After a long day up in Jefferson County exploring some new open spaces, we caught the sunset on the way home. We passed this lone barn in the distance and although we couldn't pull over I did roll down my window and lean out to get this shot. (This hopefully explains the lower quality.) It was just too picturesque to miss. The skies were gorgeous, heavier clouds drifting yet the sun slowly sinking with a lazy summer mood. The seasons are clashing here. Some days we will have weather in the 60s and 70s and then a day later still yet SNOW! Hard for me not to be ansy. I don't ever remember feeling as anxious for the warm promises of Spring and Summer before. This picture reminds me of long summer days, the heat of the sun on your shoulders, the sweet smell of warm grass in the air. Although the mountains are a bit far off they are still a reminder that they are there and waiting should you feel the urge to wander that way. ;)

Thank you for listening to my rambles.

Much love always, Rachel

A collection of words and phrases that I have unfortunately received throughout my lifetime.

They say "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me".

I don't agree. Words hurt. You may feel feel physical pain, but you'll heal and you may or may not feel the intensity of that pain in the future. But as for words, they'll always be there to haunt you, at the back of your lexical bank (i.e. language part of your brain), and you'll feel and remember the humiliation all over again, when that someone said that something to you, a long long long time ago.

It's hard to forgive. And hard to forget. But if you forgive, you'll soon forget. You'll forget why you had to forgive them in the first place. Geddit?

I guess I've forgiven the many people who said the things as shown above. But I'm working on the forgetting part. But in the mean time, the collection above just keeps growing and growing.

[I'm sure there's like billions more insults, criticisms and snide remarks, but I've forgotten them. A good thing, no?]

Are you kiddin'? I'd never hurt a fly!

Llibertat pels presos polític i retorn pels exiliats.

Brúarfoss (pronounced Broo-ar-foss, slightly roll the first "r") might be one of the most photographed waterfalls in Iceland and it's easy to see why: it has multiple cascades of little waterfalls that pour into one larger stream as they make their way down several shelves. Throw in the amazingly blue water and you've got a magical scene.

There was a slight drizzle as we pulled into the residential area outside Brúarfoss. It's a little tricky to find your way to this waterfall but Sarah and Ron's book "Forever Light" gave the perfect directions (follow them! Some friend's didn't and got very lost). Sammi was getting ansy to go to the next place and was waterfall'd out by the end of our trip so I had just enough time to grab a few shots from the bridge and then run off. With some more time I would have gone down closer to the ledges and taken a few more shots from some more unique angles.

I still can’t get over how blue and amazing the water is here!

Chocola ansy.

This is one of the many cakes I shot for my sister's up and coming side-cake-business!

I featured the cake photoshoot previously for my Day 210.

But I would say this is my most favourite cake design of all that were shot that day. I finished post-processing all the photos last night. So here's a sample :)

I helped put the yellow edible dust in the middle of the orchids, just to add a little something to them...!

My last but one secret, or my 29th secret is this: I will go to any means to make sure I eat with the "perfect fork".

Let me explain.

I hate hate hate, absolutely hate wonky forks (view picture below).

It's just wrong. And if you know me well enough, you will know I will do anything I can to trade for the perfect fork, allowing the food to just slide off the fork, and go smoothly into my mouth, between the teeth. No disruptions. No wonky metal banging against my teeth. Sort of thing.

You see, the wonky forks are just wrong. Either (a) someone has nibbled on the fork before me. Ew. See what I mean? That's just wrong and gross! Then I start thinking about... What if this fork aint cleaned properly?!?!?!

And (b) the place I am eating at has no care in the world for their cutlery, and just shoves it in the dishwasher. Fork-spike down. Causing the fork spikes to be wedged on the bottom of the basket thing, and the dishwasher's almighty powerful water spray causes the forks to get wonky. (My friend Ally once explained to me).

I don't care. I dislike them. A lot. (Actually only Ally knows this secret about me!) I don't get many wonky forks at home. Namely because we don't have a dishwasher. And we wash the forks one-by-one: giving them all the tender loving care they deserve (and also to preserve it from being wonky).

Typical places I find wonky forks:

- University refractories and cafeterias.

- Other schools for that matter

- Hospitals

- Non-classy restaurants (Even top-end classy restaurants aren't classy when I find they have wonky forks!)

- Cafes.

And some homes.

Anyway. I will do anything I can to eat with the perfect fork. And with a perfect fork, I start to eat the yummy food. And everything is wonderful :)

For the rest of this month of May, I have decided to take this opportunity to do the

30 SECRETS IN 30 DAYS challenge! I will tell you my secrets. Day-by-day :) Ok, some may seem like facts, but they're still things not many people know about, thus qualifying them to BE secrets. Heh.

Don't forget to check out the behind-the-scenes for today's shot folks!

Was really stuck for what idea to do today. And it's been a while since I've done anything 365-creativesque. So after faffing around for a while deciding, I came up with this.

Now I'm off to London and Oxford baby!

yup, these sugar sprinkles went EVERYWHERE and also within the cracks of my laptop keyboard! noooo! Some letters aren't working... like the number between 7_9 and the letter "o" makes a crunching sound everytime I type that letter!!!! nooo!

Please also see the behind the scenes. Ta.

Figured I'd introduce a few of my favourite books in this 365 project.

Of course, there are others that I ultimately love, but sadly I either don't own a copy or I have lent to a friend; thus some are not included :(

I borrow books regularly from the library, and a lot of books I end up developing a love affair with. But in the end I have to return them :(

In the future, I'd like to have my own library of books, a large collection of books, because, well, I absolutely adore books. I love a good read :)

Was a little limited as to what I could say in the notes. But I guess if it weren't for these limitations, I could've written an assignment about each and every book

Or should I say, a Cyclops?

Alright alright. Totally inspired! Totally inspired! It's always nice to just turn to favourites and get some inspiration. Imitation is a form of flattery, as they say :)

Took me a while. But we got there. Of course, I don't think mine's as good as the one I copied. Of course, it would've been so much better if I had blue eyes. But sadly God made sure I had brown eyes :(

Oh well.

The eyeball was also a photo taken today! I had to shoot the eye, post process (while bringing out the colours a wee bit more) do everything a normal kid would when post-processing, print then cut, then take another image and do the exact same stuff before uploading! A lot of work for just ONE 365 day shot... Haha.

NB. I don't usually have that many spots, it's playing around with the contrast and high-saturation that made the spots (what spots?) suddenly appear. This is why I hate high-contrast and high-saturation because I have ugly skin :*(

On Thursdays I find photos that I love, that inspire me, that bring a smile to my face, or that give me a sense of peace. I wanted to share these wonderful works of art from some truly awesome photographers. Please stop by their streams by clicking on the links below...

And you can easily gamble your life away, second after second and day by day.

You play the game or you walk away, it's a new turn on a blue day and a cool deal of life for me, and it's all good.

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier. I know that the clubs are weapons of war. I know that diamonds mean money for this art. But that's not the shape of my heart.

I was pretty busy throughout today and only found a quiet moment at work tonight (was a wise decision yet again to bring my camera into work, two days in a row!) And was pretty stuck as to what to do for today's 365 shot. I hadn't really thought of anything throughout the day. But then looking around me, (I had, at that point, completely boycotted the Daily Mail paper and the suduko page because I found it difficult to complete the rest.) When inspiration struck.

I've had a few close, close friends tell me how much they love the photos where I draw on myself. And I decided that I do too. It's fun, drawing on oneself (I even fell asleep once after writing a reminder on the back of my hand one night, only to wake up with an imprint of the message on my cheek the next morning!)

So here is tonight's 365 suduko to go.

A little something for all the folks out there who also enjoy suduko too!

I wouldn't say I'm a suduko addict, like my bestfriend (she nearly failed her degree thanks be to suduko in The Times!!) or my sister's father in law who can't sleep unless he does one before bedtime (or something crazy like that). But I don't mind it now and then, I'd only do it if I was bored and had nothing else better to do... and just so as long as it's easy.

If you wanna, just play! Feel free to tag in the numbers!

And you may also wanna check out another photo tribute to another game! Madness!

my life is in the palm of your hand Lord.

I want to dedicate this one to a long list of people right now. So many people are at the crossroad of life, faced with the dilemma of deciding which way to turn, which route to take. etc. So many of my friends. My heart goes out to them, mainly because I can completely understand. I too am faced with such a dilemma. Not my idea of fun.

I could go on to list all those names. But I shant. Because there are two people in my life who I just have to mention.

This photo was made and taken especially with my dearest sister Daisy and her newly wedded husband, my new-brother-in-law Allan, in mind. Faced with such trials and tribulations right now. I give you this image and these words with all my heart, with my prayers and encouragement. In Jesus's love and mine..

Family matters the most.

Freestyle painted in 2010. Photo by Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! Edited by EROS. Thanks Homie! Great shots of the whole train. I hadn't been able to get out for a little while and was starting to get ansy. One of the Homies came to town and really wanted to get up. Another Homie was already getting up and when we contacted him, he told us to come meet him out in the yard because he had room on the car he was rockin'. In his words,"The panel next to me is open". We were running a little late but made our way out to the spot about an hour or so after he told us to come out. When we got there, we ran into a couple of the local writers finishing up and about to make their exit from the yard. It was like a tag team. They left, as we were just about to get in the ring and have our own battle with massive, steel beast. We chatted for a little while with the Homie and since I was the old guy, I took the panel to the right. As the younger crew member was about to walk away, I said to him,"where you going?". He looked at me a little sideways and said "well since your taking this spot, I'm going to go find another car to rock." I politely reminded him that the door looked pretty nice and that way we could all rock an "E to E" together. Something that the Homie and I have never gotten a chance to do with our Graff names. He took about a half minute to look over the door and then just started going at it. I was really impressed at how unselfish he was and his "Yard Core" spirit. A couple hours later, we all finished and sat back and reveled in our accomplishment, then bounced. I have to say, Rocking E to E's over the doors and really filling up a train with dope pieces, still and probably will always be, the stuff that makes me get up in the morning. (next to the Fam and that annoying alarm clock....... haha) Anyway, it's times like these where real memories are made and great experiences with friends are to be had. I wouldn't change it for the world. P.S. If you like "Last Night!"s, then you'll like todays too.

thanks Mel for being my tripod today when I didn't bring my tripod out to play. She just held it and I pressed the self-timer button and quickly ran off.... hehe....

funnily enough today's church sermon was on the parable of the Lost Coin.

So I'm not so lucky in love, and always experience unrequited love, all this is because of my next secret...

My 14th secret is this: I get too attached too easily. Emotional attachment.

It's just the way I have always been. Getting too attached to guys when they pay the slightest bit of attention to me, I grab hold of it and it scares them. And then unrequited love is the result. So yup.

I've been told countless amount of times not to get too emotionally attached. Ivy always tells me and reminds me of this.

And thus, I always refer to Proverbs 4:23 "Guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life". Time and time, when I need reminding, somehow, somewhere, miraculously this verse pops up. And my guess is, it's God reminding me.

Because a lot of the time I don't guard my heart. And then I get too attached to some guy. And then it messes me up.

In uni I did a module called "Communicating in relationships". And basically it was more psychological than anything. And my problem with attachment can be explained by the Attachment Theory table [which I totally agree applies to me, personally, and perhaps my sisters too....].

So that concludes the three secrets relating to the heart. My heart. Three juicy secrets. I believe there's a reason for my attachment problem. But God is working something out :)

For the rest of this month of May, I have decided to take this opportunity to do the

The Hall of Bones.

As there was so little ground space, you only had a limited time in the graves. After 7 years or so, you were dug back up and then your relatives would decorate your skull and it would be placed into this room. After about the 60s, this stopped because cremation was okayed by the Catholic Church. The room itself was really quite small.

What a nightmare this shot was to do!!! I had planned on having my whole face covered and in shot. But as soon as the Polo mints got stuck on, and i stood in front of the camera, they started to fall off again!!!

Oh well, I think i just about rescued the shot and got something salvageable, note to everyone else, polo mints + PVA glue + camera equipment = loosing your temper and getting very frustrated. (and not helped when your wife is crying with laughter and you can't move a muscle in your face for fear of even more falling off)

My 25th secret is this: I have a very unhealthy fixation / obsession with journals and notebooks.

Recently, as you may note from my day 232 I've been decluttering my bedroom. I have come to realise I have more notebooks and journals than a stationery store [well, or nearly].

Sure my fixations aren't normal, as shown on day 221, but no fixations are normal, surely?

I have spent the majority of my life marveling at new note books and journals. And hours debating about which to buy. Sometimes I go crazy. Especially during the "Sales" time.

Loads aren't used, mainly because I don't want to ruin them. But then I love love LOVE the feeling of starting a new notebook :) hence why loads of these notebooks I have started, yet have not finished!!!! about 5 pages in and I've forgotten about them!

Read the notes. Some were given to me. Some were sale purchases. Some I just had to buy. Some are brand new (too good, and I don't want to ruin them and use them!) and some are full of words! Go read the notes!

I'm starting to really enjoy friday's thanks to Fancy Dress Friday! It's such a great group and there are some epic epic characters all dressed up for one-day-only! Hehe. And it's always great fun to dress up myself on a Friday :)

I've had this idea to dress up as the neighbour-from-hell / landlady-from-hell for a while now after coming across some ancient NHS plastic frames my sister used to wear, and the hair-curlers.. Good stuff :) Love fancy dress. But it's a shame I don't get invited to fancy dress parties that often anymore. I think it's because my friends don't bother because they know I go all out and dress up full on. Anyway. Hence why I love Fancy-Dress-Friday :)

So I decided to hang out with Gucci in her bedroom [which only takes up a mere 2% space in my bedroom. She's just hanging out online. I'm just hanging out online. And all you can hear are both our laptop machines purring and the pitter-patter clicking caused by our typing. She's shopping online. And I'm merely flickring or facebooking.

One day, when I get the space and room in one's bedroom, I think, no, we think [both Gucci and I] will probably revamp her bedroom, and get an extension done somewhere, perhaps a funky little lounge with a decent plasma tv or something... so she and I can watch chickflicks or something.

On the serious note, this didn't work out the way I expected, by the time I put it all together it was a bit too late, and I was already getting hot and flustered in my winter coat [well it IS early autumn, and a bit warm to be wearing that, all the time, indoors]. And not to mention about 10 takes just to get the right lighting, angle of body, angle of laptop and well... good enough "look" so that it'd all look natural sort of thing...

Heres an old one of Gucci and Penny hanging out. Actually where is Penny these days?!
