Fitzpatrick caught a bug! Hopefully this cures him.

Pics of a neighborhood juvie Cooper's Hawk that terrorizes the neighbor (and the backyard) birds. Almost everyday, even though I don't see him (or her), I hear the local alarms going off (Blue Jays).

Since I've put up feeders over the past few years, the Parrots/Parakeets have found them. Don't really care for them, they're noisy, bossy and eat a lot of feed.

At 10pm it is still swelterning and the doors have to be left open to get a breeze flowing through the house. The garden is just about coping wiht the 45 C heat.

sipping my late morning tea, i spied the sun shining through these few orange flowers in the backyard.

This is a picture I took of my backyard at the beginning of this semester. I really liked the way the sky looked that day so I decided to photograph it. This photo shows all different types of biotic components because of the variety of plant life. An abiotic component in this picture that contrasts those of an aquatic environment is soil type. The ground in my back yard is rocky and hard packed making it difficult for certain plants to grow.

Cranked up the contrast on this one for dramatic effect.

Taken at f3.5 for shallow debt of field.

A lot of tree cover in the back yard.

I admire this rosebush - it's has been around a good 15 years, surviving several droughts on its own, blooming its heart out. Now 'the great wall' next door makes a pretty backdrop when the sun strikes the flowers in late afternoon.
