One of the things I'm working on at the moment (28_04_08). The first piece of beading I've done for a while.
The boys each have a "special girl" in their lives that they wanted to make a Christmas gift for, so I let them into my bead stash and they strung bracelets.

When Style and Greyhound Sentiment Matters

Funds raised go towards the $14,000 vet bill that greyhounds Opal and Rider accumulated after a devastating hit and run accident. Opal’s eye popped out but was successfully put back in. Rider’s spleen was removed and he suffered over 800 stitches. Both hounds are on the mend as is Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mead.

This bag is finally finished!! This bag has moved 4 times with me and I started it over ten years ago. Or rather, the bag was done ten years ago and I've been procrastinating finishing the flat peyote stitch strap for over ten years.

My very first try at beading... toyoka's dress looked so bare, so i decided to glam her up a bit. shes with her new mum now :)
First few rows of the beaded net... wanted to finish the skein before breaking it to get beads on, but it kept going and going and... so I broke it and added beads.
Anissa had a very very nice dress, gorgeous beading, folds of slightly off white fabric. IT was nice :)
Beading and Jewelry Making Initiative is a pioneering project aiming at equipping Beading and Jewelry Making skills through training to grassroots women of rural Nakasajja- Gayaza community in Mukono District so as to create employment opportunities and reduce poverty in Uganda. With the help of the community chairman, twenty (20) women will be outreached in order to train in Beading and Jewelry making as a way to increase employment opportunities and curb poverty in the area and also encourage them to gain hands on skills since most of them are not educated to search for white color jobs they instead have to be job creators and not job seekers. Products to be produced will include; Bracelets, Earrings, Necklaces, rings, watchbands, key chains and bags. This will serve as a source of employment enabling them to earn a living thus contributing to their households needs.
The first free-form quilt I have made with non-traditional techniques. I used old jeans for the main fabrics and embellished with beads, metal, buttons, and hand embroidery. It is supposed to show what a busy and loud life we all lead together! And it is supposed to hang crooked on purpose!
