"Hamilton" was created in 2008 for an ABC television series titled "The Prince of Motor City." It was a drama with big name talent that never made it past its pilot. Prince was described in the Hollywood Reporter as a gothic family soap inspired by Hamlet that centers on a young Harvard philosophy professor forced to return to Detroit to take over Hamilton Motors, the family's auto company, after his father's death.
The Hamilton seen here is the only one in existence and was designed by a team from the Cinema Vehicle Services Collection. Two other "Hamilton's" were being built at the time the plug was pulled on the series and were scraped.

A total of 37 Ford Cunningham Town Cars were built between 1935 and 1937, and only 17 of these cars are known to exist. Cunningham began as a maker of carriages, but by the time of the Great Depression, the company decided to produce a lower cost town car. Beginning with a 1936 Ford, Cunningham removed the body from behind the cowl and replaced it with their own body, which included an open drivers area, and a large passenger area with seating for four. According to the owner, the engine and chassis were unchanged and remained entirely Ford, However, Cunningham removed the Ford name from all visible parts to distinguish it as a Cunningham Automobile.

With multiple feeders, filled with a variety of seed, suet, and even mealworms, you can count on the bird activity being busy at times. And perhaps even confusing on where to go next?
Saw this Pine Warbler, a recent arrival to our yard, checking out the different feeders. He seemed a bit perturbed hanging on that chain, most likely wanting to grab some suet from the nearby suet feeder which was currently occupied by a Brown Headed Nuthatch.
The backend of what looks like a Finch was one of several birds at the Hotmeats feeder, where pepper treated sunflower meats are provided - another favorite of the Pine Warbler. Alas, sometimes you just have to wait your turn.

When I took this photo, I was looking at the shape of its tiny legs and thought I had captured the head end - of course not! The tiny 'horn' is on its rear end. Oh well, at least you still get an idea of how beautifully patterned and coloured this large caterpillar was.
"Pseudosphinx tetrio is a species of moth in the family Sphingidae. Its common names include tetrio sphinx, giant gray sphinx, frangipani hornworm, and plumeria caterpillar. It is native to the tropical and subtropical Americas from the southern and southwestern United States to Brazil. The occasional individual has been recorded as far north as the northeastern United States.
The larva is a caterpillar which may exceed 15 centimeters in length. It is black with aposematic yellow bands and a red-orange head. Toward the posterior end is an orange bump with a black horn roughly 2 centimeters long. The legs are orange with black spots. The pupa is about 7 centimeters long. It is yellow when new, turning brown and darkening to a reddish brown as it hardens.
The moth specializes on plants of the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. Host taxa include Plumeria species such as red frangipani (P. rubra) and white frangipani (P. alba), and golden trumpet (Allamanda cathartica). P. alba in particular is so often infested with this caterpillar that it has been nicknamed "the wormy tree".
The caterpillar has several antipredator adaptations. Its consumption of toxic plants makes it distasteful to most predators. An exception is the Smooth-billed Ani (Crotophaga ani), which tears the caterpillar apart to eat it, avoiding the gut containing the plant material. The caterpillar is also coated in barbed urticating hairs, which stick deeply in skin and cause irritation. If caught, the caterpillar bites." From Wikipedia.

My son Derek and I recently visited the Yosemite National Park, which is about a three hour drive from the Bay Area where we live. This was our ride... a white 1995 Corvette convertible. It was a great road trip running with the top down through the farming valley and into the mountains. This shot was taken at one of the first places we pulled off the road after entering the park... considering the bright sunlight gleaming off the polished white surface of the car, the exposure turned out pretty good. You'll also notice that the area here showed signs of a pervious forest fire...you can see a stand of burned trees over the backend of the car.
My only regret was that I hit a set of railroad tracks on our drive back home in the dark. I had slowed down for them, but apparently not enough. Since the Corvette really conveys the feel of the road, it shook the car and knocked the alignment out of whack slightly. I just had it aligned prior to the trip! :(
By the way, our other Corvette is a 1988 35th anniversary. They only made 2050 of that special edition that year to celebrate Corvette's 35th anniversary. It is only one of two years (to my knowledge) that they serially numbered the cars... and if memory serves me, it is #1918... I'll check when I get back home. I'm going to have to sell it, though. When I went to Rotherham a few weeks back, I came back with a bunch of model stuff I haven't had time to properly photograph and pay attention to. My weirdest purchase was undoubtedly this, erm, thing, which I paid all of £2 for and still has the price written on the roof.
I was drawn in by the big headlights and flat windscreen reminding me of Scania demonstrators NCT had in the 1980s, plus the rear area has been modified with a hinge and opening lower rear section to reveal an engine modelled from scraps. After a closer inspection I realised I had an ECW Olympian kit (possibly a Tower Models one?) with the modified backend and flat windscreen - the front panel is in fact the original one, just unusually painted and with the whacking great rectangular headlights stuck on. The front panel is also very wobbly and held on with blu-tac.
Win no registration but a number 88 front and rear, it seems this was part of someone's model fleet, although exactly whose or where I'm not sure. Best I found of Flickr is that it could be Albion Coachways, but the quality finish seems a bit inconsistent. The upper red band is actually a piece of tape running all the way around the model! Still not sure what kind of body or chassis it's meant to represent, but I assume its something from the 1980s.
So, what to do with it? It's too old for the model fleet, even by rock bottom Robertson Buses standards, and as ungainly as the rear hinge is, I'd like to keep it as it's a neat feature. None of the old ex-demo NCT Scanias match its looks around the sides or rear, which is a shame, but so far my best idea is to put it in green and cream, East Lancs-ify it a little and have it as a freelance NCT Scania demo, even if none looked like it IRL. Whaddya think? Suggest better ideas (or thoughts about who its previous owner was) below!
Also, this photo sees the return of the Victoria Centre diorama, originally made 'temporarily' in 2019... or at least the salvageable bits. It's in a bad way and really needs a complete rebuild. Which might happen some time before 2050.

You are invited to stay and browse through my stream. Here's a quick introduction to my little corner of Flickr:
Automobile Photographs: This is a very large collection of images whose primary, but not exclusive, focus is on American automotive classics. Images are organized by decade, by manufacturer, and by topics (such as convertibles, station wagons, muscle cars, etc.)
Central Illinois (excluding Springfield): Photos relating to the middle section of the "Land of Lincoln" (except for the Capital City of Springfield) may be found in this collection. Every city and town I've photographed is contained within its own set, and rural (as in "countryside") photographs are grouped by county.
Springfield, Illinois: All of my photographs of Springfield and the Abraham Lincoln Sites are in this collection. For the City of Springfield, there are separate sets for the Capitol Complex, Downtown (including the Old State Capitol), Neighborhoods, Parks, Illinois State Fairgrounds and more. Photographs of Lincoln sites include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Tomb, and so on. Also in the Lincoln "All About Abe" (Set) are a few Lincoln sites not located in Springfield.
The Illinois State Fair: My collection of photographs of the Illinois State Fair. The fair offers something for everyone. Grab a corn dog and lemon shake-up, and come take a look!
Beyond Central Illinois: Other locales in the United States and Canada including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle.
In addition to my location-based sets, here are links to some "topical" collections and sets I've put together:
Barbers & Barber Shops: Traditional barbers and barber shops are on the endangered species list. But there are still plenty to be found if you go looking for them.
Almost Everything Else. Check It Out!!!: Included topics range from man's first walk on the moon to small town schools and churches, and from Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers (our favorite breed) to things that are abandoned, neglected, weathered, or rusty.
Thanks for stopping by! - myoldpostcards (Randy von Liski)

I don't know if everyone is getting so many small things going wrong with Flickr at the moment. It seems as if everything I try to do goes wrong or takes too long to work. Stats are a mess.
Last night and this morning, 2 November 2017, we had our first major fall of snow in the city (at least in my part of the city). Still snowing this afternoon, and I'm just so thankful I don't have to go anywhere today. Temperature is -10C (windchill -18C) at around 1:30 pm. Stay warm, everyone, and drive safely!
Again, all three photos posted this morning were taken three days ago, on 30 October 2017. They show what a varied day I had. I spent the day driving mostly roads that I had been along before (a round trip of 230 km). I still find a few roads so confusing! My destination was partly to check on two old barns that I had only seen and photographed once before. Having been there with my daughter in January 2015, I knew that there were several other old barns and homesteads en route. This day was definitely a barn day, not a bird or wildlife day.
The large barn in a photo I posted the day before yesterday was one that I had been looking forward to finding and seeing for the first time, which I finally did in January 2015, with my daughter. I would love to have been able to get photos from both sides of it, but it was in a farmer's field that was, of course, private property.
The second old barn that I saw in this area is in far worse condition, but I love it. It was funny, because I was standing in the road and had already taken a handful of photos of this crumbling, weathered structure, when I noticed someone walking towards me in the distance. Talk about deja vu! I started walking towards her and it turned out that she lived at the farm just down the road, but had previously lived in the house next to this decaying barn and it was her property. She told me to wander wherever I wished, take as many photos as I wanted. I laughed and said that in January 2015, when my daughter and I had been standing right there in the road, a lady came by on her horse and told us the very same story - it must have been the same person! Felt so good!
Another place I stopped at was a farmyard full of old barns, sheds and vehicles. I pulled over and stood outside my car to take a quick shot of an old, blue truck from across the road. A person happened to just appear, walking across his farmyard, so I called out to him and we had a delightful chat. I think he was very amused at my passion for old things and told me to walk around and take whatever photos I wanted. Which I did, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The blue truck in a photo posted two days ago was just one of several old vehicles, mainly cars. I told him what an amazing place he had, full of interesting things. I got the impression that he saw things very differently - lots of old things that needed fixing or tidying up : ) I told him to just leave everything as it is - a photographer's dream : ) The old car in this photo matched the colour of his old quanset barn, seen in the previous image.
On the way home, I called in at the Saskatoon Farm to see if the restaurant was still open, but it had just closed (3:30 pm). I realized I had been enjoying myself so much that I had totally forgotten to eat anything all day. Managed to get a much-needed cup of coffee, though, and I did buy a box of frozen, uncooked Saskatoon Berry and White Chocolate scones. I bought some of these last time I was there and they are so good, piping hot, straight out of the oven.
