Display of Affection is a macro photo of tulip petals. The pattern of water droplets on the tulip are arranged like like the circular patterns on the feathers of a peacock. The petals of flowers work to attract insects for pollination...

Morning Glories are simple symbols of affection. Those who rise early may be able to watch their lovely blooms open. Morning glory flowers generally curl closed later in the day, hence their name!

This was taken a couple years back. A hard working Fox Dad looking rather tired getting nuzzles of appreciation and affection from one of his kits. Tragically the Mother Fox had been struck by a car weeks before and the Father did an amazing job keeping his kits fed, healthy and most importantly... loved! :)

It's hard not to love a kitten, even if you're a cat. In general, most adult cats will tolerate, if not show affection for, any kitten -- especially their own.
A pair of Silvereyes, winter back yard, New Zealand. Silvereyes (also known as Wax-eye and locally as Tauhou) when paired show great affection for each other, stroking and preening one another's feathers and cuddling together. Silvereyes are slightly smaller than a sparrow.
Golden Retrievers are often used as therapy dogs due to their calm demeanor, gentle disposition, and friendliness to strangers.
A therapy dog is a dog that might be trained to provide affection, comfort and love to people in hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, hospices, disaster areas, and are defined but not covered or protected under the Federal Housing Act or Americans with Disabilities act. They also do not have public access rights with exception to the specific places they are visiting and working. Typically the dog would be granted rights by individual facilities only.
The systematic use of therapy dogs is attributed to Elaine Smith, who noticed patients positively responding to visits by a chaplain and his Golden Retriever. In 1976, Smith started a program for training dogs to visit institutions.
