Sigfig Swordsman hears a voice calling out to him. It's a faint voice, a voice of a woman... It's the statue it must be, because there is nobody else here!!!
But how is this possible?
Havnt seen too many of these around until today when I have seen quite a few in The Yorkshire Dales.I think they have been late in breeding this year due to the cold spring .
They often nest in buttercup meadows and rough pasture and this one was on a dry stone wall infront of a buttercup meadow

Had a great morning out at Cape Solander this morning with the Focus South Crew. We got a pretty amazing sunrise once again....first weekend sunrise of Autumn too.
Took this scene from up on the cliff tops, looking South.
This is a two shot blend....one image taken to get a LE for the water, and the second image to freeze the clouds. Final image processed in PS.

This image is of three more old wooden granaries found on the edge of the Badlands north of Drumheller Alberta. I was messing around with angles and with this compressed view I really liked the layers of weathered shingles.

A series of images shot on World Wide Pinhole Photography Day 26th April 2009.
These were made using a Pinhole Blender 120, a beast of a "cake tin" that gets the looks. The day was beautiful and it was late afternoon on a Sunday.
I used a Pinhole Blender 120 with fuji RDPii Provia expired 1997 aprox, the exposures were about seven seconds each, there are three to a frame unless doubled.
For over 50 years the giant Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank has been a familiar feature of the Cheshire landscape and an internationally renowned landmark in the world of astronomy.
Since the summer of 1957 it has been quietly probing the depths of space, a symbol of our wish to understand the universe in which we live. Even now, it remains one of the biggest and most powerful radio telescopes in the world, spending most of its time investigating cosmic phenomena which were undreamed of when it was conceived.
And to think this is pretty much on my doorstep!!! :)
Ending winter was miserable and I'm desperately calling for Spring. This shot was taken 2 weeks ago and today we had first spring day with temperatures above 10 degrees centigrade. Perheps this photo helped. Who knows :)

I am calling this photograph "Ernie Hill", whether it is a hill called Ernie or that this field is owned by someone called Ernie Hill i cannot be sure? But the sign on the gate said "Ernie Hill" and it lies between the villages of Belton-in-Rutland and Loddington and Launde, right on the county boundary between Rutland and Leicestershire.
