Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Manassas-based 229th Military Police Company, 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group, conduct active shooter training July 19, 2021, during their two weeks of annual training at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Using special simulation ammunition to create a more realistic scenario, the training helped prepare Soldiers how to respond effectively and efficiently in an active shooter situation, including an emphasis on when and when not to engage with their weapons. Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 1173rd Transportation Company also conducted familiarization training along with the 229th. (U.S. National Guard photo by Cotton Puryear)

Roll #0006

Lots of snow overnight and into the morning so I wanted to load, shoot, process, scan and post a whole roll same-day!

70 minutes wasn't long enough or I didn't agitate enough so the negatives are thin, most of them having a really narrow dynamic range. Also goofed up loading the roll onto the spool for developing and had some nasty artifacts.

Still - I did what I set out to do!

Once an active Catholic chapel, this site, at 2523 Prytania St., was owned by Anne Rice, as was the Marigny-Claiborne House (built for the daughter-in-law of Bernard Marigny) on the other side of the block at 2524 St. Charles Ave. It's the setting for her novel Violin. The former chapel is now owned by actor Nicolas Cage. The author's childhood home is down the street at 2301 St. Charles Ave.
