I couldn't think of anything creative today, because I used it all up for yesterday's day 5 pluto post.

 

So I decided to do what many people on flickr do, the fridge shot.... Apologies for the boring shot.

I hate my thumb. The one thing I hate most about my body (and believe me there are many), it's got to be my thumb.

I don't actually get that much money in red packets. Mainly because I don't live in China/Hong Kong (relatives abroad don't need to give kids and non-married people like me, because they don't see me...) So, here in UK not all adults give to us kids.

Also, my parents don't give as much, as say some other parents, mainly because I come from a large family (where money can be scarce at times) so they have to equally distribute to my family of six kids (as always... and favouritism is never an issue so that's a good thing :) ). But still, we're a poor and humble little family, so it's ok. It's better to be poor, humble and appreciate life, than be proud, arrogant and unsatisfied.... right?

 

Last year my friend's brother bragged about the couple of hundred pounds he was given over the new year, whilst I didn't even reach 50 pounds.... Hate people who brag about that. Or brag about anything in general. It's just money. I'm from a large family, but poor. Who cares?! It's the New Year, so let's just be happy we're alive...

 

The red packets/envelopes as shown above aren't actually filled with money, all par the one I hold.

They're all empty, brand new packets... Excess stock left over from when my mother had a Chinese-gift-shop. Now we've got a lot of stock left (for a few good years too!) so I decided to do something with them....

I also think that the lack of photoshop, because the main mothership computer is playing up and taking ages to load when switching on; and the CS3 trial on my current laptop is over.... is making pushing forcing me to take better pictures and not to rely on photoshop as much. I've been told, if you get it right on camera, you save a lot of time later... I'm learning, what can I say? But one thing that is annoying me is the hair and being able to make out the outline of my breast(!) because it wasn't dark enough there. But oh well.

The leaves, on the other hand were stolen picked up from a nearby footpath by my house, mainly because the mother skins all our trees to avoid having to sweep the autumn leaves in the garden, early September....

Итак, коробка почти та же, внешний вид тоже похож. Поменялись местами грань с кнопками и динамик, камера переехала в центр. Главное нововведение: крышка на отсек для SIM карты и MicroSD флешки.

Изменения символические, зато дизайн весьма узнаваем. Кстати производитель теперь ZTE. Чуть более существенные изменения в комплектности. Набор тот же, но зарядник стал в 3 раза мощнее. Самая новизна начинается при включении, благодаря переходу на свежий Android.

Рабочий стол визуально не изменился, хотя появились новые приложения и исчезла часть старых

Кстати совсем лишние можно удалить без ROOT, например Mail.ru, LaModa и Литрес.

Кстати, что там яндекс плакался по поводу запрета на его установку рядом с гуглом? Вполне уместное соседство (если на задумываться насчет батареи).

Имения постигли и шторку, что несколько неудобно для управления одной рукой, а вот в звонилке появилась запись.

Несмотря на то, что интерфейс предполагает жесткий выбор режима сети, 4G выбрать можно только рекомендованным. То есть возможны произвольные скачки на 3g. Вот такое богатое разнообразие в эфире и совсем исчез Ростелеком. Зато у Yota появились собственные 2G и 3G.

Появились режимы работы в качестве USB модема и WiFi Direct, что весьма неожиданно для бюджетного устройства.

Появилась технология MTK -- MiraVision, отвечающая за расширенную настройку параметров экрана.

Кроме этого, появилась возможность выбора внешнего дисплея. Такой функции ни на одном бюджетном устройстве я не встречал.

Предустановленной памяти в 2 раза больше,пользователю доступно более 3ГБ.

Добавился функционал управления включения-выключения по таймеру

В функции SmartLock доступны возможности блокировки по местоположению, устройствам, голосу, лицу. Кроме этого есть функция физический контакт.

Несмотря на то, что в меню есть соответствующий пункт, Wi-Fi 5ГГц девайс так и не увидел. Хотя стандарт N судя по скорости соединения все же поддерживается, хотя и в каком-то частичном виде.

Приятно радует выбор режима работы сети. Увы, не все даже флагманы дают возможности выбрать жестко LTE или 3G, что бывает оправдано в условиях слабого приема. Еще отдельный интерес вызывают пункты меню, посвященные уведомлению о ЧС в РФ и ... Индии.

Что касается памяти, то ее 8ГБ, но пользователю доступно только 3,73. При этом предуставновленных приложений немного, мусора почти нет. Но удивляет, что все они удаляются, а Play Market установлен как сторонний.

Присутствует функционал записи, как обычно не автоматический. Кстати если с телефоном ведется работа, звонок приходит в виде уведомления, а не в полноэкранном режиме.

Кстати нетронутыми остались диспетчер задач и интерфейс смс.

Что касается пары лишних приложений, то одно представляет из себя какой-то китайский индийский маркет, а второе еще один мессенджер. Все это сносится без root.

Свободной оперативки около 300Мб, внутренняя флешка зачем-то поделена на 2 раздела, из-за чего пользователю доступно только 3,72Gb. Процессор имеет 4 ядра с частотой 1,1ГГц. Экран имеет разрешение 480x854, что более, чем достаточно при небольшой диагонали в 4,5". При этом сенсор поддерживает 2 касания, зато работает точно и уверенно. Из датчиков: акселерометр, датчик освещенности и приближения.

Что касается коммуникаций смарта, то представлены замеры скорости для 4G/3G/Wi-Fi. [максимальныую скорость 4G для аппарата удалось поймать на Б.Покровской, она превысила 60МБ/с, что быстрее даже некоторых домашних проводных соединений]. Спутники нашлись менее, чем за минуту. Судя по номерам, это только GPS. Глонасса и Бейдоу нет.

Un d’ells, segurament el de més graduació, amb un posat desafiant, em va fer un gest despectiu amb el dit cor alçat de la mà esquerra, la mateixa mà amb la que sostenia un petit llibre roig i amb la que es gratava la cella. En aquell moment que ja els invasors s’allunyaven del pont i el meu jo retornava a l’estat normal de tranquil·litat, em vaig adonar que havia testimoniat un esdeveniment remarcable de la història i l’havia immortalitzat. Unes hores més tard, a la Plaça de Sant Wenceslau, em trobava dempeus davant un altre escenari, aquest cop especialment sobrecollidor. Al mig del passeig peatonal, a prop del Museu Nacional, hi havia un altar fet d’espelmes, fotografies de víctimes del comunisme i flors que recollien tot el dolor que havia patit la nació txecoslovaca en mans de l’invasor soviètic.

 

És al 1990, quan el comunisme de l’est d’Europa ja agonitzava, que va créixer en mi una irremeiable necessitat, gairebé obsessiva, de viatjar i de fotografiar el món. Un món que s’escapolia contínuament, un món que s’esfumava davant la meva mirada i que mai més no tornaria a repetir-se. O potser també la meva dèria per fotografiar suposava un intent ingenu de demanar-li una treva al meu rellotge. Un intent del tot eixelebrat per aconseguir que la meva vida comptés les hores, els dies, els anys,... sense tants aires d’arrogància. Com d’efímer és tot, fins i tot els invasors acaben essent fugaços! El temps se’m llençava a sobre i jo només desitjava viure intensament.

And then dozing off whilst waiting for photos to finish uploading etc... It's absurd. Or falling asleep whilst waiting for the kettle?!

 

In actual fact my sleeping patterns have been absurd for the past 2 weeks: that is, the week before the conference, and then during the conference (it didn't help waking up at early-o-clock, then staying up til 2.30 on the last evening to hang out with my youth kids, having a laugh.) And not to mention all the crazy exhausting labour before and at the conference! Then there's napping at crazy-times of the day. Then there's the crazy amount of stuff left to be done. And work!

 

So then it didn't help when I found out last night at work that the clocks would have to go forward. A precious hour less! I had to wake up extra early this morning, just to get to church for worship practice :(

 

Anyway. Let's just hope as this week progresses on, the routine goes back to normal, my sleeping pattern will go back to normal too. I've missed normality. I also hope this week will be a good week too. For a change. Crazy crazy times indeed.

This is a tribute shot for my all time favourite Six Feet Under HBO show! I know I already did one a while ago for my Day 139. But I wanted to do another one :)

 

This one was inspired by the Six Feet Under complete series 1 DVD box set. That would be my most favourite cover. And well, both series 1 and the final series 5 have to be my favourites to watch. But obviously, the first pilot show for series 1 kicks ass.

 

I missed the lipstick out because well.. it was just too much work to get "That shot"

(It took me more than 40 shots to get it just right, so hard to shoot one's face at a certain angle, and manage to get lighting and focus and everything right..! it's all trial and error when doing one's face!)
