Looking a bit serious in this one, think its because the camera was playing up and I didn't know if the timer was on two shots or not.

Bit disappoint yet happy too because this jacket is now too big (yay) but I like it so I am slightly miffed :-(

Oh well I could always get it altered.

This outfit has made me remember that this look actually works for me and that I should wear clothes like this more often.

I will be boring you with this set but I will break it up a little and post some other pics in between.

Good morning, I took this one last night because i got the dress the Friday from a charity shop, It an old Hell Bunny dress and a large so should be a UK14 think again sherlock seems they used to be a little different few years back. its closer a 12 in all truth all be it a large 12. I can just about squeeze into it. I know i have put a bit of chunk on but other HB dresses that are the same size fit better.

Off out this morning i think for the first time since my accident . when i say out i mean a proper punt around the shops. Just hope my trotter stands upto the walking.

Peak district at dusk east of Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Amongst the heavy storm clouds that rolled in tonight, there was this small blue opening of the sky with still a bit of sunlight shining through. A little later there was a fantastic red sunset sky also. It is always amazing how the skies change so quickly here.

Shot from my balcony in Lougheed Village of Burnaby, BC

Once upon a time, there was a little white stray cat who lived in a Bus Depot. Life was pretty tough for this little cat; food was scarce and to start with at least, it was hard to find somewhere warm and dry to sleep – especially during the long, cold wet winter nights. However, the cat had used some initiative, and had taken to crawling up into the engine bays of the big buses. It was a bit smelly, and his white fur often ended up black and greasy, but – well – beggars can’t be choosers, and he was (after all) a beggar!

And then sometime last year, Life suddenly took a turn for the better for the little cat. The kindly man who was the Yardman for the Depot started leaving a bowl of food and a bowl of water near the fuel pump... The cat couldn’t believe his luck, and before long, he was happy for the man to scratch his ears! – which was a big step forward for the cat, for this was his first experience of Human Kindness!

After six weeks or so of regular meals, the little white (and at times partly black!) cat took to sitting near the Depot door, looking longingly inside. He was dying to find out what was on the other side of the door, but to go inside was a potentially scary move. After all, he might end up being trapped in there with a lot of angry Humans. But finally, one afternoon just as a Driver entered the Depot building, the cat seized the moment, and raced through the rapidly closing door...

As it turned out, it was a bit of an anti-climax. The world never ended, nothing untoward happened, nobody shouted at him – and in fact nobody really took much notice of him at all. But there was an old couch near the foot of a stairwell, and that couch looked Comfortable... Within minutes, he was fast asleep, curled up in a tight little ball of fur. In the middle of his sleep, he thought he heard voices, even thought he might have been touched by more than one person, but he was just too tired to worry, and he slept on!

Late in the afternoon, he awoke with a start. Voices were indeed close by; what should he do? Opening one eye, he surveyed the scene. There was nothing alarming to be seen – in fact the scene that filled his eye took him by surprise: someone was placing a plate of food on the couch beside him, and someone else had already placed a fresh dish of... milk?!? Suddenly, someone else was scratching his ears, and in spite of his uncertainty, he had to turn his Purr Motor on; he’d never, ever been patted like this ever before...

And so a routine developed; the little cat would sneak into the ground floor of the building during the day, and he’d sleep outside during the night – but even that wasn’t too bad now because one of the Mechanics had built him a little house to sleep in. However, there was still something that puzzled this curious little feline: what was up those stairs???

One day – and now no-one is quite sure when that was – the cat took the plunge: he raced quickly up the stairs, had a quick look... and raced back down again. He’d survived...! And so he tried again the next day, and the next – each time getting a little bolder, each time staying at the top of the stairs for a little longer... until, early one cold Spring morning, he followed an important-looking man up the steps and through a door into a room filled with a warmth that the he’d never ever experienced before! He didn’t know it at the time, but he’d just walked into the Team Leader’s office, and there – over against the wall – was a nice warm “Thingee” glowing red hot and giving out warmth – lovely, lovely warmth!

The cat slunk into a corner of the room and tried to stay out of sight, but he watched with interest the many comings and goings. One thing especially struck him (Figuratively speaking!): everyone seemed so nice. No-one was yelling; no-one was angry... After a while, he slunk out of the room and raced back down the stairs, but he was quite pleased with himself; he’d discovered what was up the stairs, he’d liked what he’d seen, and he hadn’t been chased or hit... He’d certainly pay another visit the next day...!

And so the very next morning, the cat once again carefully entered the office – and there in front of the warm machine was what looked like a nice white fluffy bed – all nicely stretched out... and the man was calling him over to it... The cat decided that the risks weren’t that great now, so he succumbed to temptation, stretched out in front of the warm heat, and quickly fell fast asleep... Somewhere in the middle of his slumbers, he thought he heard a new voice suggest that he should be called "Diesel", but he wasn’t sure if the voice was for real, or whether it was a dream, so he slumbered onwards...

Which brings us forward to today...

Today, this little white stray has indeed been named “Diesel”, and he still mostly sleeps on the comfy sheepskin in front of the heater, but every now and again, he curls up on the desk behind the Team Leader’s computer (Above); it just saves people having to bend down to stroke him! And when the Team Leader leaves in the middle of the afternoon, Diesel quietly ambles into the Driver’s Room and makes himself at home in a nice big comfortable armchair – directly below the wall-mounted heat pump!

So Life for little Diesel has never been so good now; he knows he's loved, and he's feeling pretty good about himself. But - and here's where things took a totally unexpected turn - a busy Bus Depot now has a warm fuzzy atmosphere that it never had before, and it's only got this atmosphere because it's been lucky enough to have been adopted by a once homeless, nameless, grease-smeared little stray cat...!

Gone for a colour change in the hallway and i think it might be a tad blue and will clash with so much of what i wear. Maybe thats why they did it lol

I went out yesterday to pick up some bits and word this dress that iv'e decided has to go as its a bit big and not long enough or full enough in the skirt. I never really got on with it so say goodbye to the dress.

i made a mistake on top so had to stick a spot on (dont look!)! Its a take on a martha stewart cake..shes great!

Back home yester afternoon after cooking in the car. ok the car wasn't hot as i have AC but i prefer a window open as i did. the outside temp on the car while driving at 70mph was 38 so very hot for England.

As it was so darn hot I decided to change into the outfit i was going to wear had i met up with sally. As it goes the interview took longer than i thought and sally and decided to give it a miss because the traffic was going to be nuts as it was.

So here you see me with not a bit of makeup at all. Not even lippy. I pass enough like this as to not worry about it to much when the postman turns up

This has a bit of a staged look, but originally I thought I was just taking a candid shot of the woman reclining on her scooter. Then I noticed the man on the left was in the middle of an animated phone conversation in which he was kind of dancing around. Spotted at the Brick Works

Bit surprised?

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas day and enjoy your Boxing day... I wonder to myself why I've posted this when no one is around to see it, but hey!

This was a fun little shot taken on the 23rd of December, experimenting with the Snow Dogs Backdrop from Synergy. It's a great backdrop, as is all of their stuff; it's a little difficult to navigate camera-wise but great none-the-less

bit of swell on the beaches but not enough for a wave so day 136 of my 365

Feeling a bit sorry for those businesses along the North East coast this Bank Holiday weekend that were hoping for a bumper sun-drenched Bank Holiday weekend.

Saturday and Sunday have seen a stubborn sea fret hugging the coastal fringe, delivering grey skies, mist and cool temperatures.

Less than a mile inland it was wall to wall blue skies and feeling pleasantly warm.

This afternoon, desperate to recall what warm summer-lik sunshine actually felt like, I headed into Northumberland for a walk around Bolam Lake, near Belsay.

Temperatures reached a very respectable 21°C. The plan had been to have a BBQ on returning home, but alas no, the sea fret was still in control and it was feeling a touch on the chilly side at 11°C.

Fingers crossed the sun manages the send the sea fret packing tomorrow and the coast will be the place to head to for the Bank Holiday.

Originally thought these were woolly aphids on Alder bushes but after a bit of searching, I discovered Psyllids! Also found that one species, Psylla alni, is found on Alder and is a good match for these woolly little bugs. (Nymph stage)

Bit darker than it looks on my phone.

Bit cold for fishing...

A bit forgotten, sadly, it's been off the road since 1988 and has remained registered to its original owner as well apparently, so no doubt there is quite an attachment to it as it's been off the road longer than it was ever on it.... Stuff like this is always the most fascinating because it's not quite clear as to why the owner still has it.

The Kitadake Katanokoya hut is located at exactly 3,000m and offers a rough but authentic level of comfort.

A bit different to my last few uploads and something I never expected to see on my lunch break yesterday. I think this is the first Viper I've seen on the road since the late 90s. I have a memory of following one while driving my first car back in around 1998-99.

This seemed a bit smaller than I remembered them, perhaps a sign of cars generally getting bigger. I saw the roof of this first and thought it might be a Lotus Exige - never expected it to be a Viper.

This is the second rare-ish Chrysler I've seen this week. A very well cared for early Neon escaped my camera on Weds. Quite a difference between the two cars!

A little bit of a 1-11 fest! Here G-AVMJ wears the British (only) titles in the early 1980s.Originally to BEA in 1968, after service with British Airways she went to European Aircharter. Her fuselage is stored at the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust Museum. Sadly no wings or tail. Still you can't have it all! What amazes me is that those sheds beyond the fuel tanks still carry their World War II camouflage almost forty years later. Alan Lord Collection

A bit wider than the previous view but all the details are the same.

Bit of an accident as I tried to get a good exposure late at night in a dark square. Turned out rather well though! (I think)

A bit of Montréal, shot on one of many walks around the city during a month's holiday in the summer of 2016..

The garden is the only bit of the property that is open. It's accessed via steps or slope from the terrace.

Although there is some evidence of a formal garden before 1745, it had been abandoned by then. By the early C19th the parterre and formal terracing in front of the castle had been revived. After WWII it was decided to simplify it, but retain the older features such as the yews. The garden has featured on many calendars and was the backdrop to Montroses's garden in "Rob Roy".

From the gardens you can also appreciate the castle which was built in 1490 by John, 1st Lord Drummond. The 2nd Earl was a Privy Councillor to James VI and Charles I. He is credited with transforming both the gardens and the castle between 1630-1636. As it stands today, the keep is all that remains of that castle (seen on the far left) whilst the majority that we can see here was restored and remodelled by the 1st Earl of Ancaster in 1890.

A bit scraggly but still magnificent!

The Owl (Caligo memnon) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is also known as the Pale or Giant Owl butterfly. The species can be found in the rainforests and secondary forests of Mexico down to the Amazon rainforest.

The wingspan is usually from 115 to 130 mm, but can reach 150 mm. The larvae feed on Musa and Heliconia species and can be a pest for banana cultivation. Adults feed on juices of ripe fruit.
