new bag. it fits an slr! not with lens attached though. plans are to upgrade to a more full repair kit and a smaller portable camera.
rando proto #2. Instead of the separate flaps over the inside of the bag that most TA-derived handlebar bags use, I thought I'd try integral flaps, inspired by messenger bags (this is basically the same way my backpack design closes). I like how it turned out, and will probably keep the design this way.
This prototype has an integral plastic base sewn into the bag, inbetween the liner and the outer layer (though naturally, after making it I figured out how to do it better - fully floating between the layers, so there'd be no visible stitching on the outside). I think it's a much more visually elegant solution than that used by Berthoud et. al., but I worry about replacement -- elegance doesn't count for much if it breaks and you can't replace it. So there will probably be a pocket on the base, as there is on my porteur bag.

Thanks to the help of a very special someone, I was able to purchase the Timbuk2 bag that I've been eyeing for a while now.
As a first-year student at San Francisco State University, I didn't know what to expect as far as class-to-class travel time and hauling books meant since I was fortunate enough to attend a high school that was casual enough to survive with no bags--just a notebook and a locker.
I quickly found that reality had changed after college started. I am no longer able to get by with just a notebook--I actually have to USE the assigned textbooks which is still pretty new to me. I also discovered that taking notes via pencil is now a venerable practice overshadowed by the dawn of portable computers. So what did I do?
In desperate need of assistance, I decided to invest in a bag that would last me my college career (and even beyond) without me having to worry about its lifespan. During the process of a lengthy research, two names were thrown at me the most: Chrome and Timbuk2. I had already known of these two brands but decided to go with Timbuk2 because of the customizability options they have over Chrome.
I couldn't be happier with my decision. The blue and black colorway that I chose is pretty much only mine, and the best part is that I can fit all my shit in there!

This waist bag is made out of buttersoft deerskin. It has a drawstring closure to keep items safe. The toggle clips attach to your beltloops for handsfree. Perfect for riding your motorcycle.
I had some materials lying around so I decided to make a carrier bag for the Luts senior delf -bjd I'm expecting. The outer fabric is some sturdy cotton from Ikea, padded with 3cm of cotton wool and a inner layer of supersoft fleece. The zipper and strap I recycled from an old sports bag. The whole thing has been sewn together with an overlocker, which I (being somewhat lazy) love and adore <3
My pocket in my pocket, to hold things in reserve that don't need to be pulled out right away from the rest of the pocket, and its holdings. I like to think I have Coyote in my pocket, but he might not like to think so, though he looks happy for now.

A bag I made for my daughter's friend for her birthday. I made it from recycled materials: an old pair of jeans, a vintage pillowcase, and a button and zipper from my daughter's outgrown clothes. I also added some daisy braid from a stash of fabric and oddments that was given to me by my grandmother.

I like this pattern. It was so easy to follow and comes together quickly. I think I would just lengthen the strap a little but that's just for me and my footballer like shoulders. I love all the pockets in this bag
