Another fun Morning shoot at the Iconic Tipsoo Lake with a few fellow photographers. This awesome lenticular cloud never moved from its spot during the 2 or more hour shoot, however it did change shape every few minutes. I liked this scene the best as the cloud resembled some kind of spaceship. This photo was taken about an hour before sunrise, if you look closely you can still see a few stars in the sky. Hope you all enjoy and thanks for any constructive comments.

The crew of the Sulaco in hypersleep, en route to LV426.
Some Aliens movie trivia for you: There were 15 crew members on board the Sulaco - so the number of cryo pods in this picture is movie-accurate!!
If you watch the excellent 'Making of Aliens' documentary on Youtube you'll find they used the same mirror technique to multiply the number of cryo pods in the movie scene. This was in the days before CGI of course.
PS. This shot has not been photoshopped atall - although in retrospect it could have done with a little to remove the mirror line across the floor.

All in-camera FX - no photoshop. The APC and camera are stationary; Everything else moves. Camera settings: ISO 800, F3.5, 1/2s exposure.
Lighting: LED torches behind back-wall. Custom LED lights in APC. Ambient lighting by iPad displaying a white field.

Basically, I love photography - and travel. You could say I travel to take photographs and take photographs to travel.
A nutmeg grater lit from inside. Makes me think of the eggs in the Alien films, especially with the little bits of nutmeg stuck on the outside.

Looks like an alien with a friendly face, but it is the same drop I uploaded yesterday.....but....... a gust of wind turned that drop into this one, I was able to take a last shot before it fell off and disappeared forever.........

A glorious sunset at the salt flats, Death Valley Natl Park!
After countless hours of walking lonely across the whole basin, I finally figured out these amazing formations.
Special thanks to my friend Ernie for helping me zero down onto this location. It was one of those glorious sunsets I have witnessed with the sun just peeping out of the clouds for a few minutes before settling for the day. Even more awesome to have the whole place to myself!
At first this festival-goer was planted firmly on the ground like those before her. Then, she jumped! I managed to capture her as she was jumping up into the light for a selfie. Clever idea.
This quite but alien-looking little guy is a leafhopper in either the Oncopsis or the Macropsis genus. Unfortunately the photo isn't from an angle which would make it possible to identify further - but it is still a cutie, right?
