Trying out a new background for taking pictures.
A simple duplicate of my 2020 Thomisid MK II Anti-Air quad mech. This time in Desert Camo.
One of my favorite mech MOCs, the Thomisid MK II is designed to be quick and easy to to build, while still having a versatile utilitarian style. The original gray MK II only took me two days to build after spending a couple months on the more complex MK I.
The Thomisid mechs are designed to be able to squat close to the ground with a low profile due to their spider-like form, but can also stand tall as a patrol walker and to peek over cover. Lastly, they can fold up their legs into a compact position for easy storage and transportation.
Named after real life Crab Spiders, these mechs are ment to be a mobile fire support emplacement turret, and so far I've only made them all for Anti-Air, equipped with 4 Flak cannons, a SSAM-8 missile pods, and a couple chin-mounted anti-personell defense machine guns.
The 35-ton Myrmidon, while not able to go toe to toe with larger assault-class mechs, is capable of holding its own in a fight, thanks to its twin-linked autocannons, large pulse laser, and missle pod.

NGH , short for Neon Green Horror...is the classification given to this recently captured Mech that appears to be alien in origin. Our scientists here at Canis Arms have yet to determine its capabilities. They have conjectured that the main cannons in the arms are ER PPC analogs, and that the tentacles sprouting from the head are equivalent to ER Small Pulse lasers. However, until they manage to crack open the body of this construct (which is where they assume the pilot is), it is all guesswork.
Back view, showing off the small dash thrusters, the main gun's storage mount, and the 'butt flaps' that help give the mech a bit of a kilt form.
The Heckler is a bit of a hybrid build that takes the arms from the Peltast and legs from the Heron. Combined with a new torso design, it all combines into a mechsuit heavily inspired by Titanfall (particularly Ion and Tone). It stands halfway between the height of the two parent mechs.
A bit of backstory for the choice of name:
#1: I was rather... heckled by what I should call this thing for about 3 days. My usual naming trend has ancient warriors for humanoids, and animals for walker types. Nothing stuck out to me, even mythical hybrid beasts and animals. So the fact that this bugged me for so long is kinda fitting lol.
#2: The fact that it completely reuses whole sections of older mech designs was something I kinda did for the... heck of it. I initially was going to redesign the reused parts but the pre-existing limbs mixed well enough together that I decided it not worth trying to overhaul them.
#3: It being a smaller mech with a lower profile better suited to guerrilla warfare or infantry support, it could be used to harass bigger mechs and vehicles.
#4: Canis Arms Corporation (whom I've met in person) has a small mech of similar size called the Taunt. So calling my new design 'Heckler' fits with that too lol.
So with all that I'm just going to go with it.
As for equipment, the Heckler is able to use the same handheld weapons that the Peltast can. The standard has a heavier Gauss rifle with Micro-Missiles on the back, and a pair of small Rayguns on the wrist of each forearm.
The result of a Clan Coyote and Clan Ghost Bear Colaboration, the Ice Troll is a formidable weapons platform with above average speed for a 60 ton Battlemech

Two photos from the crypt! I build this model in the late 80's / early 90's entirely with parts from Blacktron 1 sets.
( see collection here:
www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?M=sp001&in=S
The model, is supposed to be a MadCat mecha from Battletech ...hey, it was a long time ago.
Those photos are from 1990/91 and I scan them in 1997... twenty years ago so it was time for me publish them. Yes, the quality sucks a lot, the camera was good but I'm a poor photographer and shot a very few things untill the first digital cameras reach the market and changed my life ;)
This one need a serious reboot.
Now with smooth torso design. Still looking for a better arm design... 3L bars in light bley would be nice...
Ever since I had the privileged opportunity to suggest this cockpit be moulded in the iconic Blacktron I colours, I have dreamed of putting it into a MOC worthy of the amazing 80's aesthetic that the Snow Speeder windscreen just SCREAMS. To me, that's an attack-helicopter with legs a-la Mechwarrior/Battletech - something in the realm of the Marauder/Catapult (Mad Cat / Timber Wolf / Stormcrow / Viper ) variety. Since the amazing set The Force Burner Snowspeederâ„¢ 75414
designed by Daniel Lehmann released last month, and because he graciously outed me as the catalyst for the windscreen's bold look, I have endeavoured to make my retro bipedal Battle Mech. I used a TON of vintage parts and tried to stick closely to the original design language and pattern of the Blacktron I sets. This model is my sturdiest Mech MOC yet! Incorporating dynamic posing, I could achieve this cool pose, and with some supports it could definitely get into a running position. It has working actuators and armor panels that adapt to the shifts in the legs, seats two pilots, and has a winch for them to ascend to the main body from the ground. I am planning to do some outdoor/diorama scenes with SPI getting their comeuppance, but it is an ABSOLUTE dust magnet so I ran to the office for some beauty shots. If you want the whole story of the windscreen, ask me in person. This will be at Skærbæk 2025. I hope you enjoy!!!
First produced in 2491, and originally classified as an assault mech, the 65-ton Thunderbolt remains a tough opponent on any battlefield. The 9M variant carries a Light Guass Rifle and an LRM-15 with two tons of ammunition as its primary weapons systems, making it a formidable, if slightly ammo dependadnt, long-range hitter. For close range, the 'mech is equiped with a trio of Extended Range Medium Lasers, mounted in the left torso. This variant is also equiped with jump jets, and has a jumping range of 120 meters (they're supposed to be on the legs, but I cheated and put them on the torso because I think it looks cooler; don't tell anyone). The 9m carries 12.5 tons of armor and has a top running speed of 64.8 km/h.

Inspired by the BattleTech machine of the same name (from "Technical Readout 2750"). I think this may actually be the right size to play with on a regular BattleTech hex map.
So being inspired by one of Shannon Oceans recent mechs www.flickr.com/photos/10104652@N06/7446358780/in/photostream I decided to try a smaller then fig scale mech with some design similarities to the battletech universe.
I chose to base my frame on the ShadowCat (an underated small one) www.jadefalconclan.com/wiki/index.php?title=Shadow_Cat and then got a little creative, but I don't think I strayed too far from the basic design (seeing as the design for this frame seem to be plentiful).
A couple more pics for the road with no base, different lighting, and a different backdrop. Lets you see some of the details a bit better, but I find the darker ones a bit more appealing myself.
Flickr member Tagl suggested that I add cheese slopes on each side of the white stripe to give the mech a more rounded look. I have to say, the model now looks a lot better. Thanks, Tagl!
In addition, Eurobrick members didn't like my old arm assembly, so I have modified that as well, and moved the torso one stud back.
I spent some time clean up the color scheme of the Tribunal (I removed all the brown.) I also completely redesigned the legs. I am definitely going to have to declare it a super heavy mech as far as Battletech is concerned.
The Hoplite/D's electronics package also equipped its pilot with several indirect offensive systems including operational probes and a number of different battlefield flares fitted to both the rear torso and side calves. Even though the Hoplite was intended for shortrange combat, models supporting the electronics package were also fitted with enhanced scopes and rangefinders giving lance elements the ability to recon target areas before an assault. Electronic components can also relay recon info to smaller intelligence units who then may pass targeting data on to long range combat elements.
