Just a swirly Bokeh test with my Helios 44-7 at F2

Taken with Carenar 135

Hangzhou East Railway Station

Spending a little while with battery powered christmas lights taped up on my door. The shapes were achieved by cutting shaped holes in thick card and holding it in front of the lens.

Lights at Christmas

I was fiddling around with my camera in manual focus and for the very first time I was able to get a very nice bokeh! Woohoo!

When my oldest was 5, she helped my dad plant this tree in my parent's front yard. Every year, it flowers so beautifully, and it's shape is just perfect...

I can't believe that this tree is 15 years old already...

This is my favourite shot from that morning. the shallow DOF from my 50mm makes it look almost like an oil painting.

Once the lights came on, I tried a few experiments with bokeh and abstract shapes. This is the Manhattan Beach pier out of focus to get the lights to show just as circles.

This photo is pretty much straight out of camera, aside from the watermark.

It was 16 degrees outside. I don't know why the bluebirds are here in the winter.

HBW to you all!!

Blurry... Bokeh...Buzz... unclear yet sometimes more soothing than the harsh clarity.

A static buzz, a soothing numbness...

Early morning sun near the flower market, the subtle red is the bunch of red roses.

Love the angled rays of the sun, creates miracles when it falls of objects. (Like even my lens (-: )

Happy Bokeh Wednesday!

Bokeh Test with Sony Alpha-350 & Albinar f=28mm + Extension Rings.

Some debris in the objective (left edge). Dust? Fungus?

Theme: Still Life

Elements: color and space

Principles: emphasis and unity

Aperture: f/4.5 was used in order to keep the one light in focus while all of the other lights are not. This depth of field technique creates a bokeh effect in the image.

ISO: I used an ISO of 100 while taking this photograph which made the background darker, and kept the lights from making the exposure too bright.

I have not upload photos to Flickr too long. This would be used for the Christmas and congratulate the new year to all my contacts, so imagine the delay time that I have.

Strobist info: Lost the power of flash, but if I used a homemade mini softbox and an SB-24.
