Not Afraid Anymore

"I am not ashamed anymore

I want something so impure

You better impress now, watching my dress now fall to the floor

Crawling underneath my skin, sweet talk with a hint of sin

Begging you to take me

Devil underneath your grin, sweet thing, but she play to win, heaven gonna hate me

And touch me like you never

And push me like you never

And touch me like you never

'Cause I am not afraid, I am not afraid anymore

No no no

Crawling underneath my skin, sweet talk with a hint of sin

Begging you to take me

Devil underneath your grin, sweet thing, bet you play to win, heaven gonna hate me."

While whale watching in Alaska we came across this pack of harbor seals. I was fortunate to capture this individual looking right at me. His expression looked as if he feared what might be lurking below h surface. We saw a pack of orcas earlier in the day...

. . . be very afraid!

Cassowaries are very large flightless birds native to the tropical forests of New Guinea and northeastern Australia. Fallen fruit and fruit on low branches is the mainstay of their diet but they also eat fungi, snails, insects, frogs, snakes and other small animals.

The 2004 edition of the Guinness World Records lists the cassowary as the world's most dangerous bird. Adult Southern Cassowaries are 1.5 to 1.8 m (5 to 6 feet) tall, although some females may reach 2 m (6 feet 8 inches), and weigh about 70 kilograms (154 pounds). Their three-toed feet have sharp claws with the dagger-like middle claw 120 mm (5 inches) long. This claw is particularly dangerous since the Cassowary can use it to kill an enemy, disembowelling it with a single kick.

Normally they are very shy but when disturbed can lash out dangerously with their powerful legs and are capable of inflicting fatal injuries to an adult human. Usually, attacks are the result of provocation. They are considered to be one of the most dangerous animals to keep in zoos, based on the frequency and severity of injuries incurred by zookeepers.

This specimen was 'shot' whilst out on safari yesterday with neilalderney123 at the snake farm and show on the Bangkok Yai khlongs (canals).

I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship. ~ Louisa May Alcott

Be afraid of the lame, they'll inherit your legs.

Be afraid of the old, they'll inherit your souls.

Be afraid of the cold, they'll inherit your blood.

Après moi, le déluge, after me comes the flood.

If you are a small rodent, you just might be in eyesight of this northern hawk owl in the woods of Gatineau.

afraid I've had a nasty strain of Pneumonia recently......more like a fever......keep falling asleep can't breath so well & disorientating ....just the job for Christmas

yep I missed Christmas & my birthday & don't remeber actually doing this image.....that was about 12 days ago & the last thing I did until coming round a couple of days ago & now getting over it but just so tired....3 weeks of being in & out of reality & not the nicest way to spend the Hols...

I do remember wishing it was Spring & the bulbs were out in the garden & now just glad to be here.....a scary trip indeed

A reminder of just how vulnerable we humans are & how close to to wind we sometimes sail without even knowing

Hope you have a Very Happy & Healthy New Year

22.8.2015. Not the best composition I'm afraid but worth uploading as a reasonably interesting shot!

Freightliner's Class 70 No 70011 and Class 66's Nos 66533 and 66566 pass Eaton Lane with a Saturday morning Felixstowe - Leeds liner.

I've been taking a lot of photos lately, Finally seeing a little change in my work... hopefully for the better.

The hummers are numerous, ravenous and pugnacious. This one interrupted a fight with another bird and stopped by for a drink even though I was standing just a few feet away.

Mon "petit" bison Ciboulette.

Je crains que bientôt il n'y ait plus qu'elle et Capucine. Praline ne va pas bien, ni la vétérinaire ni moi ne sommes très optimistes. Pour le moment elle a des soins, mais je ne la laisserai pas souffrir.

My "little" bison Ciboulette.

I'm afraid that soon there will only be her and Capucine. Praline is not well, neither the vet nor I are very optimistic. At the moment she is in care, but I won't let her suffer.

The fear lock up my mind,it's torturing my soul..

(This is only an experimental concept , not the self expression.)

I am afraid, no words are enough to describe this place and the moment. Both of my cameras has more than 150 shots of this exact place. Something about it was scaring me that I might not have the best shot yet. It took the darkest part of the golden hour and a shutterspeed of 2 seconds that my camera came up with this shot. The reflection, silence, the sunset colors and the Moon peaking behind the mountains were otherworldly to say the least. I can only hope that this place cross my path again down the road!!!

'But I see your true colors

Shining through

I see your true colors

And that's why I love you

So don't be afraid to let them show

Your true colors

True colors are beautiful

Like a rainbow'

Yes, more Spring colour I'm afraid...

I thought all the local Rhododendrons finished flowering a couple of weeks ago; this one seems to be the exception...!

I'm running very late, so if I don't get to your photo tonight, I'll try and get to it tomorrow...!

Thanks so much for the very kind and encouraging comments beneath this photo...! Your support is very greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone- took this at the Illinois State Fair and wish I could remember what the name of this flower is- is it rubdeckia? I am getting cabin fever as my little one is still ill and really am afraid to go anywhere because sometimes he can't quite make it to the br. He is eating a bit more - so hope it is improving. I definitely do not want to get it! ;o)

Have a great week!

Sometimes, all that's left to do.. is run.

I replaced the original color photo I had uploaded because I favored B & W, but the color's back in comments.

And I just can't keep living this way

So starting today

When I feel most pretty in public, I also feel most afraid.

I don't practice my art for other people. Yet, other people influence the way I feel.

Many (most) are not very polite when asking....

"Why do you dress like that?"

On the surface this question seems to provide an opportunity for useful dialogue.

Perhaps they have genuine curiosity.

Yet, hostility is evident by the questioner's eyes.

"Here we go again." I sigh.

Hey......

Transgender people are not new. We have always been here.

Isn't it time for the world to acknowledge and accept differences that individuals do not control. It is NOT a choice.

Sheeesh - I need a better response.

What would you say?

Couple notes on this photo:

1) A hooded cape is very useful for concealing details of appearance (figure, gait, etc.) - yet its uniqueness draws immediate attention.

2) When out with friends, I'm much less fearful. You see, it is highly unlikely a stranger will defend me from public hostility. it has never happened. In fact, my experience is that a taunting mob might form. Sad. However in this situation, I was with Cristy Garcia, and for sure know - no one would dare cross us. Or else!

OK - I'm afraid that it's another cheesy title. If anyone thinks of anything better I'd be happy to change it!

Another shot from my early morning shoot in Marmaris - Turkey. This was a private pier which belonged to a 5 star hotel, the owner of which was having a beer with his friends at 5.55 am in the morning! I was not sure if he was just starting or just ending the day! I asked for permission to take a few shots and he kindly obliged, then he tried to persuade me to stay at his hotel next time I visit!

I feel that I cut this shot a little fine on the crop and with retrospect might have postioned the camera slightly lower to get more pier and less sky. That said, the pier was actually cordoned off, so I had to balance my tripod over the cordon, to get any shot at all.
