I had a lot of fun with the train starting with the buffer car, which is literally stenciled “BUFFER SVC ONLY – DO NOT LOAD”. I do have to wonder how long it will take before some wag to changes it to buffet.

Buffer stop (bumping post) at the Albert Docks. This buffer and another are on disused trackage of the Hartley Quay Dock Railway in Hartley Quay.

I also became a fan of Buffer this year for Twitter scheduling, and have blogged about it several times. Great when you're in a hurry, but still want to schedule our social media updates. Of course, you still need time to check-in real time, but at least you can highlight some updates for throughout the day. I like their suggested quotes too, very inspirational.

Boxing Up Day - an annual event held at the City of Playford's Davoren Park Service Centre's nursery where local-native tubestock seedlings are assigned to a range of 'standard' mixed-species boxes for distribution to our Buffers to Bushland rural revegetation scheme.
This year 13,500 seedlings were sorted into these boxes.
Property owners participating in the scheme and regular volunteers from Playford Greening and Landcare assist with this task on the day.

142.030 departs promptly on the 1600 departure from Okehampton to Exeter St James' Park. It will then form the last train of the day at 1702 back to Okehampton. The train will also call at Sampford Courtenay, Crediton, Exeter St davids and Exeter Central. This is Sunday 28th August 2011. The line on the right hand side is the sand drag and buffer stop at the end of platform 2.
