NGH , short for Neon Green Horror...is the classification given to this recently captured Mech that appears to be alien in origin. Our scientists here at Canis Arms have yet to determine its capabilities. They have conjectured that the main cannons in the arms are ER PPC analogs, and that the tentacles sprouting from the head are equivalent to ER Small Pulse lasers. However, until they manage to crack open the body of this construct (which is where they assume the pilot is), it is all guesswork.

So being inspired by one of Shannon Oceans recent mechs www.flickr.com/photos/10104652@N06/7446358780/in/photostream I decided to try a smaller then fig scale mech with some design similarities to the battletech universe.

I chose to base my frame on the ShadowCat (an underated small one) www.jadefalconclan.com/wiki/index.php?title=Shadow_Cat and then got a little creative, but I don't think I strayed too far from the basic design (seeing as the design for this frame seem to be plentiful).

A couple more pics for the road with no base, different lighting, and a different backdrop. Lets you see some of the details a bit better, but I find the darker ones a bit more appealing myself.

Lego mech, built around 1996?

Flickr member Tagl suggested that I add cheese slopes on each side of the white stripe to give the mech a more rounded look. I have to say, the model now looks a lot better. Thanks, Tagl!

In addition, Eurobrick members didn't like my old arm assembly, so I have modified that as well, and moved the torso one stud back.

I spent some time clean up the color scheme of the Tribunal (I removed all the brown.) I also completely redesigned the legs. I am definitely going to have to declare it a super heavy mech as far as Battletech is concerned.

The Hoplite/D's electronics package also equipped its pilot with several indirect offensive systems including operational probes and a number of different battlefield flares fitted to both the rear torso and side calves. Even though the Hoplite was intended for shortrange combat, models supporting the electronics package were also fitted with enhanced scopes and rangefinders giving lance elements the ability to recon target areas before an assault. Electronic components can also relay recon info to smaller intelligence units who then may pass targeting data on to long range combat elements.

A rare in-person find of the old boat piece in tan let me make a new desert camo version.

Named after a bird known for slowly wading through swamps looking for prey, the Heron is a very light mech that can stalk targets all the same.

This variant is equipped for more standard combat, featuring a pair of light Gauss Cannons, one on each side, in addition to the standard pair of chin-mounted light machine guns and rear SSAM-2s.

Inspired by various Metal Gears, Star Wars walkers, and the Halo Mantis, among others. Thanks to not having a human form, the Heron succeeded the Peltast as my smallest mech design and was the last mostly completed build of 2020. To this day in 2024 it is still my smallest minifig-compatible mech.

My favorite things about this MOC are the use of the old, discontinued boat piece inverted and used to form the bulk of the turret head, and the panels used as 'butt-flaps' (lol) to armor up and add some form to the rear of the legs without sacrificing articulation. Lastly, the rear access ladder folds up between the legs when not in use.

A duplicate Thomisid quad mech build refit with a pair of excavator arms for digging operations. Also equipped with a chin-mounted laser welder.

I finally made a Thomisid variant that isn't Anti-Air... Once I saw the old Bionicle shovel claws, I knew what I wanted to do here, and channeled a little bit of WALL-E with the boxy arms and yellow. I thought about going further with treads, but kept the legs both due to lack of time to make something new, and I still wanted to keep this as a definitive mech. The simple, utilitarian style of this design has been consistently fun to rebuild, especially with how nicely it all folds up for transport.

While I wanted some sort of traditional 'construction' hazard yellow trim coloring, I still wanted to keep using light gray as a primary color. Then with trans-light-blue, a new non-military subdivision color scheme was born. All thanks to the prompting of a recent LUG display.

Initially inspired by the basic MT enemy mechs from Armored Core 6 (after finally getting to play it). Then with a bit of the Avatar AMPsuit, Titanfall, and Battletech/Mechwarrior thrown in.

AC6's in-game dialog mentions the MTs having an emergency eject, but the in-game models don't show anywhere such a hatch might go. So, for the Jarhead I added my own, using a modified Thomisid MK II turret as the basis for the torso.

Jarhead mechsuits are purposely designed to be cheap, rugged, simple to build and easy to mass-produce. Essentially serving as basic footsoldier mechs for army-building. Hence the name (which the hatch-dome also helps give the image of lol). They can use handheld weapons borrowed from my other mech designs, with back-mounted weapons such as missile pods for fire support.

I removed the structures from the arctic baseplates and added a second smoke stack. I also added two parking lots as well as an access for the underground maintenance tunnels.

While working on terrain, I found my self stuck in mech building mode, so I made three copies of the Arctides in different color schemes.

Ever since I had the privileged opportunity to suggest this cockpit be moulded in the iconic Blacktron I colours, I have dreamed of putting it into a MOC worthy of the amazing 80's aesthetic that the Snow Speeder windscreen just SCREAMS. To me, that's an attack-helicopter with legs a-la Mechwarrior/Battletech - something in the realm of the Marauder/Catapult (Mad Cat / Timber Wolf / Stormcrow / Viper ) variety. Since the amazing set The Force Burner Snowspeederâ„¢ 75414

designed by Daniel Lehmann released last month, and because he graciously outed me as the catalyst for the windscreen's bold look, I have endeavoured to make my retro bipedal Battle Mech. I used a TON of vintage parts and tried to stick closely to the original design language and pattern of the Blacktron I sets. This model is my sturdiest Mech MOC yet! Incorporating dynamic posing, I could achieve this cool pose, and with some supports it could definitely get into a running position. It has working actuators and armor panels that adapt to the shifts in the legs, seats two pilots, and has a winch for them to ascend to the main body from the ground. I am planning to do some outdoor/diorama scenes with SPI getting their comeuppance, but it is an ABSOLUTE dust magnet so I ran to the office for some beauty shots. If you want the whole story of the windscreen, ask me in person. This will be at Skærbæk 2025. I hope you enjoy!!!

Weighing roughly 90tons, the Hoplite boasted slightly above average speed and maneuverability. Full leg articulation allowed the Hoplite to traverse rough terrain at a reasonable rate. With firepower below that of other 'mech's in its class, the Hoplite depended on strategically placed armor components to outlive its opponents. Seen here are the reinforced kneecaps, ankle covers, and the heavily plated front ventilated core.

Wanted to do something akin to a Battletech Hunchback.

Trying out a new background for taking pictures.

Unlike my Atlas, this build is essentially just a modification of Primus' elegantly simple model which I found on Brickcommander. This version uses a six-shooter assembly piece for the SRM-6, which looks perfect and gives it play function.

This robot paper model is a Shadow Cat, a heavily-armed and maneuverable medium OmniMech developed by Clan Nova Cat to replace the Ice Ferret in the early 31st century during preparations for Operation Revival, based on the video game MechWarrior 3, the paper model is created by Small Realities....

Finally got the nerve to move this bad boy and get some proper pics. From The BrickCommander Builds, I give you.. the Marauder.

This is my complete display as shown at BrickCan 2016. Indented to display a Jenner out maneuvering a Summoner. Inspired by a mission from the classic pc simulator: Mechwarrior 2.

This version of the Heckler hybrid mechsuit is most notably equipped with extra Ion thrusters on the back in addition to the standard dash boosters. Carrying a light Gauss Assault Rifle, this Trooper variant is highly maneuverable in hostile low-gravity environments. Perfect for exploratory expeditions in deep space.

The Heckler is a bit of a hybrid build that takes the arms from the Peltast and legs from the Heron. Combined with a new torso design, it all combines into a mechsuit heavily inspired by Titanfall (particularly Ion and Tone). It stands halfway between the height of the two parent mechs.

A bit of backstory for the choice of name:

#1: I was rather... heckled by what I should call this thing for about 3 days. My usual naming trend has ancient warriors for humanoids, and animals for walker types. Nothing stuck out to me, even mythical hybrid beasts and animals. So the fact that this bugged me for so long is kinda fitting lol.

#2: The fact that it completely reuses whole sections of older mech designs was something I kinda did for the... heck of it. I initially was going to redesign the reused parts but the pre-existing limbs mixed well enough together that I decided it not worth trying to overhaul them.

#3: It being a smaller mech with a lower profile better suited to guerrilla warfare or infantry support, it could be used to harass bigger mechs and vehicles.

#4: Canis Arms Corporation (whom I've met in person) has a small mech of similar size called the Taunt. So calling my new design 'Heckler' fits with that too lol.

So with all that I'm just going to go with it.

As for equipment, the Heckler is able to use the same handheld weapons that the Peltast can. The standard has a heavier Gauss rifle with Micro-Missiles on the back, and a pair of small Rayguns on the wrist of each forearm.
