Happy Monday flickr friends!
Absence is what you have mostly noticed here & so right you are ~ Even though we most probably see each other on FB, pinterest or through or blogs, regular posting here is something I miss, but then so difficult to handle recently time wise in a correct manner~> that of posting & visiting your streams to exchange opinions & comments.
Anyways, I'll be hopefully catching up tonight and till then I thought I also let you catch up with what's with me & Domestic Stories: for starters,

My self made camera bag! :D
Please forgive me for the quality of the picture, it's taken with my phone.
Materials:
-Foam
Some stores specialized in refitting furniture also sell just the foam. They have it in different thickness and can cut you the quantity you need. I bought a piece of 33inches (80cm) for 7£, but honestly, I didn't use half of it for a bag of that size. With 4/5£ worth of foam you should have enough.
If you don't know where to find such a place in your town, go to a fabric store and ask them, they should know (they'll be even more willing to help you if you buy them the fabric you need).
Replacing it with Bubble wrap just DOESN'T WORK (it's not protecting enough and it doesn't last), and it's not that much cheaper.
- Fabric
Something simple, cotton preferably. Avoid anything like fur, velvet and suede, they'll attract dust. Pick something light enough to allow you to find your gear easily.
- Cardboard
You want it thin but strong and light. I went to Spar and asked them if they didn't have some pieces of boxes they were about to bin.
Then you need thread, needles, ducktape, double faced tape, velcro, and if wanna go quicker, fabric glue.
Oh, and of course a bag lol. I picked mine for 9£ at the Eagle Market. It's probably not gonna last forever, but I can still take the insert out and put it in another bag.
First of all, take mesurement and draw how you wanna put your gear in.
With the cardboard and tape, I formed a box to fit inside the bag. It was quite tricky to put it in, I had to fold the bottom inside to be able to twist it, then once inside I taped the bottom back.

Then I cutted out pieces of foam to cover each side of the box and wrapped it in fabric.
I sewed the fabric around then reversed it and closed the last side with ducktape.

TIP: If you don't have a sewing machine, then don't bother with sewing the "walls" of the box, you won't be able to see the face stuck to the box anyway, so just do everything with ducktape, you'll save hours!
Stick them to the cardboard with the double faced tape.
Then I wrapped more foam with fabric to do the compartements dividers.

Adhesive velcro becomes very handy when you don't have a machine. Mine weren't so it too me ages to put them on. Multipurpose Power Pritt glue can work, but make sure you wait long enough before using them (1 to 2 hours).
Stuck the other bit of the velcro inside the main "box" and then put the dividers in place.
Then I only used more bits of foam, fabric and tape to fill the spaces.
One of the lenses is under another one which doesn't make it very handy, but I really don't use it often so in case I need it I'll have time to get it.
This bag will just work perfectly for me I think.
It's not waterproof I think but I'll make sure I buy a rain cover and carry it in the bag at all times.
There is some pockets in the front, very handy for accessories.
The whole thing is rather light as well, which is very good considering my back problems.
Hope my experience will help some. It can work in a lot of different shapes, bags. Just adapt it to your own gear (it can be changed and rearrange when you upgrade.... many expensive camera bags can't).
I only went and did it! My first foray out into the wide-world in daylight. I still can't believe it.

La Mare de Déu de Viladelleva és una capella romà nica aïllada al poble de Viladelleva a uns 6 km del nucli urbà de la vila de Callús, a la comarca catalana del Bages. És una obra inclosa en l'Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic de Catalunya.[1]
Descripció
Aquesta església, de dimensions força petites, presenta una planta amb nau rectangular i absis trapezoïdal; aquest fet ha portat a considerar-la en alguna ocasió i erròniament com a preromà nica.[2] L'absis, situat al l'est, és més baix que la nau i s'obre a aquesta a través d'un arc de mig punt. Al centre de la capçalera hi ha un gran finestral rectangular refet modernament i una petita espitllera. La nau és coberta amb volta de canó.[2]
La porta d'accés, a ponent, és de mig punt, adovellada. Al davant d'aquesta hi ha un porxo d'entrada, posterior a l'església. El campanar situat també a ponent és força massÃs i té estructura d'una petita torre.[2] L'aparell és obrat amb carreus disposats en filades i sense ornamentació.[2]
Història
Aquesta església es trobava dins l'antic terme del castell de Callús, al lloc de Viladelleva, que és documentat des del 1025 en una venda de terres al lloc dit Vila de Leva, prop del riu Malceres.[2]
Probablement fou propietat de la famÃlia Montcada, que la cedà a la canònica de Vic. Es creu que l'església és la que amb la mateixa advocació de Santa Maria apareix el 1033 en una donació entre germans de la famÃlia Montcada. També es considera que correspon a aquesta capella la referència de 1060 d'una església de Santa Maria situada a Vila Mancada prop del riu Malchers.[2]
Les notÃcies sobre el culte són tardanes. Les visites pastorals del bisbe Pascual, entre el 1685 i el 1693, són les que aporten més detalls.[2] La capella fou profanada el 1936. el 1962 la comprà Jordi Planas, prop. Del mas Ferrer, que impulsà la seva restauració i manté el culte.[2]

I was handed this shopping bag with my purchases at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Williamsburg, Virginia. They recently expanded into a former Rite Aid store so I assume there was some Eckerd branded store supplies on hand after Rite Aid closed.
so i know i am late to be jumping on this bandwagon but i just discovered this pattern and i am soooo gonna make it!
Yesterday at the car wash I was sitting under an awning with the sun shining through....this is what I saw when I looked up.
I'm going swimming; above: tote bag by Junk Food, gloves, hairbrush, towel, swimming costume, flip-flops, phone, purse, plastic bag, keys, hairband, hand-cream, deodorant spray, conditioner, bodywash and shampoo.
It's good to be prepared! :D
