Katsucon 2022 Best of Show

 

A project where I dug into a lot of new techniques. Jacket drafted off a vintage 1980's jacket. Lots of hand beading embellishment. A crazy wig, and of course, making his personalized shoes from scratch. These are my second pair of welted shoes built from scratch.

This bag is finally finished!! This bag has moved 4 times with me and I started it over ten years ago. Or rather, the bag was done ten years ago and I've been procrastinating finishing the flat peyote stitch strap for over ten years.

This was a prototype for a dread tube hope_persists commissioned me to make ages ago, and I just now got around to photographing. I think maybe it needs to be larger.

My very first try at beading... toyoka's dress looked so bare, so i decided to glam her up a bit. shes with her new mum now :)

Right Angle Weave

I learned this on the train.

First few rows of the beaded net... wanted to finish the skein before breaking it to get beads on, but it kept going and going and... so I broke it and added beads.

This handy little item is a small sample of the intricacies of beading. This card holder measures 10 x 7 cm.

it's starting to get a tiny bit faster now! at least i'm not getting hand cramps from the world's tiniest crochet hook.

 

there are 3 more rows of the every-other-stitch beading, then it's not so intense.

Took advantage of the snow and rain and took a couple photos

The boys each have a "special girl" in their lives that they wanted to make a Christmas gift for, so I let them into my bead stash and they strung bracelets.
