Assault Mech 80 tons

Alpha Strike!

Using some cool snowflake elements to simulate muzzle flash for the big ballistic cannon up top and the PPCs in the arms.

As suspected the weight was too great for the hips using the technic liftarm connector elements so I had to switch it out for the hips used in my Timberwolf Moc. Much more stable and no crashing over.

One of the iconic BattleTech designs that were stolen from somewhere else, though I don't know where the Crusader originally came from.

Fairly happy with this one.

Latest project I've been chipping away at, really got inspired by the new speed champions canopy. Wanted to work in the sharp new slopes but no luck so far

My Wife for putting up with me making “pew pew pew” laser sounds for 2 weeks.

Rob Deakin – Inside the Brick for his Brick printing, the Federated Suns Logos are seen to be believed.

Jim Foulds from the LEGO group – He gave a speech at Sydbricks in 2012 about how cool it is to remake models you made as a child and what they would look like now. – Well here is mine.

DeviantArt - the artist “Punakettu” for his 3D version on the classic Battletech Warhammer model which I used as my inspiration.

BattleTech Vultures in 7p scale for Mobile Frame Zero.

Hi everyone,

This is my custom Lego Vulture or Mad Dog from Mechwarrior and Battletech.

For a closer look, check out my new youtube channel:

youtu.be/DQV0WexSABE

I will be posting more custom content to this channel in the future so stay tuned!

The vulture features a opening cockpit with room for one pilot figure as well as articulation everywhere you would expect! The trickiest part of the build is making the legs sturdy enough, but also articulate where they need to.

Glamour shots now it's finally finished! Lots of thanks to www.flickr.com/people/145628788@N07/ for his instructions for this guy, I couldn't help but tweak them ;)

BattleTech mechs!

Design by Francisco Duarte: medium.com/@metastablemachine

I like these a lot. Despite their small size, they look like big, heavy mechs!

Better feet yet again, plus some minor other improvements (not all visible here). I think the color scheme works nicely for Clan Ghost Bear. Now I need to build either a hangar or a snowy outdoor scene to display this guy in.

Upgraded with thicker upper legs and a few other tweaks.

Here it is now in the brick, with some details changed due to restrictions of the yellow part of my collection.

Standing relaxed and cool.

The Heckler is a bit of a hybrid build that takes the arms from the Peltast and legs from the Heron. Combined with a new torso design, it all combines into a mechsuit heavily inspired by Titanfall (particularly Ion and Tone). It stands halfway between the height of the two parent mechs.

A bit of backstory for the choice of name:

#1: I was rather... heckled by what I should call this thing for about 3 days. My usual naming trend has ancient warriors for humanoids, and animals for walker types. Nothing stuck out to me, even mythical hybrid beasts and animals. So the fact that this bugged me for so long is kinda fitting lol.

#2: The fact that it completely reuses whole sections of older mech designs was something I kinda did for the... heck of it. I initially was going to redesign the reused parts but the pre-existing limbs mixed well enough together that I decided it not worth trying to overhaul them.

#3: It being a smaller mech with a lower profile better suited to guerrilla warfare or infantry support, it could be used to harass bigger mechs and vehicles.

#4: Canis Arms Corporation (whom I've met in person) has a small mech of similar size called the Taunt. So calling my new design 'Heckler' fits with that too lol.

So with all that I'm just going to go with it.

As for equipment, the Heckler is able to use the same handheld weapons that the Peltast can. The standard has a heavier Gauss rifle with Micro-Missiles on the back, and a pair of small Rayguns on the wrist of each forearm.

It’s mid-scale mecha time. Going for a general battletech aesthetic here with no particular model in mind.

View in original size for best effect.

my updated light mech with M1NDxBEND3R's locust light mech, reminds me of the Battletech Protomechs a lot

First produced in 2491, and originally classified as an assault mech, the 65-ton Thunderbolt remains a tough opponent on any battlefield. The 9M variant carries a Light Guass Rifle and an LRM-15 with two tons of ammunition as its primary weapons systems, making it a formidable, if slightly ammo dependadnt, long-range hitter. For close range, the 'mech is equiped with a trio of Extended Range Medium Lasers, mounted in the left torso. This variant is also equiped with jump jets, and has a jumping range of 120 meters (they're supposed to be on the legs, but I cheated and put them on the torso because I think it looks cooler; don't tell anyone). The 9m carries 12.5 tons of armor and has a top running speed of 64.8 km/h.

An example of the modularity of my designs and the fun of Lego. What happens when you swap the torso on the Thomisid and Jarhead mechs?

You get the Jarhead Centaur and the Thomis-head Biped. I'd say the former works better than the latter.
