This is my trusty library book bag, which I have used for several years now to ferry books back and forth between my house and the various public libraries. As you can see, I tend to get too many books for this poor little guy to handle, but he bears the strain well.
Note: Don't hang it on hooks in a wooden door. Ever.
I made this super sweet quilted bag as a birthday present for my mother. She descirbed what she wanted and then I made a prototype with her so that we could talk about features. She picked out some fabrics from my stash (part of my most recent thrifting find) and then I made her bag. I think I will write a tutorial for this, it seems like a perfect shape and size and by changing the fabric choices, you could have so many possibilities for look and style.

Only modification done was not to have I-cord tied inside as in pattern as it was creating a bulge. So I cut the I-cord and joined it in a short loop so that I get just the small loop outside and no bulge.
A drawstring pouch combining crocheting, knitting and cotton print fabric.
This bag has cabbages and it is dedicated for all those eager gardeners who get ready for showing their best specimens at garden exhibitions!
Height from the center point of the bottom to the top edge: appr. 13 inch (34 cm) Circumference: appr. 13 inch (34 cm)
The bottom of the bag is crocheted from estonian and japanese wool.
The middle part is knitted from estonian and finnish wool.
The top is sewn from cotton fabrics.
The string is knitted i-cord, felted for durability.
To keep it looking simple I added an inseam pocket on each side of the bag. Just big enough for my phone. Linen and original Belle by Amy Butler (my fav color way. So disappointed it wasn't reprinted). Lined with natural canvas.

I made this up as a sample for our new local quilt shop. It was made with the Amy Butler In-town Bags pattern. Fabric is from the new Woodstock line by Benartex.

This bag was made using Rae's Buttercup Bag Pattern. Like a lot of my fabrics, I rescued this tan canvas from the AS-IS bin at the local IKEA. I believe it was a pillow cover before I got my hands on it. I made the pipping myself, and decided to add a little variation to the pattern by using two straps instead of one. The flower is a little pin I made with the leftover fabric.
I made this bag for my cousin Lisa, it's about 20"x20". The straps are about 2 1/2" wide. As with the other two tote bags I've made, I didn't use a pattern.
For this one I wanted to use something larger than 5"x5" template squares. I took the glass out of a picture frame to use as the template for the big cat pieces on the front and back. Then just cut long pieces for the rest. I also remembered this time to sew in the tab closure (see other picture) before finishing the bag, that way you don't see the raw fabric ends of the tab.
