I just finish this beading work this morning at 3am. Lucky my darling keep me company by watching armagaddon last nite. The customer just gave me 3 days to complete this with extra 2 beading work on the front flower motive. With a good cooperation from my ninja little hafiz and a great big help from my darling i manage to finish it on time. Thanks my love.
As part of the "Think You're Unique" beading challenge on Etsy, I was sent a package with these beads, and had to make earrings. Not my usual style, that's for sure! Still, I like these dangles, finished with antiqued brass wire and hooks. Kind of an ethnic/natural look.
Hand rolled in the village of Ndejje by Mzuribeads cooperative. Strips of recycled paper are cut into triangles, and rolled tighlty around a needle. The beads are then hung up and varnished for a waterproof and glossy finish. No paint involved, the colours are determined on the specific pages selected.
We are Mzuribeads, and have an online store. We sell retail and wholesale worldwide.

1st place, dimensional beading, 10 sq. in. or less, advanced/professional class, 2012 Boulder County Fair.
Our assignment in photography class was to fill the frame as much as we could with one color but still maintain texture and depth within the shot. I chose prom dresses to shoot.
I like this one because of how richly the beading picked up on the red of the dress but I don't like the lack of depth...it just looks too flat to me.
Entry into the Australian Beading forum wirework challenge "Head wear". I created freeform "crazy lace" head band with beads woven in and an Eni Oken inspired focal in place of a flower :)
"Swags and Tails" from Julie Ashford's "Spellbound Festive Beading" done with thai seed beads and crystal bicones
My fourth beaded ornament, inspired by the Olympic Winter Games of 2010 as much as anything else. I began with the gold-tone "Celebrate" charm and tried out various beading techniques around the charm and each of the glass millefiori discs.
Cotton fabric and batting, metal charm, glass beads, sequins, Peltex, watercolor paper.
Part of an Eid gift for a friend who I am sure doesn't check on Flickr. :)
I used a blank greeting card to make a bookmark. I cut it so that it has the double thickness and glued them together, utilizing the already-created fold. Then beaded the top - amber Czech glass beads, olive seed beeds in between, and green&gold glass beads for the ends.
When I went to take a photo outdoors in natural light, this is the only (of several taken) that didn't turn out completely white! You can see the card color and design in the next photo, taken indoors.
Another fabric collage celebrating the fact that I am turning 50 this year --- well in 2006! Another piece done in a class with Susan Sorrell at Joggles - a great site for online classes.
Possibly my two least favourite beading tools, but... well, there you are. I don't mind the one made out of beech, but I much prefer the heft and solidity of japanned cast iron or bronze.
I wish I had taken a picture of the first pair, but I gave them to their intended recipient before I did so. Andrew's aunt Bonnie had commissioned me to make a pair of "white coral earrings" for his aunt Betty for Christmas. His aunt Barb admired them, too, but requested a pair that was shorter. This is the smaller pair.

I am pretty happy with how this turned out, but I haven't yet figured out a good way to pin it to my coat so that it doesn't twist around on itself.

My friend Jackie so generously shared all her goodies (including her chocolate stash!) with me yesterday and I had a splendid time starting out making my own set of chimes like these with her instruction. The kids liked hammering out their spoons flat and using the press drill to make the hole. A thrill for a five-year-old. The most time-consuming part, of course, is the beading. I'll finish my beading at home and then go back to Jackie's place for lesson #2 -- how to hang them.
Fibulae are an ancient form of broach which was used by the Greeks and Romans on cloaks and tunics. Most were highly curved with a hinge on the pin and were highly decorative along the spine. This is my attempt at this ancient form of jewelry in Gunmetal and bronze. It was suppose to be an entry into the Australian Beading forum "Fall of Troy" week for the year of Jewelry, but it came a bit late
