basil farm // waianae, HI // fuji x pro 1 - 35mm

we've planted basil in the community garden before, but i've never seen a farm like this before. we came across it when we went to pick up a pig in the waianae

My husband bought some basil to plant in the garden, but first I too some pictures of it.

A smelled this huge patch of basil several yards before I actually saw it. I don't find it a particularly pleasant fragrance, but where would we be without it in the kitchen.

Basil reading his way

Basilico: very important in our dishes. Indispensable to make Pesto sauce.

Basil on the beach who live's in Spain.

Surrounded by early-morning haze we woke up in one of the most remarkable abandoned buildings we have explored so far: the Sanatorium du Basil. It’s a ridiculously huge place where people with tuberculosis used to be treated many years ago. Off the beaten path this site is deserted today – most rooms are empty and decay is progressing fast. The sanatorium is in constant change due to a lot of new visitors. Obviously we weren’t able to avoid doing a visit here by ourselves. So have fun joining our exploration of the impressive Sanatorium du Basil!

God did this basil look awful, I'm really terrible at gardening that's a fact. Hopefully I'm able to grow older and learn that stuff while I'm retired.
