I had the title because it popped into my mind instantly but I had to sideline it for a while because I had to do some warping to present it the way I wanted and I don't care if the viewing are down a bit on the carney rides I had a max of fun shooting and they were a breeze to edit, especially for me! I don't get many colors in the ag settings so I revel in JUST COLORS. And this title DOES have a nice touch for a warped brain, don't you think? It reminds me of Monty Python's response to the Stutterers Union of Americans after "A Fish Called Wanda." Peaches but tough to write out. Must be a couple of the carneys I met somehow?
My attitude was down due to the rotten skies yesterday and today so I kept editing and ran out of capturesI looked out of the blinds and noticed the day was running down, unsprung, and I sprung up with no one to tango so I slapped my buns and switched modus activitii to full power. Who knew that could happen? The county fair ran from the first through the fifth, I needed a fifth and time was a-wasting. As it works out it seems the close by fairs all close on Sunday at 4:00. This was it. Bail for the fair now and I forgot to call Eddie. I probably had time. Charge camera, check card and off to see what the carneys have in store.
All my shooting before sunset was garbage; after, was a kick. And me there hand-held without my tripod and nothing to do but experiment. I figured exposure was no sweat if I was taking images of colored lights. As exposures grew slower, I opened the monster lens but in fact, that is a mistake; so I crept back up to f:11 and f:16. The new plan is to start slowing the shutter down and I got as slow as 2 seconds which ended up being the key at 200 ISO. I could then pan the camera and jiggle the camera at will. It seems that jiggling the camera at 2 seconds is not a problem as you can see. It is more difficult zooming full range when the shutter is open and the camera hand held. A tripod MIGHT help on zoom at the sacrifice of spontaneity. A piece of foam on top of the tripod, rest the lens shade on that and manipulate the zoom? I completely forgot to try racking the focus during exposures and I certainly didn't get enough pans and blips, IMHO. Apparently, colors and saturations are in the bag with digital sensors. The real goal is to find angles that maximize the balances of the lights in the frame. Look for complexity and combinations. It's hard to capture three rides active at the same time, five impossible. This is what I learned; go from there. Place lights in the middle of the frame but you best have no expectations except balance, where ever your goose is cooked there. The jiggles add the action. This is the Ferris wheel and the other rides in action while the lens was being vertically, sort of.
I'd like to think there is a fraction of the creativity of i_still_believe_in_u! I am trying. At least I got a chance to shoot colors instead of subtleties like Anoop Negi in Goa. That's fun!
The Fleishhacker pool and pool house were built in 1924 by philanthropist Herbert Fleishhacker. The pool was the largest swimming pool in the United States. The pool held 6 million gallons of water and could accomodate 10,000 swimmers. The pool was closed in 1971 with the pool itself being paved over by the San Francisco Zoo for a new parking lot. The pool house which was used by bathers at the pool remains on its original site today in ruins.

Would life be any fun at all if you didn't know deep down that it was finite?
Because of the attacks in the past, the restoration was so radical that there is almost nothing original in its structure.
It's an exact replica (made in concrete) of one of the most important castles in Japan.
In the inner floor there is a modern museum with good material about the Siege of Osaka castle and a particular point of view about the rivalry between Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Because winds and water currents flow over the land, the formation of sand is unavoidable. As long as the winds blew, the rivers flowed, and the seas stirred, sand would be born grain by grain from the earth, and like a living being it would creep everywhere. The sands never rested. Gently but surely they invaded and destroyed the surface of the earth.
This image of the flowing sand made an indescribably exciting impact on the man. The barrenness of sand, as it is usually pictured, was not caused by simple dryness, but apparently was due to the ceaseless movement that made it inhospitable to all living things. What a difference compared with the dreary way human beings clung together year in year out.
Certainly sand was not suitable for life. Yet, was a stationary condition absolutely indispensable for existence? Didn't unpleasant competition arise precisely because one tried to cling to a fixed position? If one were to give up a fixed position and abandon oneself to the movement of the sands, competition would soon stop. Actually, in the deserts flowers bloomed and insects and other animals lived their lives. These creatures were able to escape competition through their great ability to adjust...
While he mused on the effect of the flowing sands, he was seized from time to time by hallucinations in which he himself began to move with the flow.

A few weeks, the 80's Toy Show was held at the usual spot in Mississauga, ON. As per my tradition, I attended the show because I had nothing else to do, but also, if I entered at 11 am I'd essentially be paying $5 a person since my kid is still only 4 years old.
Unlike other times I've attended a show at this location (mostly 80's Toy or TFCon), I actually bought something. Just like all the times I end up with a con haul, it's usually something that really isn't on the radar of attendees. In my case, it was toys that weren't made in the 80's.
I ended up buying three things, the first of which is this figure right here.
So, I like buying cheap, well made toys. The only thing that gets me even more motivated is when I find cheap, well made toys with die cast metal in them.
Introducing Might Gaine, the primary mecha from The Brave Express Might Gaine series.
The Brave series is foreign to me. It apparently ran in Japan after the Transformers series had finished, with toys developed by Takara. Like Transformers, the series revolved around sentient robots, though I'm not sure if they were extra terrestrial in nature. Multiple lines were eventually developed under the Brave series, each featuring a main mecha that upgraded through combination with various allies they'd meet during their adventures.
Might Gaine here is a combiner that is formed from of several trains, with the arms being able to transform into other forms besides a train. None of which you will be seeing here, because this is a Super Robot Chogokin series, or SRC.
So, for the uninitiated, what is a SRC?
Well, imagine if Bandai made highly poseable action figures of various Super Robots, rather than transforming pieces like with the Soul of Chogokin line. That's pretty much the SRC line in a nutshell. Being a Chogokin, it features die cast metal and has a very high degree of articulation available. The line began in 2011 with Mazinger Z, and according to Wikipedia, has been dormant since Spring 2017. Other notable entries into the series include Daizyujin (aka the Megazord from MMPR), Dekaranger Robo (SPD Megazord), GoKaiOh (Super Megaforce Megazord) and Magiking (Mystic Force Megazord)... well I say notable because if you've never heard of any of the classic Anime Super Robos, these are probably the only ones you'd know.
The set itself comes with the main figure, various swords (known as Dou Rin Ken) which based on appearance probably represent power levels (with the exception of the one with the exaggerated proportions, as that one is meant for a visual 3D effect common in many anime), several additional hands, a handle for joining the two golden swords into one massive double bladed weapon, and a head that shows battle damage that is apparently a very common event in the Brave series.
You are further reminded that this is a Bandai product by the lovely adapter that reminds you that airborne poses are possible with this figure, but only if you purchase the appropriate stand, sold separately, of course.
I've never watched the show, as I've said, but my first impression is that the head seems a bit on the small side, making swapping out pieces a pain in the ass.
The abundance of joints on this figure make choosing your favourite pose a difficult task, though the head cannot tilt completely back, though you should be fine with what you have to work with. Furthermore, the head is on a joint, as is the neck piece itself, so you some additional range of motion due to that arrangement. Double jointed knees are nice to have as well, particularly if you do airborne poses. The figure does not appear to have any difficulty holding actual poses, despite the weight the various die cast parts add.
Speaking of die cast, the pieces are predominately found on the legs, which helps with stability of the figure.
Paint work on the SRC line is generally high quality, being a Bandai product and all, with the sole exception being the battle damage head, which has an ugly smear on it. Detailing on the figure itself is pretty consistent with what I would expect to find on an animation model - major details are there, but you wouldn't really find many small details. Of course, being a relatively small figure means that even if you had some minor details, the size of this one would probably make those details disappear anyway.
Overall, I think even if you're not familiar with the Super Robot world, but can appreciate good engineering in your figures, you'll probably find something to like in the SRC series. Even the "classic" figures made in 2011 are probably packed with impressive features. Further pros include the fact that unless it was some super rare convention exclusive, I don't think the SRC figures are particularly expensive to track down, though I could be bias biased due to my success at negotiating.

Because the red fox can be orange, silver, black, or any combination thereof, look for its distinguishing mark: a bushy, white-tipped tail. They also commonly have black "stockings," white undersides, and ears that may be tipped in black outside with white inside. Weighing about 10 to 14 pounds, red foxes are members of the dog family Canidae, and look similar to dogs, wolves, and coyotes. They have long, pointed snouts and erect ears, and are often seen because they prefer open habitats and are not strictly nocturnal.
While they are opportunistic, omnivorous feeders and will eat insects, birds, mice, snakes, rabbits, nuts, berries, and fruits.
The red fox, European rabbit, and Norway rat, were introduced to San Juan Island by humans, which changed the island’s natural balance.

Anyway it was always beautiful views that rised many flying lamps at same time to the sky
Their first three full-length albums are examples of the death/doom style, although the latter two incorporated some melodic and gothic elements. However, with the release of the albums Icon (1993) and Draconian Times (1995), Paradise Lost also became known as pioneers of the gothic metal subgenre. In accordance with the change in musical approach, vocalist Nick Holmes changed his singing style. He used a death grunt on the band's first three albums, but on Icon refined his voice to have a cleaner tone. Later (circa 1997), the band began experimenting with electronic styles but after four albums reverted again to gothic metal.
Their line-up has remained stable for such a long-standing heavy metal band, consisting of singer Nick Holmes, guitarists Greg Mackintosh and Aaron Aedy, and bassist Steve Edmondson. Holmes and Mackintosh are the principal composers, with almost all of the band's songs credited to them. During the years, the band has only changed drummers, with original member Matthew Archer replaced in 1994 by ex-Marshall Law drummer Lee Morris In March 2004, Morris left the band. Jeff Singer took Morris' place and has played on all subsequent releases, though he was not listed as a permanent band member until the release of the single "The Enemy" in 2007. In a recent video interview, Mackintosh and Holmes revealed that Singer had already auditioned for the band when Archer left, but they chose Morris instead because "[Singer] had a pink drumkit"
Because I'd heard Polish traditional food combines meat and fruit, I thought I'd try this. It turns out that the filling was strawberries. Served with cream, this course was a bit like pancakes. So I had pancakes for lunch. Not bad. :)
I love the dirt underneath my fingernails. I love the moist, rotting smell. I love giving life to something that thanks you, just by being alive.

It's already in the mail!
Because I was told I had to.
Not much here really. Actually, it's missing a few Webby books because I've lent them to mates. My music lives with my stereo. Cookery books live in the kitchen. Jo's murder and science books live downstairs.
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

This was going to be just a shot of the tutu that I made my daughter for her last birthday. However, the Ugly Doll (whose name is Wedgehead) looked so sad to not be involved, that I had to include her. I think she likes it. She looks purdy.
Life in Vienna underground
Life in Vienna underground began with the establishment of the Vienna sewer late 19th century, which became a refuge for unemployed and homeless. This was possible because the sewage system always has been largely walkable, even if this is not permissible for unauthorized persons. Against the rising number of shelter seekers eventually the police was involved.
Setting conditions
The completion of the Vienna sewer system fell in a time when Vienna was a rapidly expanding city. The rising job offer attracted a variety of people, of which, however, actually not all could not find work. Social Services as unemployment benefits or health insurance did not yet exist, nor were there homeless shelters or residences, and so the number of beggars and other people who had to live on the streets rose rapidly.
In the Vienna Sewer some people therefore quickly realised a new source of income and property. In heavy rain or thunderstorms, however, drains for inexperienced can become a deadly trap. The development of toxic or explosive gas mixtures (incoming gasoline etc.) can not be excluded too. The "terrible" or even "bestial stench" that is sometimes reported, however, does not prevail there. Even where faecal matter transporting water flows it smells more like in a wet basement, but it does not stink. Nevertheless, the unsecured stay in the sewers is perilous.
The marked by special detail and by lengthy search made on site, image-assisted social reports of Viennese journalists Max Winter and Emil Kläger this problem a large part of the population of Vienna made known and attracted great interest. 1905, Max Winter published his Social Reports from the Vienna underground under the title "In the underground Vienna" in book form. 1920 appeared, based on the social reportages of Emil Kläger, the documentary "Night Piece from the life of vagrants, derailed and fallen man" in Viennese cinemas. Both the newspaper reports and the book and the film are among the first social reports at all.
Sewer as livelihoods
Residents of the Vienna sewer in 1900, under a spiral staircase.
The access ways to the sewer were and are, among other things, housed in so-called "towers" that look like oversized advertising columns. Over spiral staircases one can by these descend into the Viennese "Underworld". Approximately 50 jobless and homeless people, but probably even more, spent a large part of each day with the fishing out of objects from the waste water, the so-called "Strotten". This "Strotters", as they were called soon earned their livelihood partly
by finding coins and jewelry, which though rarely occurred, but especially much earned,
by fishing out of bones and fat for sale at soap factories or
by getting out of all sorts of other useful articles.
Some of these Strotters - but also hundreds of "ordinary" homeless people - even lived in the sewers were they in some passages, chambers and air shafts found opportunities for "lving".
Shelters
The probably most well-known accommodation for the homeless and Strotters was the Zwingburg installed in a dry chamber under the Vienna Schwarzenberg sqaure. The name not least is based on the fact that it could only be reached by a drawn board, which had to be placed over a channel and at any time could be retracted. So even the police in the short run could be prevented from entering. In addition, the "fortress" Zwingburg had several escape routes in the form of side channels and shafts.
Police pursuit
Although the stay of unauthorized persons in the sewers, of course, was not allowed, the police but apprehended Strotters and homeless people could not too long detain. The number of homeless people and Strotters only diminished when in 1934 the "channel Brigade" was established, which should proceed harder not only against criminal gangs but also against vagabonds. In the meantime, also hostels for the homeless and dormitories had arisen that at least for a part of the "canal residents" could offer a reasonable alternative", such as the Meldemann street men's hostel, which became known due to the fact that Adolf Hitler three years spent here.
Today's meaning
Apart from World War II and the postwar period, as Allied secret agents drains of the divided city knew how to exploit them for themselves, upon which the film "The Third Man" is based plays the drains today due to many social institutions whose establishment with social democratic governments in the "Red Vienna " have their beginning as a refuge no significant role anymore. The latest newspaper reports about Strotters stem from the late 1950s, the term and the with it associated activities, however, at that time still a large part of the population of Vienna were known.
