8 / 52 - Yellow. My husband brewed his first batch of beer and I'll be honest, it's damn good.

Hurricane Ida made landfall as category 4 storm. It's trajectory is still heading towards us here in Baton Rouge. Winds are picking up and Brew is sticking close to me.

Sunrise somewhere in Eysturoy, Faroe Islands. That rugged Faroe Island coastline really is something. Shot with Powervision Powereye.

The new second coffee spot from Brew Lab in the west end of Edinburgh. Loved the confident design with all the strip lights as features, the neon, minimal palette and modern "mecano" furniture. I got slightly caught up with drawing the roof rather than than the customers like I'd normally do,

Midwest Airlines was still thriving on April 29, 2004 when I took this image from the hill overlooking the approach end of Milwaukee's runway 19R. America West's early departure to Phoenix is just about to roll, while a Midwest MD88 taxis out. Plenty of activity in the background as well.

"S/N" is the aircraft's serial number. "L/N" is a Boeing code denoting what order the airframe came off the production line. "F/N" refers to an individual airline's fleet numbering system. Not all airlines use a fleet number; not all manufacturers use a line number.

The Kelham Island brewery closed recently and the likes of Pale and Easy Rider will no longer be available. With the Fat Cat in the background the brewery one of the first Sheffield independents will be missed.

Kelham Island Brewery opened in 1990 in the beer garden of the Fat Cat in Alma Sreet, and at the time was the city's first independent brewery in almost a century. The original site was later converted to a visitor centre and a new brewhouse opened in 1999.

By the end of the 1990s Sheffield's other main independent brewers had all shut (Wards, Stones and Whitbread among them), leaving Kelham Island as the oldest. The reason cited for closure was cashflow issues following covid. Fortunately the Fat Cat remains open.

My friend Matt learned to brew his own beer and brewed me up a special brew for my birthday. The special ingredient? Jalapenos! I must tell you, it was delicious. We sipped on it at the Salton Sea because it was hotter than Hades out there. Thank you, Mattie!!!!

Happy Tipsy Tuesday!

Heather's favorite holiday is Halloween. It just happened that I was invited to shoot with some Roller Derby ladies along the Kuna Green Belt. Heather joined us and looked stunning - and red too. Fun shoot - I think I'm slightly biased but I love when she joins us at a shoot - my camera never gets tired of shooting with her!

I took these photos in last October 2022.

Pictured here is a remnant of the Vienna Brewery, one of the four buildings originally comprising this brewery operated by the A.J. Houghton Co. from 1876 to 1918. Situated in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury, only this and one other building are extant. This building, built in 1876, was the 'brew house' its fifth floor having been removed decades ago (see original image below). Used as a waste paper processing plant from the 1920's to early 1980's, it was purchased by the Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1984 and is currently used for storage.

Brew is a local coffeehouse and pub. I appreciate folk art of all sorts including the more modern type that some call graffiti or even vandalism. Some I don’t appreciate like scribbling and some tagging. If you have something to say maybe but generally effort shows in scale. I like this restroom. Someone put in some time and effort. I came for coffee but I was entertained by art spread throughout the place. The bathroom was impressive. This is Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, California.

Told myself when I started posting images on flickr that I wasn't going to do this but decided to upload a horizontal version of this abandoned farmhouse to go along with the vertical image I posted yesterday. I like them both so what the heck! Located in Marion County Missouri.
