Handmade collage postcard made and sent to me by a Postcrossing member in the United States to thank me for a collage postcard that I sent to her.
This cat ran out of nowhere and basically attacked me for affection today while I was walking around the Philadelphia neighborhood where I babysit with the little girl.
He ran right between my legs and started doing figure eights and meowing like a lunatic. When I pet him, he rolled over and over again on the cement. He was not hurt or lost or even scared. He had a collar and a tag (that he wouldn't let me read but I think it said his name was William). He was just kind of a whore for attention.
I always wanted to be like Dr. Doolittle when I was a kid and watched that movie every time it was on the Sunday matinee on TV. :-)
Bonding is there for all the specs, none of them are out of the bonding.

As we walked around enjoying Barcelona, we often noticed people making out. Apparently the Spanish are very fond of public affection, it was all around us, it seems love is in the air! I'm not talking about just hugging either, but passionate making out on the street corners.

We came upon this pride of lions in the morning just settling under a tree to sleep for the day. We checked on them again on the evening drive knowing that, as sunset approached, they would be waking up. The photo in the comment box shows all the adults, six females and young males. There were also 3 cubs. The affection shown between these 2 lions was only the start of what turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of the whole trip. I will post more photos next time. There are a lot of lions in this area so there weren't many other predators. Taken in South Luangwa, Zambia.
Thank you for your visit and comments.

— Meet BUDDY! —
This beautiful boy is a brown and white Pit Bull Terrier who is approximately 2 to 3 years old and weighing in around 80 pounds.
He was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles very hungry and scared. Luck was with him one day when he happened to stop in front of a house that loves dogs and took him in. Shy at first and not knowing where he was, he quickly warmed up to his new human friends. Buddy is NOT GOOD with cats but loves other dogs that are okay with larger Pit Bulls. He's a big guy with a heart as big as his size. He's potty trained, knows commands like "sit", "down", "stay" and "kiss". He's learning to walk on a leash. Buddy is very curious and loves to goof around. One of his biggest (and best) qualities is that he L-O-V-E-S to cuddle and would do so with you all day, if you let him. He's an indoor dog and you can leave me outside during the day if you're not home but make sure he has a warm bed and blanket and is inside as he does not like cold weather.
Buddy promises to love and keep you company for the rest for his life. All he asks in return is affection, a warm bed, and the promise that you will keep him until it's his time to visit Doggie Heaven.
Buddy has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccinations.
• OBSERVATIONS BY DOG BEHAVIORIST •
On the behavioral side - Buddy is a piece of cake. Yes, he's a big boy, but very manageable with a GREAT personality. A moderate to experienced Pitty handler would be best considering his size, but not a requirement. He's a bit forward in his greeting but accepts correction and redirection very easily and gives neat kisses (not slobbery). The one downside to this love bug are cats. Unfortunately, Buddy doesn't do well with them, which isn't to say this can't be corrected -- as he's a very willing/receptive learner.
"Sweetie pie" was one name given to him. No living creature is perfect, and he definitely deserves a second chance -- he's come this far. Please help this sweet boy.

Hi guys! My name is Wobble Pops, but mostly I just go by Wobbles. I was born July 10, 2017. I am a very sweet and very special boy who LOVES to be held and cuddled. I will kindly ask for attention to get pets, affection and love from my people. I am full of personality. You'll never meet another kitty like me. I am a fun boy who loves to play with all types of cat toys. When I was a kitten, I did not get to spend any time with other kitties my own age, so I did not learn all my manners very well. Sometimes, when I get really playful, I might nip too hard because I forget human arms are more delicate than my stuffed animal toys and other cats. So I would definitely do best in a home without little humans.
Everyone tells me that I am very special, but I don’t really think I am different from any other cat. When I was a very young kitten, I was in an accident; a little human closed a sliding door and I got caught in the way. Since the accident, I have not been able to use my rear legs, but I do not let that slow me down. My foster mom and dad did a lot of physical therapy with me and even got a wheelie cart for me. However, I'm not really a fan of the cart and am very happy being just the way I am. I get around just fine by myself, thank you very much. I tolerate baths, since I get them regularly, and I kind of enjoy the blow dryer. It’s nice and warm and gets me dry faster.
I may not be able to run and jump, but I still get around quite well and I can move fast when I want. I can move my rear legs and use them to help me get over small barriers, I just can't use them to stand longer than a few seconds, or to run and jump. I’m trying to learn how to use steps so I can get on the couch by myself (I can already get off the couch by myself). I get along very well with other cats, with cat-friendly dogs and even a chinchilla. I am just so happy to be alive and well and loved and cared for. Everyone tells me I am the happiest cat they know. I just want some yummy food and some nice people to give me lots of attention and to play with me too. As long as I have good food and get to cuddle and give you head rubs, I will keep being the happiest cat ever! Please give me a chance! I need a compassionate human to be my life companion. I promise to return your love tenfold.

One of my vintage photos found at a flea market inspired this piece. A portion of the photo is combined with text from a 1940's dictionary and set with resin in a copper bezel. The bezel base is a piece of brass that I milled with a leaf. Riveted to the bottom of the pendant base is a portion of a brass box that I cut apart. The chain is attached with wire wrapped recycled beads and is highlighted with wire wrapped freshwater pearls.
Some of the steps are illustrated on my blog CynthiaMurrayDesign.blogspot.com
Like most brothers and sisters, 8-year old Barbara and Vando have a very special affection for each other. But they are not really brother and sister. Born only 30 days between them; they shared the same breast milk, kindly provided for by Barbara’s mother during their first year. Growing up together and sharing something so intimate and priceless as this special source of love, has created a strong relationship between the two of them.
Vando came to me from a situation of total abandonment, only a few weeks old. His mother was a street dweller and alcoholic, his father too. Both have since died from their tragic lifestyle. I had already rescued his abandoned brother and two sisters from the streets of the city centre during the preceding years, who have all since grown up together with Vando.
Barbara, on the other hand, was born to the safety of a loving and caring home, where there were many to love and care for her from the very beginning. She is the granddaughter of our dearest co-worker, artist and volunteer for many years, Dona Ordalina.
Two lives and two destinies, both with a good start in life, but unfortunately, Vando is paying a high price for his mother’s alcoholism, which is interfering with his natural development due to an alcohol related neurodevelopmental disorder caused by the effects of FAS – Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
Barbara feels there is already a something different between them now as she quickly develops at school and realizes how difficult it is for Vando to keep up with her and others of the same age. As with all human beings, they were both born to live and love and hopefully they will never cease doing so because life and love are the strongest powers in our universe.
NB! I have added this to our FORSAKEN BY SOCIETY POOL because I feel there are so many kids like Vando in the world who are abandoned by societies that lack the knowledge and willpower to do something to prevent this kind of thing from happening. These same societies also lack the supporting facilities to help the lives of those who are suffering from such problems. These children will be the real losers of society if nothing is done.
FAS can be prevented 100%. Pregnant mothers should simply never touch alcohol during pregnancy, not even on a small social level. That is the only way to prevent this from happening to other innocent children.
Usually Taj and Kita tussle for occupancy of this chair when the sun is on it. But yesterday I found them together there and Kita was washing Taj's ear!
Taj has been here two weeks exactly and Kita 5 weeks. They have come so so far.
I AM going to write the new year catch-up report about the two of them today. Please check in after a couple of hours.
Looking through my old zoo pictures i found this one of a pair of wolf cubs taken in 2008 at Colchester Zoo, Essex.
Back home from a wonderful trip with a "TON" of new images to process. Thought I'd put up one from just before I left to get something fresh up here - it's been a while. These two lovely ladies are the female lions at the Cleveland Metro Park Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio (USA).
