I never thought we'd see owls in our tiny backyard but these guys came to visit around one o'clock yesterday afternoon. What they were doing out in the daytime, I don't know. We think they are screech owls and should be nocturnal. They came back again around dusk.
My backyard is pretty ugly during the day, but at night, it's a different story. I find myself just sitting out here once in awhile.
I have no idea what all these plants (trees) are. They make some fascinating designs in my favorite color though.
This is another available light shot from the shade of a nearby thunderstorm.
haven’t figured out how to set the time on it so if these say july 2024 they are actually march 6 2025. theoretically ipad adjusted the time. we’ll see
Our backyard was very hilly and it was impossible to do pretty much anything back there. So a friend of Lee's came over to level the yard.
I live in Warren near 12 Mile and Hoover. I just wanted to show you what was peeking through my fence.

In two weeks I'll be in Black Rock City for Burning Man 2006. It will be my second year at Burning Man and my friend Rob's fourth year.
Last year the only relief we had in our camp from the brutal desert sun was the shade cast by our rented minivan, which usually didn't amount to much.
This year we're taking along a lightweight, prefab shade structure. It's 12x12 feet, and hopefully it will provide enough shade for us to catch a break from the midday sun once in awhile.
The Kelty Shadehouse 12 is like a tent with no walls, and I pitched it in the back yard to get a feel for the setup. It went up fairly easily, although I got stuck for awhile because I failed to follow the included directions.
This is our new greenhouse! It's so big.. but I think I'll find plenty to go in.. probably more than I want (like kids riding toys!).

I was outside this evening enjoying the nice weather, and captured this in my backyard. Can I still say " Happy Bokeh Wednesday"....or is that so 2008? You can tell how long it's been since I've been truly active on flickr!
I added a slight cross processing effect to this, although I am not digging it. Then again, I am just not good at capturing flowers, so that is probably why. Oh well, I am starting to put my D90 to use again, so I guess that is a good thing.
New Jersey is seriously lacking in color this time of year, so I had to grab the camera for this amazing sunset.
A short session with my photo friends at Röda Sten, Gothenburg, a cold, rainy evening in March.
