this avacado was underripe (as I feared), so I thought I'd make use of it as a model for a light, shadow & color study....

Tonight was a quick dinner of chicken soft tacos. I warm the soft flour tortillas in a pan to absorb the moisture and make this soft yet crispy, I baked chopped pieces of chicken breasts (coated with dry breadcrumbs and my blend of seasonings and spices) and added fresh veg. The creamy avacado replaces and substitutes sour cream or other toppings so well.

The lime watermellon avacado and the apprles were all part of a photo set the depectied green fruits.

Toni was afraid to take the pic.. thought I was gonna put them in another place :)

So today I tried an avacado for the first time. I've set myself a challenge to try a number of 'new' foods this year.

Just blend the flesh of 3 avacados with 1/3 cup milk and mix in in sweetened condensed milk and fresh lime juice until you like the flavor. I'd estimate I put in maybe 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk and all the juice from one lime. It was fairly mild that way, but nice and creamy of course

wow, this unassuming opalescent broth is packed full of flavor! the lime and cilantro are classic and the shrimp [even for me!] was wonderful. i added fresh avacado slices and we grilled some corn tortillas to complete the meal.

I met Mark Warburton for dinner Thursday evening. He lives and works in Tokyo. He took me to Rainbow Roll Sushi, which was a fusion Japanese sushi restaurant. Much more like what you'd find in California. Very nice presentation and tasty.

This is a close-up view of a window (with a sprouting avacado pit) and a red balcony door, as featured in my Spoonflower "Doors and Windows" entry.
