I wasn’t able to properly participate in Mechtober this year, but did manage one Mech Monday build. Lots of inspiration taken from this artwork. Features spinning saw blades, opening rollcage, working crane and grabber arm. Was lots of fun working in this industrial style, and using lots of bright light orange.

Special thanks to Marin for providing extra incentive to build a mech!

Plenty more images on Brickbuilt.

100ton Assault Class Mech

Juggernaut and Close Assault

Inspired by the old BattleTech hex maps, mostly.

A good friend, and avid MWO player, set me a challenge - build a Timber Wolf he said - So here it is, one for the Mechwarrior/Battletech fans.

If you like the MOC, and would like one of your own, please head to LEGO Ideas and hit support and it could become an official set.

Here is a second attempt with the legs and torso from the Strider mech. Struggled over this for quite a while Still some colour blocking that needs to change.. now that I'm looking at the photos.. the orange on the side has to go.

The IMP was down on round two after taking two shots to the head. His egg was cracked. The Phoenix tech Ostsol proved to be an excellent ride and the targetting computer combined with light AC/5 really worked well.

WHR-6D and CPLT-C1, painted in ComGuard parade colours.

I wanted to merge classic BattleTech style with a torso inspired by modern tanks. Feedback is always welcome!

The Dire Raven has an unusual way of accessing the cockpit

A very light scouting mech known for its bug-like eyes.

Getting back into rendering Lego mocs with some of the new (to me) tools available.

Just getting my mechs in a row to show how the scale for each one is kind of a one-off.

An excellent defender of secured positions, the Mid-Lander operates close to home due to it's ammo resupply needs. This is not a limitation however, as it has been tailored to suit to the task of patrol and first line defense.

A smaller scale, red mechwarrior styled build. I wanted this design to look a bit like a Highlander.. It's not an exact copy, but hopefully has the same feel. Maybe like to try a larger fig version at some point.

I spent an hour tying to get it in a striding pose on that backdrop. Its not pretty (well, in my opinion), but hey it works!

Title shot, with the mechsuit overlooking a minifig soldier. Meant to use him as the pilot. Oops. Still would make good cover art.

The Heckler is a bit of a hybrid build that takes the arms from the Peltast and legs from the Heron. Combined with a new torso design, it all combines into a mechsuit heavily inspired by Titanfall (particularly Ion and Tone). It stands halfway between the height of the two parent mechs.

A bit of backstory for the choice of name:

#1: I was rather... heckled by what I should call this thing for about 3 days. My usual naming trend has ancient warriors for humanoids, and animals for walker types. Nothing stuck out to me, even mythical hybrid beasts and animals. So the fact that this bugged me for so long is kinda fitting lol.

#2: The fact that it completely reuses whole sections of older mech designs was something I kinda did for the... heck of it. I initially was going to redesign the reused parts but the pre-existing limbs mixed well enough together that I decided it not worth trying to overhaul them.

#3: It being a smaller mech with a lower profile better suited to guerrilla warfare or infantry support, it could be used to harass bigger mechs and vehicles.

#4: Canis Arms Corporation (whom I've met in person) has a small mech of similar size called the Taunt. So calling my new design 'Heckler' fits with that too lol.

So with all that I'm just going to go with it.

As for equipment, the Heckler is able to use the same handheld weapons that the Peltast can. The standard has a heavier Gauss rifle with Micro-Missiles on the back, and a pair of small Rayguns on the wrist of each forearm.

In fact, this is one of my older MOCs that I have built over two years ago. Some of you probably already know it from my Brickshelf gallery or Brothers-Brick. I have only reviewed some of the photos and they are now displayed in a slightly higher resolution.

For everyone who does not know it yet: this MOC is my favorite mecha from the Classic BattleTech series...in fact it is a Robotech design, but in the beginning it was also used for Battletech until it became "unseen"...whatever...I love this 75 ton steel monster...even if it is made of plastic....

Vaugely battletech inspired.

#inktober Timber Wolf aka Mad Cat from #MechWarrior (aka #BattleTech). Love the old MechWarrior series, especially MW4: Mercenaries - one of my all-time favs. Such a fantastic game. #inktober2019

Finally got around building again...

Tried out some new poses and lighting

More Battletech inspired stuff. Also inspired by Pascal, Nate, SuperHardcoreDave, Ironsniper and, well, pretty much everyone else here on Flickr :)

Medium size warmachine inspired by Battletech and Warhammer 40k.

The left image should look like the old drawings in the Battletech hardware readouts. Hope you like it.

It's been so cool to build on Tyutyu's work and have him build on it in turn- this improved version incorporates his new leg design and nose.

Not Battletech/Mechwarrior. Mobile Frame Zero.

My take on the older renditions of the Locust of Battletech Fame.

Ever since I had the privileged opportunity to suggest this cockpit be moulded in the iconic Blacktron I colours, I have dreamed of putting it into a MOC worthy of the amazing 80's aesthetic that the Snow Speeder windscreen just SCREAMS. To me, that's an attack-helicopter with legs a-la Mechwarrior/Battletech - something in the realm of the Marauder/Catapult (Mad Cat / Timber Wolf / Stormcrow / Viper ) variety.

Since the amazing set The Force Burner Snowspeeder™ 75414

designed by Daniel Lehmann released last month, and because he graciously outed me as the catalyst for the windscreen's bold look, I have endeavoured to make my retro bipedal Battle Mech. I used a TON of vintage parts and tried to stick closely to the original design language and pattern of the Blacktron I sets. This model is my sturdiest Mech MOC yet!

Incorporating dynamic posing, I could achieve this cool pose, and with some supports it could definitely get into a running position. It has working actuators and armor panels that adapt to the shifts in the legs, seats two pilots, and has a winch for them to ascend to the main body from the ground. I am planning to do some outdoor/diorama scenes with SPI getting their comeuppance, but it is an ABSOLUTE dust magnet so I ran to the office for some beauty shots. If you want the whole story of the windscreen, ask me in person. This will be at Skærbæk 2025. I hope you enjoy!!!

The Trooper (left) and Retrotech (right) variants of the base Heckler hybrid mechsuit are both built to showcase the chassis versatility and customizability while maintaining a similar theme.

So I had a few spare hours and decided to digitalize a MOC, something I've never really tried. Gotta say, you guys who do this with enormous MOCs, you're insane and I salute you lol

Also I submitted it to Rebrickable so hopefully it gets accepted, and I may offer it for download or sale if you guys would be interested in building your own shrew. It's pretty simple, only about 300 parts.

different focus

I love Macross to much to call it a Marauder, but I love Battletech too much to call it a Glaug pod.

Made a compromise.
