Broken bridge is derelict pedestrian bridge located at the mouth of the Adyar River in Chennai (Madras), India.
The bridge was built to facilitate the movement of fishermen from Santhome beach to Elliot's beach over the mouth of the Adyar river. The bridge spans across the Adyar estuary bordering the backend of the Theosophical Society. The bridge partly collapsed after due to strong currents of the river during a particular monsoon, and has never been repaired.
The Broken Bridge has become a popular spot to view the sunset and has been attracting drinkers. The area is generally considered unsafe after dark due to its proximity to fishing hamlets and lack of road access.
The bridge has been featured in many Tamil movies like Vaali and Aayutha Ezhuthu.

Somewhat an usual working on the last 449 Ellesmere to Oswestry trip of the date on a late summer Saturday in late June is this Optare Solo SR. This is considering a double decker off the backend of a contract on a school day or a full size saloon at other times been the usual allocation. 209 finds itself covering three round trips after been a odd allocation itself on the 401 Oswestry Town Service that morning in lieu of the usual decker, captured moving at speed in a reasonable to at times tight gap.
209 was one of three Optare Solo SRs purchased new by Tanat Valley for Powys tendered work as I understand it.
The 449 Oswestry to Ellesmere has operated with Tanat Valley since the early cuts of post deregulation of NBC managed Crosville and into privatisation of a early Crosville Wales on a previous D87 service Oswestry to Welshampton via Ellesmere. Arriva operate some weekday AM and PM peak turns as a 449 to Welshampton with subsidy from Shropshire Council with Tanat Valley operating a commerical service from 09:00 until 17:10 ex Oswestry to Ellesmere and return.
It is understood that Tanat Valley have lost the schoolday 54 Shropshire tender to the Marches School to and from Bryn from September to Arriva Midlands (the service has been cancelled by Tanat Valley on the VOSA registration process on checking) that the weekday bus operates 09:00 until 14:00 and return. Early indiacations suggest that the core service will be lost, apart from a AM and PM school short working from Babbinswood that uses the same vehicle on the 401 Oswestry Town Service between will only remain. Never a dull moment in and around Oswestry but a sad loss if the 449 does not survive in its current form.

Pride of Longbridge 2016 - Alternative Event.
For those that don't know, 2016's official PoL never took place. To be hosted in Coften Park, not too far from Longbridge itself the event was cancelled hours before the start time of 10am. Reason being due to weather, heavy rain and a waterlogged field to start with and snow in the early hours eventually saw the event off. Two unofficial events were hastily arranged by would-be attendees in order to salvage the show - one gathering hosted at Gaydon and another at the gates of MG's Londbridge facilities, I went to the latter. Permission was sought to fully utilise Lowhill Lane for the show, though not officially closed, general traffic still crawled through.
A huge appreciation must be given for the marshals at this last minute event too, having so readily relocated and coping so well with the additional stresses of safely managing live traffic movements on top of directing show vehicles.
An incredible number of vehicles took to 'the gates', no way I could have photographed them all. My uploads will run in ascending order by age.

Inversed binoculars for the headlights (just to try out), car has a roof now.
Due to some play within the structure you may lower the backend of the roof for one plate, as you can see. This causes some stress at the rear section but hopefully this can be solved since it improves the silhouette a lot ...

The Roads Campaign Council, an umbrella group that comprised a wide range of parties interested in road transport, was backed by the British Road Federation and seems to have been active in the post-war years as road transport began to grow and investment in roads was seen as being tardy. The 1950s saw the serious development of schemes for major routes such as motorways and ambitious plans for new roads as part of urban redevelopments and these would, of course, be brought to fruition in the 1960s onwards.
The Campaign seem to have issued a series of publciity or propaganda booklets and this is called "Roads Matter - Scotland" and this makes you wonder if other regional booklets in the dame format were issued? I have similar booklets issued by them for specific groups of English towns. The twenty page booklet has text and a series of images showing congestion in urban areas, such as Glasgow, Stirling and Dunfermline as well as 'dangerous roads' such as the A74 Anglo-Scottish trunk road and the A77, the route from Glasgow into Ayrshire.
The photos are of good quality and show street and roadscapes now lost along with many contemporary vehicles and period features that prove to make for fascinating research! I've scanned and posted a selection. The book credits a designer - John Denison-Hunt FSIA - and although not dated appears to be 1957.
This splendid image shows the intersection of what is described as the A907 and A994 in the centre of the ancient Fife city. That's thrown me a bit as I've always known New Row as historically being the A823 but it is a long time since I've been to Dunfermline!
The traditional backend of a bus can be seen, an Alexander's Fife vehicle with the common painted advert for Askit headache powders just visible. Amongst the streets, vehicles, cyclist and pedestrians can be seen many shops and facades.

Of Course a nice focused face would of been great. We would of missed this nice shapely bum and orange legs. lol.
I'm redesigning my website and I had all these lofty goals about launching in the New Year. HA! ProPhoto, the software I use, re-engineered their interface two iterations ago and basically I'm at a point now where I have to update to stay current on the backend. I am NOT a web designer so the learning curve, even with tutorials, is steep. I'm making progress but it's slow going.
Speaking of slow going, my WW journey has crawled to a halt, through no fault of my own. I've been dealing with some medical issues since October and though I am fairly transparent, I've become a much more private person as I've gotten older. Curtis has also been dealing with some professional changes. The kids are great and I am incredibly grateful for that. But the net result is that I've pulled back from everyone and have isolated myself.
I miss sharing my thoughts though... I write as a way of processing through difficult parenting challenges and facing the demons in my head. Sometimes in the past, I felt shut down or shushed by others, and I allowed what other people thought chase me away from blogging and sharing my authenticity. I'm going to try to get back to what makes me... well ME. I like to create art that resonates with me, that expresses how I'm feeling or what I'm facing. Right now, I've been in a cycle of self-doubt. I need to break it. I'm still involved in our local photography club, the New Braunfels Photographic Society (in fact, I'm on the Board of Directors!). January's theme was Shadows. I created this image with all of these challenges in mind. Fear, anxiety, self-doubt, being paralyzed by inaction, feeling like time is wasting away. I see myself in the mirror wondering who the hell I'm looking at.

Got my first Damselfy shot of the year on Saturday, shame the backend is OOF. Being able to shoot at up to ISO 6400 without worrying about noise is a big asset when handholding macros for me.

Mammatus clouds formed on the backend of the storm system as it moved out of Chicago. Though if it wasn't for the lightning illuminating it, I would have never known.
