They had meat pies as an appetizer - they aren't called empanadas in Brazil - don't remember what they called them actually - but they were good. At the Ilhote Sul restaurant, Macae, Brazil.

Lemon grass encrusted skewered shrimp and scallops on a bed of frisee/asian lime chili sauce

Pricey for an appetizer but had to order it anyway and it wasn't half bad.
