Yummy looking cut end! Adapted from the Braided Lemon Bread at Smitten Kitchen! smittenkitchen.com/2010/05/braided-lemon-bread/
not too shabby eh? I think I did this 3 weeks after I learned how to knit in 2009. I wish I could remember where I put the pattern!
When I braid my hair, I often use my cell phone to check on the braid.
Typically this is done in airports. This particular picture was taken for demonstration purposes. Jimmie and Henry snuck in.

For ODC~Stress
With school coming up in less than a week, I'm stressed for the new school year. I was just thinking of the new year- new classes, teachers, people..ugh.
ON ANOTHER NOTE I LOVE MY RED HAIR!
This was a concept I drew out- I have a book with pages and pages filled!

Bronze reclining sphinx with an elaborate braided coiffure, the braided necklace draping across her naked breasts, a small rectangular platform resting on her back. Finely detailed with serene face. Green patina with a light earthen patina. 400 BC
(3 ½" x 2 ½")
My hair is getting longer and I am becoming a (slightly) better braider, though I still apparently pull more to the right.
This scarf was so, so, so fun to knit. The yarn was lovely to work with and I think it was the perfect yarn for this project (even though I used it as a substitution--the pattern called for Rowan Felted Tweed). The color I chose reminds me of wheat...outdoors...nature...
I altered some things significantly--see here for the scarf in the book. I made mine a solid color, as I was going for a classier, simplistic, and less kiddish look. I also omitted the fringe, as I thought the scarf would be beautiful without it. I'm very pleased with the results.
Pattern: Braided Mischief Scarf from Scarf Style
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, 2 1/2 skeins (knit with two strands held together throughout), in Yellow Ochre (channeling Bob Ross on this one)
Needles: Size 10 1/2, cable needle

Here's what I look like with my hair braided. Not what I usually wear everyday. This is like my first time wearing them in 5 years. I just put them in so my hair wouldn't tangle up in my sleep. Irish curls are like that ;D I remind myself of Laura Ingalls. Seriously, all I need is 2 pink ribbons to put on the ends.
Braids pinned and in updo part 2, they just remind me of the fibers in baskets, how I braided my own natural hair
