"Calling all angels
I need you near to the ground
I miss you dearly
Can you hear me on your cloud?
All of my life
I've been waiting for someone to love
All of my life
I've been waiting for something to love

I almost was tempted to make a long distance call from one of these pretty phone boxes in Maui but then I started thinking about the last person who might have used them, and that maybe they had dried boogers on their hands or didn't wash after peeing or ... you know what I mean :)
We're so spoiled with our personal cell phones, knowing that we're the only person breathing our germs all over them, anyways, these were very attractive from afar :)
Lycoris Radiata, the Japanese flower that symbolizes the arrival of autumn and a Macroglossum stellatarum, a kind of moth that behaves exactly like a hummingbird
I love Kaeri :) I know her one arm looks a bit amputated, but you can sort of see the rest of her hand behind her neck :\

Speckled Warbler (Pyrrholaemus sagittatus) calling, central Victoria, Australia. Their song reminds me of R2D2. Video taken 11 September 2022 on a Canon EOS R7 body with Sigma 150-600 mm lens; footage stabilised in post.
Male Pheasants are very territorial at this time of year and this one was responding to another male calling in the distance.

Today's Facebook archive collection is a selection of Glaucous Gulls and Red Grouse. Glaucous Gull at Westhaven.
This male Bull Frog (Rana catesbeiana) knows what time of year it is...mating season. He has a green upper lip and a large yellow vocal sac that inflates when he vocalizes. It's fully expanded in the picture above. The water vibrates with his loud, deep-voiced "Rhummm" and ripples in the water radiate away from him in concentric circles. There were numerous males along the water's edge, spaced about 15-20 feet apart, and when they vocalized at the same time, it made for a very eerie sound.
Seen at Lake St. Clair Metropark (Metro Beach), Harrison Township, Michigan, USA.
