Pics of a neighborhood juvie Cooper's Hawk that terrorizes the neighbor (and the backyard) birds. Almost everyday, even though I don't see him (or her), I hear the local alarms going off (Blue Jays).
The deck is pretty much on hold while the downstairs is completed. It will be 23 feet wide and extend 12 feet from the rear of the house.

Be sure to look at the LARGE size. We've been seeing this tiny head pop up out in the clover during the last week or so. I finally set up the tripod and put on the telephoto lens, to see if I could get some photos of him. He's quick - and not much taller than the clover right now. So cute!

This stream sits a bit off my backyard (which is literally wetlands). This ribbon of green signals the beginning of spring for me as much as anything else.

This tree has been growing in my backyard and I still don't know what it is. If anybody recognizes please let me know.
I love the vivid colours in the sky this time of year. And the fact that I can capture the falling sun from my patio door.
We have this bush in the backyard with killer thorns, but it has the most beautiful, pink flowers in the summer and now these perfect berries. Anyone care to enlighten a horticulturally illiterate person?
Yup, eventually the Fox squirrels figured out how to get on the feeder. I bought a baffle later on. Sciurus niger, Sciuridae. Central IL, Fall 2012.
