opera cloak, beading detail. Beading of this kind is usually done by placing a string of beads on the fabric and whip-stitching. This beader stitched every bead on individually, and I hope she charged well for it!
Swarovski came out with Maragrite beads this year and there have been a zillion different trees coming out. These are for the office and DL girls.

Czech beads, Japanese beads, crystals, plastic beads, river pearls, ametrins, rubys, artificial leather.
Netted ornament with thai seed beads, bugles and crystal bicones. I had seen numerous netted designs so this isn't an incredibly original idea, but the construction of this ornament was of my own design and not following any particular pattern or idea. The decreases on the second half took several attempts to get right.
As I was beading the jacket, I was envisioning it on a blue ornament, but then Andrew and I liked how it looked on this subdued gold.
