Funny thing is that I was able to bring my camera and flash, but couldnt' fit a diy softbox or ringflash in my luggage (just didn't want to deal with the bulk...).

So when I got there, the bare flash was way to harsh (and bouncing doesn't get what I want), so I had to MacGyver it and actually put a puffed up ice bag from the ice bucket in my hotel room over the flash head and held it in place with a rubber band. I guess they could have come out worse... :)

The second part of our walk was from Mezna down into the Kamenice River and walking through the Edmunds Gorge. Half way along it is so steep that there is no track so you need to buy a ticket and take a boat for 960m. The boatman poles along the gorge and gives an interesting commentary in Czech (we only worked out tiny bits such as the Bart Simpson Rock!)
