My little backyard oasis...just experimenting with the tilt shift...I've got to practice a little more!
We had unseasonably warm weather on Oct 14th (22C), and the ladybugs were practically swarming in the backyard!
Tamron SP Di 90mm F/2.8 (272E) plus Raynox MSN-202 (and off-camera Yongnuo YN-560 III, as usual). First shots with the 202 - very powerful!

I was pretty worried about her last night because we had Santa Ana winds with gusts to 47 MPH. Dumbell that she is, she built her nest in an 8' POTTED PLANT (of all things) and that thing blew over 3 times this year before she built the nest. This morning when I got up all was cool and she was snoring away like there was never any danger. :o)
The beginning of my gravel path that winds thru perennials, native plants and cactus. This are had been lacking and I just finished fixing it up with a few more rocks and some gravel and pebbles.
Trying to get through months of photos just sitting on my computer... Colette likes to have her picture taken, has had her picture taken countless times since she was born. So, when we go out in the backyard for some simple fun and I pull out my camera to snap some photos of the garden, of course she asks me to take her photo as well. This turns into countless tricks involving bubbles and twirls and dancing and laughs and really much more fun than snapping photos of flowers.
My son-in-law gave me this fabulous feeder for Mother's Day. The Hummers have found it and that makes me happy!
This pile was probably 5' tall, 10' long and 4' wide - a solid 7 cubic yards of vine (before it all started dying and collapsed overnight before I took the photo). We rolled and pulled it from the backyard in an afternoon. Of course I have poison ivy all over myself now, but it's gone and the kids won't get it anymore.
1 in the box, 3 in the cup. Simple, right? This classic backyard game has been challenging people for decades now, and no matter how much you've played you always wonder, "how on Earth did it just bounce out of there?!" The Backyard Ninja Competition Kit's Washer setup is special in that the cups open up to the soil below, ensuring the quality shots stay in the cup where they belong!
