Google Maps 8-bit for NES was a Google gift for April Fools 2012.
Maps and also Google Street View could be viewed in the iconic pixellated style of the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment Systems.
I went around and took some "photos" - screen captures of my monitor while viewing iconic and favourite places I have been in the world, and this image is one of them.

Bit of a in-the-sun shot, but the rising Belgrade Plaza Phase 3 development completely dominates the view, standing from the bottom of Radford Rd (Radford Radial as it used to be called - maybe it still is). Bit of a prosaic start to my PAD, but today's main event was getting a new boiler installed since the one that was here when we moved in had sprung a rather serious leak. A slightly more expensive start to the year than we had hoped, but at least it's one thing off the list.

A little blurry, but a warm memory of the spring of 2006, when I was pregnant with Willow and Ben and I went to this great plant store. We bought this little catnip bunch and let the cats ravage it. Here they are after sampling the catnip, and just look at Bits, having so much fun with Sentachu. I love how she is perched above him, looking over to him as if to say, "Yes, may I help you?" So dainty!
And Bits, his beautiful minty-green eyes, crisp and clear in these days. So playful..he was the most affectionate and cuddly, squirrely racoonlike creature! I miss him so much, still of course, everyday. It will never cease, only grow stronger. I am grateful to have these shots of him. I feel like I took enough.
