You have been the engine that keeps us running, and the reason for which we have been overcoming adversity after adversity. You have showed us the true meaning of happiness, and for that, and for so much more, we thank you, and can only hope to return even a fraction of that love to you.

It is not forbidden to have fun in adversity! We can sing, joke, even listen to Gregorian chant (as long as we shed a tear for those in misery).
Just a few leaves on this oak tree are still there finishing winter season, resisting cold, wind, fungi attacks, and the rejection of its own father tree. Our world is full of people who resist adversity constantly too....in honor of them.
This enormous bronze statue, created by sculptor Igor Mitoraj is located in the Boboli Garden in Florence, Italy. I feel it represents strength, fragility while having persistence in the face of adversity. Although there were more conventional pieces of art placed throughout the gardens, this one piece really speaks to my heart.

It is that time of year... snow is melting or melted, spring is in the air. I took this crocus grouping several years ago. In part, slightly out of focus, so using some filters, I used that to create a somewhat "painterly" affect.

The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (Georgian: სვეტიცხოვლის საკათედრო ტაძარი); literally the Cathedral of the Living Pillar) is an Orthodox Christian cathedral located in the historic town of Mtskheta, Georgia, to the northwest of the Georgian capital Tbilisi. A masterpiece of the Early and High Middle Ages, Svetitskhoveli is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is currently the second largest church building in Georgia, after the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
Known as the burial site of the claimed Christ's mantle, Svetitskhoveli has long been one of the principal Georgian Orthodox churches and is among the most venerated places of worship in the region. Throughout the centuries, the cathedral served as the burial place for kings. The present cross-in-square structure was completed between 1010 and 1029 by the medieval Georgian architect Konstantine Arsukisdze, although the site itself dates back to the early fourth century. The exterior archature of the cathedral is a well-preserved example of typical decorations of the 11th century.
Svetitskhoveli is considered an endangered cultural landmark; it has survived a variety of adversities, and many of its priceless frescoes have been lost due to being whitewashed by the Russian Imperial authorities. It is considered one of the four Great Cathedrals of the Georgian Orthodox world.
Choosing just one song is nearly impossible, but push come to shove, I would want a song that resonates in all kinds of moods - during the good times as well as challenging moments. It would need to symbolize triumph, resilience and elevation. A song that conveys a sense of overcoming obstacles and rising above challenges. For these reasons, I would select "Rise" by Herb Alpert. The title itself suggests overcoming adversity, perseverance and personal growth.

After a rough morning, the weather on the Iron Range finally broke, and so did the floodgates. In gorgeous lighting, an afternoon 2 harbors train rolls through Ramshaw with some very correct power on the headpin. Battled through some adversity yesterday for an absolutely stunning afternoon today for correct trains, with correct power, going in the correct directions with correct light.

Smiling through adversity, what does that mean??! That means try to stay in a positive mind frame even though things may seem out of control or chaotic. What energy you give out to the universe you get back 10 fold. Staying positive will help you through those tough times, no matter how hard or impossible they may seem. This blue tile is part of a memorial for the slaves who escaped to find freedom through the Underground Railway. The inscription on this tile says "over my head i see freedom in the air". Our city was the northern terminus for the Underground Railway. The window frame shown in the lens ball was recovered from the first original Black Church in our area. It has been incorporated in the monument.
On this Window Wednesday, celebrate the freedoms we have and the hope that we can overcome adversity.

Being a submissive, I would say authenticity reigns supreme. It is not merely about surrendering control, but about embracing the true essence of who I am. There have been moments when doubt has clouded my path, casting shadows upon my journey, times I felt very isolated and alone, its not easy to pack a punch, as an introvert with a small circle. Society's whispers of judgment and misunderstanding have remained with me, threatening to derail me from the correct course. Yet, in the face of adversity, I have found strength in the power of my authentic voice.
I tell my story not as a mere recollection of events, being in a long term submssive relationship, and engading ofthen in S&M play, I find is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit- my spirt. It is a story woven with threads of passion, desire, and unwavering determination. Through the art of photo stories, I reclaim my narrative, casting aside the shackles of societal expectations to embrace the true essence of my submissive nature.
