This one is a huge condo about two kilometers away from my balcony which perpetually blocks my view and keeps light every night in my bedroom.

Kind of looking forward to fall colors again... one I never uploaded from last fall!

As per the discussion at Morty's regarding my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D.

The lens produces extremely blocky bokeh at f2.8... at f1.8 (as in this shot) the bokeh is quite a bit better but still not circular.

(Also, judging by all the spots.. it looks like some part of my camera needs cleaning)

A few shots I did for the Macro Mondays Holiday bokeh theme.

A slight cheat because I took this at Christmas, but only uploaded today....

In June 2009, a stunning little 2 year old, Camille, was diagnosed with a brain tumuor. We hope to raise awareness for the charity, Camilles Appeal, to raise funds for Camille and other young children living in East Anglia who have been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour.

All money raised will be used in conjunction with the work being done by the NHS and other relevant organisations. The treatment of childhood cancers is improving every year. However, there is still a lot that can be done to help children like Camille.

Olympus Zuiko 50mm Auto Macro

Thought I'd check the bokeh on the Quattro DP2with the lens wide open and under 1 meter from the lens. I thought it did OK, but some of the older lens designs have the swirly look this does not. To this bugshutter's eye, it's no detriment.

Handheld, using AF; could have done better, but was only looking for bokeh, not a Pulitzer...

oh boy. let me tell you. it may be old but it kicks ass still. awesome bokeh and sharpness! truly the cream maching~

Confused about bokeh? Me too. But I’m learning. I’ve posted some practical advice on my photo blog, Points of Light

Bokeh Wednesday to one and all! ( H B W ! )

(*Bokeh (derived from Japanese boke ぼけ, a noun form of bokeru ぼける, "become blurred or fuzzy") is a photographic term referring to the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field. Different lens bokeh produces different aesthetic qualities in out-of-focus backgrounds, which are often used to reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject. ~ Source: Wikipedia)

i love dreamcatchers. no big deal.

AAMI Stadium in Melbourne with a bokeh twist

Just goofing around with a semi-willing model and a DIY bokeh wall.

Shot in the living room. One 3 year old sitting 5 feet in front of the background. A dollar's worth of crumpled aluminum foil hung on the wall, one old SB27 speedlight through an umbrella camera left. On the right is a (very) DIY reflector that's served us well made of foil covered cardboard. A second SB27 on the floor behind her chair with yellow gel firing at the background. Meant to be shooting 1.8.... only now realizing I was at 2.0.

If I was full frame and at 1.4 the background would've been better. I haven't touched it in Lightroom.. this is SOC. Might go in and pull up her hair a bit from the raw if I get time.
