January 2013 project. Improving a jungle of a backyard - turning it into a modern tropical oasis in Bondi. Looking forward to the hot tub!
wider shot of the backyard. eunice in her fenced in area planting in the squarefoot gardens. You can see the smaller raised bed covered by windows on the right. I set that one up. Hoping for some good lettuce and onions among other items, out of there.

I took a walk this evening around the apartment complex where my wife and I live. The view in our backyard this evening.
Another try at a panorama. It was a very hard contrast this time which the camera could not handle, so I tried a two row mosaic.

I tried to think outside of the box in terms of composition. I feel as if maybe the photo could be a little better if there were no players on the court. I processed this photo in Lightroom, and I used Silver Efex Pro 2 for the black and white conversion.
My wife and I decided to improve our landscaping this summer. She suggested we could put a little pond in the backyard (among other things). She was thinking one of those little "tub" ponds, about 1 x 1.5 meters. We started looking at photos of ponds in landscaping books and saw some waterfalls. She suggested we could add a little waterfall too. Then I suggested we could make it bigger; and it could come down the hill in the backyard. Then I said the pond would have to be bigger. Well, it just kept on growing and this has turned into a major project. We are hoping it might be finished before the winter snows set in!
This view shows just the upper falls. See the 5th photo for a view of the whole project.

One day this rabbit showed up in the backyard. Looks like it moved in as we see it every day now for the last few weeks.
It is pretty cute and keeps the grass mowed. Its a win/win so far.
