After receiving a small Webber grill for father's day, we put it to good use. We loaded up on fresh fruit, kebobs and plenty of texas backyard wind & sunshine!

Enjoying our backyard.

Lots of color with this combination but LD20 seems to die quickly. When done will return to SE5

This little chipmunk is a frequent visitor.

My backyard after it snowed, taken with my iPhone 5s.

Being frustrared for the rain keeping me away from the refuge, I took my camera and beanbag out to my covered patio and sat there waiting to see something move. To my absolute surprise I saw this Coopers Hawk land on this wire in my neighbors yard after an unsuccessful chase. This is the first decent shot I have ever had of this bird and I have never seen any hawk from my backyard before. Taken at Portland, OR.

I did this plein air painting on my back porch. I wanted to test some new equipment before taking it out on location. I bought a tripod adapter to hold my iPad, a Nomad brush, and an Epson PictureMate Charm portable printer for printing reference photos. You can read about my setup and findings on my blog over at:

iPad, ArtRage and Snapseed apps, Nomad brush. Total time about 30 minutes.

Chicken Coop Raider.

This little guy is almost always somewhere nearby, but usually in this one spot by the fence.

Does this shot say SUMMER or what?

Burlington, Vermont USA • Work of anamorphic art, designed and aggregated by Beau Wolfe, The ArchitecT. in our shared back courtyard. Neighbor Dave built a mini-oil derrick-shaped planter from recycled bamboo and pallets, scaled to cover a big drain grate (cause of many twisted ankles and falls). Beau had already built and hung on the porch a marvelous sculpture of six tetrahedron and encircling copper wire.

He decided to harness the airspace above the courtyard, and hang his sculpture, centered above Dave's planter. Beau had already harvested a broken mirror, and began to put it all together. See it Now.

This truly unique backyard is a must see. It's at least 3 times the size of any regular sized backyard in the area. It's fully fenced, contains a beautiful patio area and is landscaped.

New pondless waterfall added the other day. We are using RE Scott Landcaping www.rescottlandscape.com/index.htm for the work.

I was trying for something interesting with the tile table the camera was sitting on but that didn't turn out so well. Notes are included for backyard landmarks. LMAO!

Dove flew into our window. Ryan picked him up and held him until he flew away.

The ball drop and 2010 sign lit up with the new backyard movie screen and the New Year's countdown and live NYC ball drop video stream.

Young Cooper’s hawk (probably) disgruntled over coming up short as it swooped into the yard - missing all the doves and finches having dinner.

Backyard inflatable slide is perfect for family use, small kids can invite their friends play it together in the backyard. It will cool down the whole summer days. With different theme, girls and boys have different options to have fun sliding over and over on this inflatable slide.

This is the backyard entrance.. before it was just hard packed dirt (or mud and muck during the rain) and moss.. a few spurts of grass and a few weeds.. I dug it up, bought some cheap stones and spaced them out enough that dirt packs between the cracks. Before too long, moss will grow nicely here too. I could push the moss to grow, but really just don't feel like it.

Backyard Monsters.

A good place to greet people as they walk thru the alley, which leads to the river, or to just relax and watch the river roll by.

This picture, taken last fall in my backyard, shows a tree and it's yellowing leaves. The tree represents wood, a common provisioning resource used by many.

Just a random shot I took in my backyard
