Getting one more build in before 2022 finally comes to a close. I've wanted to build a couple more fairy tale book covers, and "The Frozen Wilds" category of the Brickscaliber contest was a good enough reason to finally get back to it. Shout out to Random Vector on the inspiration for the technic pin tower technique.
"A place of peace, serenity, and provision, Shroomhaven Forest is the ideal location to build a life. From its fertile soil and bountiful wildlife to its plentiful gem caches, this forest is rich in every kind of resource. The Dwarven inhabitants are kind, hardy folk, who will welcome you with open arms. As long as you don't mind larger than life snails, this is the place for you!"
My entry to Brickscalibur's "Enchanted Forest" category.
Enjoy!
At the SteineWAHN! exhibition in Berlin this year some local Roguebricks fellas and I put together a collab of fairytale MOCs spreading out of brick built open books. I liked the idea so much that i did another one for 2023/24 Brickscalibur "Medieval Micro" category
Built for Brickscalibur (Labor of Love category) as part of a collab with Sympatik Brick
One beautiful summer morning on the coast, a man named Nemyk (wanting to beat the “morning rush”) went down to his favorite fishing spot. What he found instead was a basking mermaid named Lorena, who wanted to take advantage of the first rays of the sun out of the sight of “land dwellers”. Both caught off guard, the two engaged in some awkward small talk before parting ways. As fate would have it, the two would encounter each other again the following morning, and the morning after that, and so on. Gradually warming to each other, the two poured out their hearts, and (after a few months) were deeply in love. On the anniversary of their meeting, both decided to surprise each other with a gift. Nemyk sought a rare flower that was only found deep within the inhospitable Rakath mountains, while Lorena sought a crystal in the cold abyss of the ocean. Neither were prepared for the dangers that awaited them…
Unlike the common kid the highborn nobility and royals had to practice in the art of fighting. Even the girls had to know how to defend themself.

Thanks everyone for continuing to make the LEGO community such a fun and friendly place :)
If you had any particular favorites from my 2024 builds, would love to hear which they were!
Let's open the battle chests! Can't wait to see what you guys are going to bring to the (round) table this year :)
My entry for Brickscalibur Medieval Micro category.
Here is my entry for the Rogues and Outlaws category of Brickscalibur.
An old warehouse repurposed by nefarious Wolfpack outlaws as their hideout. Perfect for storing loot and even better when they have to stay under the radar for a while after acquiring it.
It took approximately 2 months to design and build this funny building and I enjoyed every moment of it! There are no skipped corners regarding design and construction-wise here. Meaning it's a complete building and everything is connected to internal frames, angels parts via hinges, no illegal techniques, no flex tubes etc. Piece count is unknown but for sure it's ridiculous for such a small thing.
Model design is heavily inspired by an amazing model created by Tabletop World. You should definitely check them out and see all of the small wonders that the create.
The palace garden may be not a very wild place, but since it's the residence of Elsa, it is very frozen... This narwhal is Elsa's wildest pet, or as she refers to it 'sea unicorn'.
A fanciful helmet designed to look like a dragonfly, based off of a specimen currently collected by the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Built for Brickscalibur's "Far East Elegance" category.
From the Minneapolis Institute of Art:
During the 15th and 16th centuries, Japan's feudal families vied for supremacy, amassing vast armies to ensure their dominion and to conquer weaker neighbors. High-ranking lords began to embellish their helmets with sculptural forms so that they could be visually located on the battlefield. Exotic helmets (kawari kabuto) also allowed leaders to choose symbolic motifs for their helmets that reflected some aspect of their personality or that of their collective battalions.
This helmet is shaped like a giant dragonfly. In Japan, the dragonfly is symbolic of focused endeavor and vigilance because of its manner of moving up, down and sideways while continuing to face forward. In addition, in ancient texts Japan was often referred to as Akitsushima (Land of the Dragonflies), because of their abundance. They were also thought to be the spirits of rice, since they are often to be found hovering above the flooded rice fields.

Gotta bewitch them all!
This is an entry for Brickscalibur’s Elemental Emergency category.
I’ve teamed up with Gino and we made these 4 cute wizards based on the original 4 pokemons. The ones on the right are the ones I built (Pikachu and Bulbasaur), and on the left are the 2 that Gino created (Charmander and Squirtle). It was really nice to do a little bigger figure than my usual ones. Thanks for the fun, Gino, and for teaching me some Pokemon magic!
For this years På Kloss Hold (Brikkelaugets annual convention in Trondheim) i remade my "Where's Wally?" model to be fit for convention.Full interior house and church, not just facades. Was a great hit with people lining up to find all the figures hiding in plain sight.
Really hard to get good pictures of models this big but here it is.
Fishing hut. While the fisherman hauls in his catch, the trader swaps fresh vegetables for fish.
Entry for brickscalibur, in the "trading places" category
This is my intro MOC for #fracturedkingdoms RPG and Brickscalibur tournament!
Jayon was the youngest son of an old blacksmith. He lost his family after the bandits attacked their workshop and after this happened he began his way to become the greatest warrior in the world. And this is his story…
Normally, not much light comes into this room of the castle, although it is essential for a pleasant coexistence. Next to the door there is only the opening to the windy shity. Since there was no toilet paper at that time, plant leaves were used. They had to be well chosen ;-) ——————- This is my contribution to the interior category of brickscalibur.
Fallen leaves

This is my entry to the Far East Elegance category of Brickscalibur. It was honestly quite a crunch for the deadline. I was long unsure how to set the different scales apart properly without building a huge landscape and went through a bunch of ideas, none of which I could really make work with my limited setup and the closing deadline. But ultimately the mist-based solution was probably the simplest, even though it still took quite a bit of work in postprocessing. Originally I actually had an even smaller torii for a third scale further away, but it would just have cluttered the image to cram this in and neither could I have done it in time. That being said, I'm still satisfied with the end result.
Since tea was introduced to Japan by monks in medieval time the way to drink it became even more important then the tea itself. Assosiated with luxury and politics it was an elegant way to show trust and respect for each other.

I tried to add all the Lego MOC contests with prizes. Let me know if an update is needed.
Note: apparently Biocup is not a fixed date, but it still should be roughly accurate on the calendar, give or take a month.

My entrie to both contests
Viking Life for the Classic Castle Contest (CCCXX) and Frozen North for Brickscalibur Contest
This is my entry for the Monarchic Minifigures category of Brickscalibur.
The ladys from left to right are:
Ubia grew up among men and was trained in all weapons. She left her people early to discover new lands. In the process, she joined Rega.
Lupila is a ranger. She loves wolf and light luggage. She finds every trace even with her nose.
Rega „the leggless“ is heiress to the elven throne of Bail. Her parents were ambushed and murdered. She lost her legs but not her life at the same ambush. Then a wolf found here and brought here to Baily. The wolf Wuffy is now her mount.
Baily is a woodnymph and owner it the fivestick. She helpt Rega to survive and heal after Wuffy brougt her to her place. And now Baily is Rega‘s maid. By the way she is not as grimpy as she look like.
Arrasin has a preference for gold. And when she swings it through the air, she retrieves it. Mostly, however, someone loses his life in the process.
And the lady behind the flags is Tímea. She seldom touchs the ground. She is quite acrobatic and Master of Fly & Spy. And the unnamed Boudyguardess of Rega.

Made this habitat for the dwarf D&D CMF and I though it fit well with the Dwarf Tales category for this year's Brickscalibur.

I just couldn’t resist building another entry for Brickscalibur, Tails from the Meadow category.
The Arcana Vanguard
The Hermit - An erudite and elusive man, expert in potions and healing medicine.
The Hanged Woman - An extravagant thief and curious character. She likes to hide herself as a hanged victim, only to make her deed at the most appropriate moment.
Death - A mysterious mercenary from the East, travelling on a pale white horse.
The Magician - A powerful wizard full of tricks ! Her fire invocations and mischievous spells will keep the team out of harm's way.
Justice - A blind warrior who must not be underestimated, for her blade strikes as promptly as her judgement. She's the fearless leader of the Arcana Vanguard.
The Fool - A halfling bohemian who always follows this party, he seems to always be followed by dogs. His joyful spirit and tunes always cheer up the group.
Made for Brickscalibur 2024's "Adventuring Party" figbarf category.
The fantastical feast is held each year, at Majisto's castle, and no party is complete without a few uninvited guests.
Ogwen the dragon has escaped the dungeon and decided to also partake, because the guards were also at the party, Ogwen was only noticed when trying to enter the great hall.

What better theme to build a party for, then for the Dragon Masters which have their 30th anniversary this year.
Build for the "Fantastic Feasts and where to find them" category of Brickscalibur, as well as the "You’ve gotta fight, for your right, to Medieval Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarty!" category of CCCXXI.

"Tirelessly the valiant and war-hardened knight, Sir Fenrick, a fox warrior from the Den Kingdom, patrols the Barren Lands in search of his long time foe. Will he finally find him? All is known is he won't stop until he does."
I created a 2nd build for the digital category, Digitalibur, of Brickscalibur. This one took 2 days in total but was fun nevertheless. Hope you enjoy!
This was created using Bricklink Studio, Cinema 4D and Octane renderer. All made possible with @greyscalegorilla Plugins and @pugetsystems machine.
I started building a Modulex roof... not knowing exactly what the result would be.
It was a lot of fun building outside the box with lots of unusual elements.
Built for Brickscalibur 2024, category ‘Perspective Matters’.
The concept of elements making up the world stood strong in medieval times. Here is my take on the wizards controlling one element each, Fire, Water, Aeter, Air and Earth. Each is capable of summoning help from their element.
Built for Brickscalibur "Magical minifigures".
My entry for The Rogue Olympics, Round 2. It contains exactly 101 pieces.
The inverted wheel used as a cauldron is NOT my original idea, it actually comes from two wonderful MOCs: "Brickscalibur 2023 Trophy: The Witch" and "101 Bricks: Magical Misfortune" both built by
Markus Rollbühler. I've just slightly modified and improving it.
No ducks that time... He wanted to stay solid and not become liquid ;)

Since at that time the citizens of some Swiss valleys were rebelling against the Habsburgs, he has set up a small but fine and ever-growing armoury in his attic.

This is my contribution to Brickscalibur in the category „Trading Places“
Built for the 'Truly Classic Castle' category of CCC XXI and the 'Medieval Micro' category of Brickscalibur. Every piece and color used in the build was introduced during or before 1995, aside from the light bluish gray parts used to substitute light gray equivalents that existed at the time.
First build for the first round of the 2024 Iron Forge. The seed parts are Minifigure Helmets. I used 1 here.
C&C always welcome, cya!
Proud protector of the tundra. She keeps her people safe with barriers of icy rocks and freezing winds.
Built for Brickscalibur ("Where's Waldo?" category).
The infamous thief Odlaw thought this would be an easy job. Break into Baron Ruprecht's private collection, take as much as he could carry, and leave as quickly as possible. Suddenly he heard the footsteps of an approaching guard. Panicking, he searched for a hiding place somewhere in the collection.
Can you find Odlaw? Hint: look for the eyes...
”They crawled out of the dark molds of shadow and wanted an adventure” My entry for the adventuring party-category of Brickscalibur. I reckoned the bad guys want to go out on an adventure of their own.
From left to right:
Bat-paladin
Cyclop-crossbowman
Dual wielding wight
Shadow-seer
Lightbringer
They also have their beasts accompanying them: spider, dragonraven, moonhorse and plague-rat.
Made for Brickscalibur's Magical Minifigures category. Rearranged the panels so it is possible to zoom the whole thing at least a little bit on Flickr.
Magic is wonderful, powerful, freeing. Any world inhabited by those who can wield the Great Powers is one of countless miracles big and small. Unfortunately magic is also dangerous. I do not mean those who would shape reality to be petty poisoners, thieves, supernatural confidence men. Magic's fundamental nature is one that distorts and rewrites reality to the user's whim, it comes with unique costs and dangers, and many of them are unknown even to those who use it regularly.
Any crystal sphere worth its salt will, of course, study and regulate the use of magic within its bounds, or else it risks accumulating endless tiny scars of improperly devised readings and ill-conceived rituals until it collapses and becomes another dark star ruled by the Absurd God of the Unreal Plane.
Preventing this end was the foundation of The Library of Forbidden Words. Its scholars and warriors tirelessly pursue the High Magics and those who would abuse them.
The Ordo Ex Libris, the martial order of wizarding knights supplies the garrison and rangers of the Library. Middling sorcerers typically fall into their ranks, challenging the dangers of the world by disciplining their body as well as their mind.
Fig. 1 Shows a Summoner of the Unreal, probably a minor wizard corrupted by incorrect and unprotected use of magic who has been replaced by a nightmare from the Unreal Planes. It is accompanied by typical minions, a Void Parasite attached to an unlucky peasant, a Polyp, and a less common Dark Jester. The Summoner has penetrated the tomb of some forgotten magus in search of artefacts of power, but has been intercepted by a team of questing knights bent on its destruction.
The Custodial Order of the Hammer and Torch is a confraternity primarily staffed by mundanes- those who cannot use magic or draw mana. These are hopeful but luckless students who fail to enroll in the Academy, but still find purpose in serving the Library.
Fig. 2 shows a working chamber of the Custodians in charge of processing the questing knight's latest haul. Heavy leaded armor and trunks protect them from the uncatalogued magics brought in from the field while the Veiled Lady (center) preforms and augury to determine if the item is safe to bring into the Library proper. Custodians stand at ready to destroy the figure with the iconic hammer and torch, while a phoenix trainer burns magical refuse unsuitable for further handling.
The Academy of Wizarding Sciences is the heart and purpose of the Library. These are high functioning wizards capable of channeling the mana required for advanced magics. They examine items brought in by the Ordo Ex Libris, conduct theoretical research into the magical arts, and produce the spells and weapons that arm the Library's expeditions. (And of course, they maintain the actual catalogue of books.)
Fig 3. shows a few scenes from around their campus. Left to right, a professor examines the corpse of a dark jester (fig.1) while a magical automaton (a "teacher's pet") takes notes. A understudy summons Ramiel, the Keeper of Secrets, from a higher plane to discuss the item with his master. The Archivist is out for a walk. A custodian manages an accident in a study hall.
The Sisterhood of the Sightless is the fourth and final group inhabiting the Library. Their sisterhood pre-dates the establishment of the Library proper, inhabiting a small abbey that would go on to be expanded and fortified to the current structure. The Sisterhood maintains a secretive vault containing artefacts, writings, and even prisoners too powerful or valuable to be destroyed after the Academy has finished its work. To this end, they swear an oath of sightlessness, and wear ceramic masques that block their vision so that they may never know what they have placed within the vault except for the number and location listed in a braille catalogue they maintain.
Fig. 4 shows the Abbess and a sister preparing to enter the vault with the item. The Abbess carries the key that will allow the Gatekeeper to permit their entry, as well as a magical anti-lantern that obscures their movements to outside eyes and scrying magics. Also notable are the ornamented wrought iron golems that flank the halls in this area, who serve as both servants and guards to the sisters.
