Trying to get through months of photos just sitting on my computer... Colette likes to have her picture taken, has had her picture taken countless times since she was born. So, when we go out in the backyard for some simple fun and I pull out my camera to snap some photos of the garden, of course she asks me to take her photo as well. This turns into countless tricks involving bubbles and twirls and dancing and laughs and really much more fun than snapping photos of flowers.
One of the photos of a series that was taken for 'Sylvia's Cookbook'; a cookbook I photographed and designed for my good friend Sylvia for her 30th birthday.
The theme was cooking at home, cooking from the heart. It contained favourite recipes belonging to my boyfriend and I.
in my backyard soaking up the last of the day's sun: reading my book, talking on the phone with my friend in San Francisco, eating tons of grapes.
It's taken three months of finding the right contractor and one month of work, but the new backyard and patio are officially done. Only one photo-sensitive flood light remains to be put up.
This is the backyard at the cabin we were staying in. The little firepit is right on the edge of a steep drop before you reach the river.
