I saw this little guy swimming around, but every time I raised the camera, he darted off. Right towards the end of the trip, I tried one last time and got three shots before he swam off again. Cute, isn't he?

IdemoLab, DELTA joined forces with KEA's Jewellery Design program and Wearable Technologies in collaboration to create 'Meaningful Jewellery' for their wearable technology project, and to host the Wearable Tech Global Picnic.
At the event "Jewellery of Tomorrow", KEA students from all semesters exhibited their projects (Meaningful Jewellery, Mixed Media, and Portfolio). The Meaningful Jewellery Devices class was part of a collaboration between Vanessa Julia Carpenter of IdemoLab, DELTA and Petra Ahde-Deal of KEA. Vanessa is exploring the Design of Meaningful Smart Devices and introduced to the class how to work with hardware and think about creating non-screen, tangible, embedded interactive devices which create value and are meaningful in people's lives.
In the coming decade, wearable technology will touch nearly every aspect of our lives. The jewellery students from KEA shared their 8-week journey in creating meaningful jewellery devices and their functional prototypes. Understanding the functionalities of different sensors and using the knowledge of design thinking and user experience, the functional jewellery prototypes are the nexus of design, innovation, imagination and function.

Well this one was a bit of a disappointment.
So I've been slowly getting into the habit (or at least the acceptance) of spending a bit more money and actually getting Convention Exclusive figures. Most of the time, they're neat cosmetic upgrades of generally solid toys.
Some times, they're cosmetic upgrades of not so good figures, which is the case of Wheel Blade, a retooling of the Fans Hobby MB-12 Athena (aka Minerva) into a Windblade homage. She's a Headmaster, like the Titans Return version, but she's also a car now.
The figure was a TFCon exclusive for Chosen Prime, but was solicited just as COVID hit, so I didn't get my chance to buy one in person, and there was no way I was spending $40 USD to ship it to me. There is still stock, and some were brought to TFCon 2023, where I dropped $100 CAD for this, which isn't that terrible considering the asking price on their website is $80 USD.
Things were off to a pretty good start. The Porsche alt mode looks pretty sweet (or Porsche alike.. my car knowledge isn't great) A bit lacking in the paint department but this isn't priced MP level. The Headmaster has decent articulation and is actually smaller than the Minicon that came with Naval Commander. No rubber wheels or chrome, but again, price point and all that.
When you start transformation is when things start going screwy. First off, you have to take the literal roof of the vehicle mode... not what I expected from something with Fans Hobby engineering behind it. The instructions for transformation really aren't that great, with several steps, IMHO, actually either missing or they never planned on it correctly. Then there's that weird design choice to make the foot of the robot mode attach itself to the leg of the robod mode by this super thin piece of plastic that, of course broke.
After suffering through the transformation, the resulting robot mode is.. OK It's definitely better than your run of the mill Voyager in some ways, but ultimately those one or two extra points of articulation cannot make up for the fact the shoulders are still basic shoulders, and that there's no true ankle tilts. Lack of ankles means you really can't take advantage of those wide spreading legs.
From a weapons perspective, you have a pair of blasters that I guess came with the original figure. Wheelblade specific, however, you get her sword and scabbard. None of these weapons particularly tab in well to her thighs, and the actual grip on the weapon is alright, but is prone to falling off.
