I really like the Jumping shots people do. There's something fun about jumping in shots. A sign of happiness perhaps?
Well considering I don't look too great when I jump [it's simply not aesthetically pleasing to the eye, one might say] I figured I'd just show the feet. Oh and hands to.
ALSO, wanted to show you folks out there something I did earlier. I was reading in a magazine the other day [reading out aloud to my fellow work-mate Sue] about "30 great ways to enjoy your autumn days!" and they mentioned about being cheered up after looking down at 10 pretty bright nails. So after remembering I had a nail-art nail-polish kit set [I purchased from a craft fair 2 years ago, seeing them sell the same thing this year, more expensive may I add] I went home and decorated my nails. Not only finger nails, but tootsies too!
And what better way to show them off with a jumping picture, well with cropped off feet and hands to show eh?

Promised myself not to be ill. But sadly that promise was broken. Sure I didn't catch a cold from my father, or from all my work mates, or the boss's little boys, or from my friends, or even from my mother!
But I've now got a bad stomach, the salmon I ate upset it immensely.
But nonetheless, I've had my congee, and I've had my western medicine [like ages ago] and a good dose of chinese medicine (bo-jay-yuen!) and I've already sat on the toilet for what seems like eternity and I feel "okish". I guess.
But despite being ill-ish I have things to do! Places to be! People to see!
But I promise you, I'll be back soon[ish]. Just away for two nights. But will be back Tuesday night I promise you!
And I promise you I'll take a self-portrait tomorrow [Monday and on Tuesday]. I promise I'll upload it as soon as I get internet access...! [which'll be when I get home!]
It's only cos I'll be in the middle of nowhere...
Yup it's the Halfterm Retreat for my Youth Group I lead at my church. 2 nights away. Gunna be a ball.
But I have a funny feeling I'll probably end up more ill than I already am. But nothing will stop me from going.
So I promise you... I'll be back :)
Even if I'm ill, injured, sickly, bruised, cold, voiceless, sleep-deprived, rattled, burnt out or just about surviving, I'll be back!

What's the meaning of Easter? I think society has gone crazy and the true meaning of Easter has been tainted by chocolate eggs, bunnies and chicks. Bleh.
It's like the cross is gradually fading away. Hmmm....
I'm not too keen on this altogether. By the time I started drawing eggs on my cheeks, chin and then proceeding to the forehead I wished I had a better plan. Drawing on your face is really hard. Makes a change from the hand. But still. I didn't have much time to waste, so couldn't scrap this idea and faff while waiting for more creativity to hit me. So after 1 hour and 20 minutes: the drawing, shooting, wiping-down-face and post-processing, all done and finished. And I'm not happy with the results. No matter

Знакомьтесь, это очень бюджетный по цене аппарат совсем не бюджетен по начинке. Чем же он выделяется на фоне конкурентов своего ценового сегмента? У него есть LTE и Android 5. При схожих характеристиках ZTE Blade V2 не обновляется с 4.4. Почему это так важно?
Чем отличается флагман от бюджетной модели? Да-да, есть какие-то цифры. В процессе использования чувствуется разница в отзывчивости девайса. Именно скромным характеристикам наиболее популярных бюджетных моделей обязан своим появлением миф о том, что "Андроид тормозит". Здесь все иначе: мощный процессор и оптимизированная версия андроида позволяют забыть о лагах.
4-ядерный процессор обладает относительно небольшой частотой (1ГГц), зато разрядность 64бит позволяет достигать производительности (19965 Antutu) при энергоэффективности.
Смартфон поставляет в привычной комплектации: зарядник (1А), провод, наушники, гарантийник и инструкция. Сама коробка достаточно простая, без излишней претенциозности, компания не тратила деньги на лишнее, поэтому получился хороший телефон. У A2010 разборный корпус и съемная батарея емкостью в 2000mAh.
Под крышкой скрываются разъемы для двух сим-карт и microSD карты объемом до 32Gb. Продолжая тему разъемов, на верхней грани разместились microUSB и 3,5мм jack для ганритуры или наушников. Корпус телефона выполнен из пластика, вроде бы самого простого, но телефон приятно и надежно лежит в руке, не чувствуется люфтов и скрипа.
Процесс полной загрузки проходит за полминуты (у Lenovo есть фирменный режим быстрого старта).
Сразу после запуска на экране уведомлений появляется приглашение что-то настроить для сим карты. Она у нас одна. Однако соответствующее меню позволит указать, какую sim-карту использовать для звонков, а какую для выхода в интернет. Собственно только 1 разъем умеет 3g-4g, второй работает только в режиме 2g.
Главный экран представлен собственным лаунчером LenovoOS, в нем нет отдельного меню приложений и все устанавливается на рабочие столы. Это непривычно, но возможность создания папок исправляет возможные неудобства.
Стандартный набор приложений дополнен Evernote (облачные заметки), клиентом для Вконтакте, UC браузером, Qiwi кошельком, и приложением Guvera, предлагающего прослушивание музыки online с просмотром рекламы. В общем при всем этом из 8Гб встроенной памяти свободными для пользователя остается около 3,8ГБ
Этот телефон продается со скидкой Билайном (4000р). Поэтому в него была установлена симка Bee, однако это не брендированное залоченное устройство и работать он может и с другими операторами. Проведем поиск доступных сетей:
Что касается работы с сетями, настройки режимов весьма скромные: выбора конкретного режима для 3g и LTE нет.
Сеть есть, но попытка зайти в интернет оборачивается сообщением о неправильной дате. Синхронизация времени по сети почему-то не сработала. Выставляем руками
Теперь... Ну да, LTE работает. Продолжим работу через Wi-Fi. Кстати, при подключении к интернету прилетело обновление (с 5.1 до 5.1.2) Заодно замерим скорость соединения с WiFi
Кроме ускоренного запуска приложений новый телефон готов порадовать управлением автозагрузкой и фоновой деятельностью установленного софта. Именно такая теневая жизнь является причиной еще одного мифа о "Жоре батареи".
Говоря о телефоне невозможно пропустить саму телефонную часть.
Поступивший или совершенный звонок отмечается в истории с указанием симки, к которой он относится:
При получении звонка телефон переключается в 3G режим. Кстати встроенная звонилка поддерживает запись звонка.
Новый андроид отличается не только производительностью, но и интерфейсом. В данном случае речь идет о материальном дизайне. Например особое внимание стоит уделить шторке уведомлений и переключателей:
Смартфон обладает встроенным приемником GPS, спутники поймал из окна за минуту
Судя по номерам спутников ГЛОНАСС не поддерживается.
Экран устройства использует TFT матрицу, однако существенных искажений нет. Яркость вполне достаточна даже для яркого дня, к сожалению отсутствие оптического сенсора не позволяет использовать автоподстройку. Дисплей поддерживает 2 одновременных касания:
Мало, но достаточно для большинства повседневных нужд. Точность сенсора в норме и не вызывает претензий.
Слабым местом гаджета является камера. Конечно ожидать потрясающих фото от устройства эконом класса странно. Но у нее нет фокуса, даже если поставить официальную версию google камера. Попытка съемки коробки окончились фиаско, лист А4 на большем удалении получился значительно лучше.

After several attempts of doing a few other shots and nearly losing my marbles, I came up with this idea.
Mirrors. Always interesting things these are. I used to think mirrors were the window view to an opposite world. Hmm. Maybe inspired by Alice and the looking glass? Actually thinking about it, it would probably be down to the fact that I watched The Poltergeist as a young child, watching clips about the reflection of the little girl who was really scary....
I know several people who are scared to look at mirrors at night time in fear of seeing something they aren't meant to see, like some scary man standing in the corner or seeing not your face but your skull, or something sick like that.
But whenever I come across the mirrors at night it's usually when I'm half asleep and making a trip to the toilet, without my glasses, so I wouldn't be able to see the mirrors to freak myself out anyway!
But none the less, mirrors are such a good invention, whoever discovered or created them, still awesome. Back in the old days they just used metals or even a large tub of water just to see ones reflection. Interesting how today we MUST have mirrors. But back in medieval days people didn't even know what they looked like except for the faint outline upon the water's reflection etc.
I wouldn't say I was vain. But it is important to keep one's appearance acceptable. But I wouldn't go as far as carrying a mirror in my pocket. But one thing I do love seeing are smashed up mirrors, it's really cool how the reflections are then so messed up, well not that I've ever smashed up mirrors [not that I'm superstitious] But it's just cool to see the messed up patterns in the reflections.
To end I want to thank God for mirrors, I wouldn't know where I'd be without it. Well, I know if there weren't mirrors around eyebrows would grow bushy, how would I put on mascara? Lipstick? Squeeze my blemishes. Oh and not to mention hair styles, hair cuts. and most vitally, how would contact lens wearers pop in their contacts eh?
Oh how we take mirrors for granted.

We went to the doctor for our week 38 check up. I am now 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I lost a pound - hooray, since last week, which my mom says is a good sign that labor will happen soon. My parents came into town for the weekend and Dr. Crane was on call all weekend so we were really hoping the baby would make his debut but he hasn't. Hopefully it won't be much longer! Chad and I are getting ansy!!

Сегодня я обнаружил неприятный "подарок" от НТВ+. Они перемешали все каналы: не добавили или удалили, а сменили нумерацию всем. Оказалось, что в телевизоре стояла настройка автообновления списка и я получил полный киш-миш.
Переключите так, чтобы избежать проблем
На самом деле в моем пакете каналов целая гора всячины, но смотрю я лишь немного: NatGeo, Discovery, Наука 2.0, History, Euronews. Иногда, когда хочется болтологии могу и на РБК переключиться. Я очень рад, что у абонентов этого оператора есть более 600 каналов, но листать туда-сюда их мне лениво, тем более, что я точно знаю, чего именно я хочу: один из 5-6 каналов. Я их помнил по номерам, а теперь все в труху. На форуме компании предлагается поменять руками номера каналов, однако как я не искал этот функционал-его не было (у меня еще была надежда вернуть старый порядок). Оказалось, что надо было сканировать в ручном режиме каналы, при это функция редактирования номера действительно становится доступна, но вот порядок становится совсем невменяемым. Чисто гипотетически это уже вопрос времени и терпения. Однако терпения не хватает делать это пультом. Вот рабочий способ:
1. Зажимаем SETTINGS
и ждем пока меню пропадет и появится инфа о канале. (теперь можно отпустить)
2. При показе инфы о канале быстренько набираем 1105 и жмем ОК.
3. Выбираем клонирование и скидываем конфиг на флешку.
4. При помощи этой программы (скачать тут) тут, открываете файл (который с названием модели).
5. Переделываем всё, как душе угодно.
6. Сохраняемся
7. Грузим в ТВ, он выключается.
10. Включаем. Радуемся нужному нам списку. Кстати из программы его можно и распечатать себе
Результат И распечатка, все же номера поменялись, хотя их теперь и пролистать несложно.
Заодно из списка были выпилены те каналы, которые не входят в пакет и какая-то полная хрень. Теперь я доволен. И котик тоже.

This is part of the Love In Taiwan themed set.
Here in Taiwan, I was thinking of what I could capture to depict the love in Taiwan.
And what a better way than to demonstrate with the famous Taiwanese Bubble Tea [click on link to read all about it on Wiki].
So many people drink the stuff, it's craaazy. I remember trying it on the 2nd night upon arrival. I wouldn't say I'm addicted to it like many folks are, I personally like to drink milk tea plain. These bubbles get in the way, not to mention, they are extremely chewy [ok, you can get large balls or small balls]. But you end up chewing on them forever. And then when you're done with the drink you don't really need to eat dinner.
Oh and did you know, a drink itself, can be as much as 400 calories.
Each little pearl/tapioca ball/bubble/boba have 10 calories EACH, and in one cup you'd probably get roughly 25-45 [or more] bubbles. And then the milk is undoubtedly full fat. And then on top of that people want to add sugar too....
Craaaaziness. I may not love it. but the whole of Taiwan does.
