The Spanish Synagogue is the most recent synagogue in the Prague Jewish Town.
Built in 1868 for the local Reform congregation on the site of the 12th-century Altschul, which was the oldest synagogue in the Prague ghetto.
It was called the Spanish Synagogue for its impressive Moorish interior design, influenced by the famous Alhambra. The building was designed by Josef Niklas and Jan Bělský, the remarkable interior (from 1882–83) by Antonín Baum and Bedřich Münzberger.
František Škroup, the composer of the Czech national anthem, served as organist here in 1836-45.
All right guys, this is my first tv review!
Altered Carbon is set in 2384, where people don’t age or actually die because their consciousness are put in “sleeves”, a term meaning new bodies. Everyone is equipped with “stacks”, which preserves the consciousness at the back of the neck. The main character is Takeshi Kovacs, played by Will Yun Lee in the original body, is a soldier/mercenary of a group, and somehow wakes up 250 years later after he is killed, in a new body, played by Joel Kinnaman. He is a prisoner facing crimes, but is given the decision to help solve the murder of a wealthy “meth”, Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), or remain in prison for life.
So this show is based on a book back in 2002, (which I have never read yet) written by author Richard K. Morgan, despite many people saying the differences like merging characters or derivative of source material. I love the mystery, mood, dark tones, diversity, nice themes and the consciousness thing which could be real and might happen in the future. The story is very rich and engaging, because on the way with Takeshi’s investigation, there are a few subplots and a slew of supporting characters and enemies. Takeshi doesn’t go alone, he’s got Detective Ortega (Maria Higareda) who sometimes works with him or behind his back. Poe, based on Edgar Allan Poe, who is the hotel manager of an A.I hotel named Raven who provides Takeshi his stay and a base (nice nod, because the actor, Chris Conner, does resemble the original). There’s also a military medic, played by Ato Essandoh, and so many characters along the way.
This show is full of visuals, twists and turns, plus some awesome action sequences, flashbacks jumping to 250 years ago and present, plus some sex and violence (you know what I mean). It is highly reminiscent of sci fi movies, games, books and tv shows, notably Blade Runner, the Deus Ex franchise, Total Recall, Robocop and etc. The cast is also great too, they give off great performances, and is pretty diverse.
Last but not least is the terms and expansive vocabulary, which is pretty cool, like “meth” meaning the richest, wealthiest people praised like gods, based on the Biblical figure, Methuselah. The only problems are a few plot holes and the ending, but overall, I’m pretty impressed with the show—-and I’m looking forward to a season 2.
If you’re a fan of sci-fi, just looking for something good to watch, or whatever reasons, this new show that popped up a few days ago should pleasure you. Also, some references and Easter eggs :)

A symbol of the United States Capitol becomes a mirage of mythical creatures fabricated of elaborately carved white steel. Each cut is rendered in the archetypical graphic style of Pacific Northwest Coast Indian imagery.
Stepping into a cage of white lace, the interior space vaults overhead, as a ladder of carved white swings descends from above. Eagle and feather imagery cover the walls. Together these elements suggest the set of an elaborate birdcage, placed ironically and symbolically within the framework of a colonialist political power symbol. Yet, as one ascends the swings, every platform reveals the wisdom of a different Indian Nation carved into the seats. This tangible union of opposites offers itself as a gathering space to ruminate on the origin of American "civilization" amidst the enduring dignity and vision of it's Native Peoples. A government building is transformed into an Altered State.

The Hebrew letters (though slightly impossible to read) are somewhat hard to make a meaning of. If anyone want to have a go you're welcome - though my husband, who teaches classical Hebrew, couldn't quite make it out so it might just be too worn. And as we have found out looking around the Internet, reading Jewish tombstones are somewhat of an art.
This cemetery was the one for the Jewish community from approximately the early 15th century and closed when the whole area was filled up and the burial of the Jewish were continued over at the New Jewish cemetery (dating to around 1890). There are some 12 000 tombstones here and it has been estimated that as many as 100 000 persons have been buried here.
Some time ago I ran across my never-finished altered book, started years ago. It was fun to find, maybe it will evolve :)
Unter Einsatz meines Lebens habe ich mich in die Wiese geschmissen um diesen herrlichen Falter abzulichten. Entdeckt habe ich den in der Nähe der FFW Zwenkau. Zecken, Mücken und anderes Ungeziefer attackierten mich ... habe sie alle eliminiert ... Der Falter flog von Stengel zu Stengel und ich wie ein vergaster hinterher ... das ist dabei rausgekommen ... ich hoffe es gefällt.
Meinungen, Gedanken, Kritiken ... zu dem Bild egal ob positiv oder negativ sind gern willkommen :-)! Also traut Euch ... der FRED beißt nicht ...
Well, i decided to stop a little with my mineral crystals as i know it´s not for everyone´s taste. For me they are amazing as they represent the visible way of the order of molecules and the chemical link in the basis of our universe. :)
But for not doing an extreme change in my gallery, i post geology in all its manifestation! Altered mountains. Color created by the hidrothermal fluids that change the rock physical and chemical composition. A view to remember. Love this place.
This was my last night in Olympic National Park. I was fortunate enough to peep over Kurt Budligers shoulder on this adventure and man can that guy take a photo… His shot is better than mine for sure, but I was happy enough to catch the sunstar by accident. I took 151 photos waiting for it to pop out the other side but it never did. I hadn’t realized that I caught it in my first two shots before the sun sank behind the rocks, and I liked the composition too much to try and alter it for the sunstar.
I can’t wait to shoot with this guy again…
In the end this was 4 exposures blended together. One for the sky, one for the reflection, one for the warm sand ripples and one for the sunstar.
