I made this bag for my cousin Lisa, it's about 20"x20". The straps are about 2 1/2" wide. As with the other two tote bags I've made, I didn't use a pattern.
For this one I wanted to use something larger than 5"x5" template squares. I took the glass out of a picture frame to use as the template for the big cat pieces on the front and back. Then just cut long pieces for the rest. I also remembered this time to sew in the tab closure (see other picture) before finishing the bag, that way you don't see the raw fabric ends of the tab.
I used to do a fair amount of sketching in college, and one of the exercises for getting shadows that people did a lot was to work with a crumpled paper bag. So last night, once again, I was scrambling for a 365 subject at the last minute and decided to grab a paper bag from the closet, crumple it up, and see what came out. This is SOOC, and I kind of like it.

I'm pretty proud of this for I designed the pattern of this bag as well as the print.

This is the front of the bag closed. My aunt asked for pockets on the gusset (both sides) and I was afraid to try piping PLUS the pockets, so I left the gusset piping out. It still works! In fact, I kind of like it this way. For my own bag, I will probably do it the normal way.
Don't let it deceive you. This thing goes from driving height to slammed in a heartbeat.

A drawstring pouch combining crocheting, knitting and cotton print fabric.
This bag was inspired by the royal wedding of princess Viktoria in Sweden. When I saw queen SIlvias dress, I just had to make a very flowery bag with soft colors. The bag has hydrangeas and raspberries and it reminds me of all the romantic moments seen in the wedding.
Height from the bottom edge to the top edge: appr. 12 inch.
The diameter of the bottom: appr. 5 inch.
Circumference: appr. 15 inch.
The bottom of the bag is crocheted from estonian and finnish wool.
The middle part is knitted from estonian and finnish wool.
The top is sewn from cotton fabrics.
The string is made from wool and has been felted for durability.
