L'édification de la basilique de Santa Croce à Florence débuta en 1294 sur les plans d'Arnolfo di Cambio ; il s'agit de la plus grande église franciscaine au monde. Construite aux frais du peuple et de la République florentine, elle s'éleva sur les fondations d'une petite église bâtie en 1252 par les frères peu de temps après la mort de saint François, hors des murs de la ville.

I bought one of those tiny supermarket herb in pots(against advice), expecting it to last a few days and die (as usual). This time I put it into a larger pot, watered it from tray beneath and kept it in conservatory. It took off, we have used it all Summer and it has grown to this 40 cm wide specimen!. Probably keep it as a pet.

utilisant un puissant téléobjectif , il fallait attendre la bonne lumière et ce passage pour y faire un cliché assez insolite. La turbulence des sorties de réacteurs brouille l'image en arrière plan.
While we were in the UK Basil moved into our Toldo (sliding canopy). We have to get up before daylight to pull the canopy over before he hangs himself/herself up in it. Basil is resident whilst we are away. Captured by hubby Dominic...:)
