The incredible rate of change and progress in India leaves on the side of the roads some older bits that have served their purpose.

A little bit blurred, but in view of its rarity, worth showing, I think - at first sight, just another Paramount, but the sound of a Leyland Leopard coming from underneath makes it much more interesting. More than that, the chassis was originally left-hand drive, and was part of a cancelled export order, which was acquired by the Paul Sykes Organisation in Barnsley, who converted them to right-hand drive, and had them bodied by Plaxton with Paramount 3200 bodies. For a long time, I believed there were 6 in the batch, but it appears there were only 5 in the end.

VWU 529 spent 19 years with Bibby, latterly as FFV 807Y. It was then equally well looked after by its two subsequent owners, Coopers Tourmaster of Bedlington, and Fowlers of Holbeach Drove. Then in 2018, things went full circle, and it ended up back in Ingleton, but this time with local small operator Steven Baines, who one would guess might have been a former employee of Bibby's at one time. I have only just discovered this fact, so this may be on a list of targets for next year - hibernation started last weekend !

No, this wasn't a Hollywood shoot, it's a real 425-pound silverback gorilla being wheeled out of surgery. The primate, named Vip, underwent a procedure to fix a sinus infection that spun out of control. The procedure was performed at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA.

For Woodland Park Zoo, August 2014.

A bit of fun. A lens zoom (i.e. twist the zoom barrel while shooting), enhanced with a radial blur in Photoshop. The subject in the center is a cluster of brown oak leaves.

Beautiful deep navy dress from Pilgrim. One of (the many many MANY) dresses and other outfits I've bought over the years with no memory of when or where I got them. It's like finding a lovely magical gift surprise in your wardrobe (or closet).

NGH's "Boneshaker" at Coles in Melbourne. Good to see it actually does a bit...

Mono County, California 2011

Bit of a monster panorama taken from the Petrin observation tower.

A nice bit of variety here, on a good, clear card with fairly natural colouring.

No trace of the Renault 16 UKG 856J. Escort Mk2 looks to be the most modern car I can see, so I reckon we're in 1975/76?

I think that might be a Datsun 100A hiding behind the tree. Who's going to have a guess at the car just visible in the bottom right corner?

The Bedford sign on the left is interesting, I've struggled to findany decent images but I think there was a garage there. It can just be seen here:

A look at old OS map data confirms this, with a garage at No. 54 and adjoining properties 56-58 set back from the road. They'd all gone and been redeveloped by 1982.

As the last bit of the solar disc was covered the sky darkened and venus became visible. At the same time this ring of fire appeared in the sky. The entire crowd elicited a collective sigh of amazement and then broke into cheers of joy.

Just before leaving for Greenville I looked at the cloudy sky and was afraid the cloud cover was going to prevent a good viewing of the eclipse. I said a prayer for clear skies and feel very grateful I got to see this marvelous event. Is it coincidence that it began to rain about 15 minutes after the sun reappeared?

The area of totality was only about 50 miles north of Hilton Head but I decided to make the extra effort to evade the coastal haze and clouds. That is why we decided to go to Greenville, SC to witness the event.

There was a lot of traffic on the highways. I spoke to people who had driven from Florida, New Jersey, Charlotte, Georgia and that was just a small random sample of people that were near us at the Fair Grounds. I also met a family that had driven up from Hilton Head and we exchanged information. Please enjoy my other posts from today which include a short video of the crowd reacting to totality as well as a shot of the beautiful rainbow we saw on the way home.

There are two tributaries that join together in the park to make the fast flowing river Aire. This is the slow half!

Images captured in the breathtakingly beautiful Urabandai area in Northern Japan.

A mild winter so far gave us the chance to witness these early December sceneries one month late.

This image is a panoramic stitch.

All images captured with the new Nikon 70-200 f2.8 E FL on the D810. This lens is simply amazingly good. Otus quality in a zoom lens. A first in my book.

Bit of a rock chick thing going on here?

Just had to try my new long boots over some tight denim...

First shot with nikon d600 after selling my last one

A Wee Bit Wonky

Circa 1860

Savannah, Georgia

I was a bit younger and beefier than I am now in this photo. I was obviously doing a work at the gym, which I usually use to have all to myself.

Since I had posted so many pictures of white flowers, I thought it was time for a change!

Hugs to all!

A bit of a rustic scene behind a little cafe on Kingsway up near Knight Street in East Vancouver. Cheo Leo is one of those odd little places on Kingsway. Their neon sign is never on anymore and the front curtains are always closed. But the place is definitely open as a fan above the front door is always on blowing smokey air outside. Many people have surmised that there are little gambling operations tucked away along Kingsway. This could be one of them!

Bit of a jump here timewise, missing out a lot of stuff, but wanted something special to be my 20,000th upload

Bit windy for Macro today so I lent into ICM and then Jazzed it up a little...

Bit of a dull day today - I took Roki for a walk up Colton Hill for some fresh air (and to try to burn off some of his Collie Pup energy... unsuccessfully)

Quite like the view from the end of the road though... it's very Cumbrian!

Bit tricky this week with all the restrictions of social distancing and not allowed to go very far.

Managed to capture this while walking doggo this morning.

I stopped and grabbed a photo of the last bits of light at sunset.

Well, this semester seems to be my best semester(only in the field of photography -_-)...haven't learned this much in my entire college life.

Everything seems to be interesting whenever I hold D7000 in my hands!!!

Happy clicking :)

Press L and F11 to view large and on black!!!

Bit more rationalism with the Thompson's CRT.

.... bits and pieces of our happy home.

Quite a bit of rain over the last week but still the rivers are not fast flowing
