St Leonard, Southminster, Essex
The wilds of the Dengie Peninsula, home to the Saxon chapel of Bradfield as well as its near neighbour the nuclear power station, are punctuated by two urban moments. Maldon is in the north-west at the mouth of the Blackwater, and on the south side are Southminster and the larger Burnham-on-Crouch. The church is a huge thing, like a great grey animal sprawled ungainly against the high street. The outer gates were latched open. 'Welcome to St Leonard's!' said the sign, and 'turn handle clockwise to open!'. Well, I turned the handle, but it didn't open. It was 4.10pm, and I can only assume they locked the church at 4pm, or perhaps that was the time the timer switched the lock shut. A disappointment, for I had looked forward to exploring this cruciform church, which seems to be something of a curiosity. I shall obviously have to go back.
This tree is found on the path up to Badby Woods. It reminds me of the tree that swallows up the hobbits in Lord of the Rings.

Picture from the United States Air Force Museum at WrightPatterson Air Force Base in Dayton Ohio. Most C-124s were transferred to the Air Force Reserve and the Air National Guard by 1970, and all were released from active service in mid-1974. The aircraft on display was assigned to the 165th Tactical Airlift group of the Georgia Air National Guard following its service with the USAF. It was flown to the museum in August 1975.

A thin layer of Super Sculpey over a thin layer of foil over the armature. I've tweaked the pose and shaping a little bit and baked to set this prior to adding details.
There's a bit more shape than appears in the pictures - the translucency tends to hide form a bit.

I cut a chunk of coroplast and stuck the flat sticky foot of one of my GoPro mounts down to it. It should give me plenty of good front view video. It straps to the top of the Sackville or right to the rack.
Recreations of 1940’s war air base scenes in the heart of Lincolnshire
The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is reconstructed on the site of the RAF East Kirkby Bomber Command station. It is the only Airfield Museum in the Country recreated to its original design sited on an original WW2 airfield.
It was the home of 57 squadron and 630 squadron of Bomber Command.
RAF East Kirkby served as the headquarters of No. 5/5 (Bomber) Group.
