The 13th edition of the Awakenings Festival was a bit muddy, a tad sunny and very enjoyable. 35.000 punters on a field filled with techno, what's not to like?

I took a day trip to Oxford on Saturday - taking advantage of the £2 bus cap before the end of the year, using the 94X from Gloucester to Cheltenham and then the S2 to Oxford. It was £8 in total, so a heck of a lot cheaper than the £30 or so the train would have cost. At nearly two hours long, the S2 is a bit of a marathon but I can't complain at that price point.
I was surprised to see buses travelling along the incredibly busy Queen Street, near the Westgate shopping centre. Normally the street wouldn't be like this but with Christmas fast approaching it was pretty packed. Buses were travelling along at about 1mph and 512 of the Oxford Bus Company is seen slowly making its way along. As you can imagine, this was a bit tricky to photograph with the number of other people rushing by!

This is a playscape that we made for the Bits of Goodness swap for a lovely family in Canada. This was a mother-daughter project, designed by daughter. The ground was sewn with wool felt and recycled fabric from clothing. The grasses were crocheted and latch-hooked wool yarn. Bushes were wool yarn pompons that we wrapped. The pool/stream was crocheted from cotton yarn that we dyed with indigo. The flowers are crocheted yarns. We enjoyed making this playscape!
These pictures were taken before we mailed it. This one features wood farm animals.
I remember seeing something like this that someone had done a while ago, and have been meaning to do it since. Was going to get some stuff together that was kinda 2009. But I just got some shit together I liked haha. Was going to go to bed but I'm not tired. I'm sure i will be when i wake up. Going to watch Eli Reed in State Of Mind then go to bed.
Bit sneaky this one. This was a 13 min exposure that started at 11.54pm on day 131 but ended at 12.07am on day 132. Found out how to find the pole star (by looking at the plough), now I can do cleverer things like putting it in a little gap in the trees!

I'm running out of ways to call my sunset photos. This is the sunset on my way to class. The building right next to it is the BIT building at CSUMB. I think the photo does a great job of silhouetting the building and accentuating the colors of the sunset. This was taken with my iPhone 5s.

A visit to the Parc de la Ciutadella in Barcelona. We got here a bit earlier than we expected as we couldn't visit the Picasso Museum without having booked tickets in advance. This park was nearby and was huge!
The Parc de la Ciutadella (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈpaɾɡ də lə siwtəˈðeʎə]; "Citadel Park") is a park on the northeastern edge of Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. For decades following its creation in the mid-19th century, this park was the city's only green space. While watching dragonflies, this bee somehow got itself into a bit of trouble. I was able to reach it and rescued it before it drowned and before the pond skater waiting in the wings got to it. Makes for a nice pic though.

A little blurry, but a warm memory of the spring of 2006, when I was pregnant with Willow and Ben and I went to this great plant store. We bought this little catnip bunch and let the cats ravage it. Here they are after sampling the catnip, and just look at Bits, having so much fun with Sentachu. I love how she is perched above him, looking over to him as if to say, "Yes, may I help you?" So dainty!
And Bits, his beautiful minty-green eyes, crisp and clear in these days. So playful..he was the most affectionate and cuddly, squirrely racoonlike creature! I miss him so much, still of course, everyday. It will never cease, only grow stronger. I am grateful to have these shots of him. I feel like I took enough.
Bitem, politically part of Tortosa, is a small town upriver. It is a 4km walk near the Ebro river through orange plantations. Citrus fruit grow well here and it is the most important product grown here.
