i have a significantly smaller bag this time around, so a lot of my usual contents had to go. strictly the essentials now.
I made this bag from two potato chip bags. I used self adhesive velcro to hold the bag closed.
Made this sometime in 2009.
new bag. it fits an slr! not with lens attached though. plans are to upgrade to a more full repair kit and a smaller portable camera.
A bag I made for my daughter's friend for her birthday. I made it from recycled materials: an old pair of jeans, a vintage pillowcase, and a button and zipper from my daughter's outgrown clothes. I also added some daisy braid from a stash of fabric and oddments that was given to me by my grandmother.
I got the idea from here creativemomentsbycary.blogspot.com/search/label/bags and the pattern here www.skiptomylou.org/2010/04/27/pleated-pouch-tutorial/
My pocket in my pocket, to hold things in reserve that don't need to be pulled out right away from the rest of the pocket, and its holdings. I like to think I have Coyote in my pocket, but he might not like to think so, though he looks happy for now.

An easy to follow pattern. I added an exterior zippered pocket and lined it with insul bright. I used cotton webbing for the handles. I love the way it turned out!

This is my trusty library book bag, which I have used for several years now to ferry books back and forth between my house and the various public libraries. As you can see, I tend to get too many books for this poor little guy to handle, but he bears the strain well.
Note: Don't hang it on hooks in a wooden door. Ever.

Only modification done was not to have I-cord tied inside as in pattern as it was creating a bulge. So I cut the I-cord and joined it in a short loop so that I get just the small loop outside and no bulge.
My girlfriend gave me a new Chrome messenger bag for my birthday, we picked it up while in San Francisco at the Chrome factory store.

A quick sew for my sister using this tutorial: sew4home.com/projects/storage-solutions/yoga-mat-sling-bag
This is a bag (my new beach bag!!! Yeah!!!) from the book "Sew Serendipity Bags" by Kay Whitt. The pattern is called the mulit-tasker bag. I customized it by adding the handles. My bag also has the shoulder bag strap (on the left side almost shows on this picture) that can be adjusted. I put a zippered pocket on the other side, as well as a zippered pocket inside. This bag has 8 open pockets on the inside also.
I made this super sweet quilted bag as a birthday present for my mother. She descirbed what she wanted and then I made a prototype with her so that we could talk about features. She picked out some fabrics from my stash (part of my most recent thrifting find) and then I made her bag. I think I will write a tutorial for this, it seems like a perfect shape and size and by changing the fabric choices, you could have so many possibilities for look and style.
